Produced by the Independent Institute, Love Gov portrays the federal government as an overbearing boyfriend — Scott “Gov” Govinsky — who foists his “good intentions” on a hapless, idealistic college student, Alexis. Each episode follows Alexis’s relationship with Gov as his intrusions wreak (comic) havoc on her life, professionally, financially, and socially. Alexis’s loyal friend Libby tries to help her see Gov for what he really is — a menace. But will Alexis come to her senses in time? Tune in to find out!  The video is all-too-short, but funny and on the money.  Ridiculing the government has never been easier or more fun.

People don’t like to think that anyone’s labor is worth less than the minimum wage. Someone might end up flipping burgers for $5.00 an hour. You might think the minimum wage is a way of paying some sort of dignity premium–hence language like “living wage.” People with such good intentions look at the direct beneficiaries of these policies, say, burger flippers now making $7.50 an hour. They pat themselves on the back. But they rarely count the invisible costs: willing human beings who never get hired in the first place.

“But $5.00 an hour is not enough to live on!,” they’ll say. For whom? A teenager living at home with his parents? An elderly person who wants simply to stay active? A single mom with three kids? A single woman sharing an apartment with 2 roommates? Of course, not all of these people could live off of $5.00 an hour. But some of them could given the opportunity. Concerns about those who couldn’t don’t justify minimum wages even if we ignored the invisible costs of the policy, which include reduced margins to businesses that might otherwise grow (and hire more people).

In other words, if you take off the bottom two rungs of the income ladder, many will never climb it. That’s the effect of the minimum wage. The more cynical side of me says that’s how many politicians and the overpaid teamsters want it.

Enjoy this great video and some timeless pieces on the minimum wage by some of FEE’s excellent scholars.

This classic clip from the hit show “Dragnet” is going viral… even though it first aired in the 1968! With more than 20 million views on Facebook, this clip features Joe Friday (played by Jack Webb) and Bill Gannon (Harry Morgan) debating politics and social issues with a young liberal hippie.  This clip seems to be more relevant in the era of Obama than ever! “Social Justice” is a term you hear almost every day. But did you ever hear anybody define what it actually means? Jonah Goldberg of the American Enterprise Institute tries to pin this catchall phrase to the wall. In doing so, he exposes the not-so-hidden agenda of those who use it. What sounds so caring and noble turns out to be something very different.

In every society throughout human history the following relationship has held true: as government grows, human freedom and happiness shrinks. Best selling author, Dennis Prager puts it this way: “The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.” This has been true in Europe for decades and is becoming ever more so in the United States. But it’s not the kind of nation, the Founding Fathers had in mind. Can we get back to the principles of liberty and individual responsibility? It’s a big challenge. But first we have to recognize the problem.

As the economy has not rebounded and jobs continue to be scarce around the country, many US citizens are renouncing their citizenship and moving abroad. Mike Golguski says that the United States is the largest criminal in the world and he didn’t want to be a part of it. He also says that he is not anti-American but is anti-US government.

AMTV: Hard Hitting and In Your Face

AMTV is a grassroots media channel entirely supported by our subscribers! We feature a variety of content focused on the economy and politics.

Christopher Greene started AMTV in 2009 when he decided to quit his job as a broker at Merrill Lynch. After witnessing the collapse of global stock markets in 2008 and seeing just how badly it had devastated the global economy, he decided it was time to take action and do something about it! Frustrated by government bailouts and a lack of accountability on Wall Street, he picked up his camera and started making YouTube videos.

A little over a year later, what started from just a few people has quickly grown to 300,000+ YouTube subscribers, a brand new daily show, appearances on national television and over 60.0 million video views around the world. Christopher is regularly cited online and in print media, has covered live events such as the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa Bay and has interviewed celebrities like Peter Schiff, Stephen Baldwin, Jon Voight, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Ron Paul and many others. In addition to his passion for media broadcasting, Christopher is the creator of breaking viral documentaries on subjects such as the untimely death of media maverick Andrew Breitbart.

Much of what Christopher has covered since the very beginning has come true in real life: the financial crash of 2008-09, the sovereign debt collapse and fragmentation of the Eurozone, worse median peak-to-trough declines in residential real estate since the 1930′s Great Depression, escalating global war, the Arab Spring protests, Occupy Wall Street movement, bailouts-to-infinity and now a growing police state in America!

A thoroughly informative, and entertaining, YouTube video on the history and methods of the criminal Federal Reserve Board and our thoroughly corrupt two-party kleptocracy. The moderator heaps scorn on both parties and exposes their glaring hypocrisy.  The presentation is intended for audiences of all ages.  I would recommend this video enthusiastically for any high-school or college social studies class.

The assassination of President John F. Kennedy lingers as one of the most traumatic events of the twentieth century. The open and shut nature of the investigation which ensued left many global citizens unsettled and dissatisfied, and nagging questions concerning the truth behind the events of that fateful day remain to this day. Evidence of this can be found in the endless volumes of conspiracy-based materials which have attempted to unravel and capitalize on the greatest murder mystery in American history.

Now, a hugely ambitious documentary titled Everything is a Rich Man’s Trick adds fuel to those embers of uncertainty, and points to many potential culprits whose possible involvement in the assassination has long been obscured by official historical record.

Authoritatively written and narrated by Francis Richard Conolly, the film begins its labyrinthine tale during the era of World War I, when the wealthiest and most powerful figures of industry discovered the immense profits to be had from a landscape of ongoing military conflict. The film presents a persuasive and exhaustively researched argument that these towering figures formed a secret society by which they could orchestrate or manipulate war-mongering policies to their advantage on a global scale, and maintain complete anonymity in their actions from an unsuspecting public. Conolly contends that these sinister puppet masters have functioned and thrived throughout history – from the formation of Nazism to the build-up and aftermath of September 11.

The election of President Kennedy in 1960 represented a formidable threat to these shadowy structures of power, including high-profile figures within the Mafia, crooked politicians, and the world’s most influential and notorious war profiteers. Thus, a plot was hatched which would end Kennedy’s reign prior to any chance of re-election, thereby restoring the order and freedoms of these secret societies.

At nearly three and a half hours, Everything is a Rich Man’s Trick examines a defining event of our times from a perspective not often explored. While it may or may not win over viewers who remain skeptical of mass-scale conspiracy, it presents its findings in a measured and meticulous manner which demands attention and consideration.

Gatto was born in the Pittsburgh-area steel town of Monongahela, Pennsylvania. In his youth he attended public schools throughout the Pittsburgh Metro Area including Swissvale, Monongahela, and Uniontown as well as a Catholic boarding school in Latrobe. He did undergraduate work at Cornell, the University of Pittsburgh, and Columbia, then served in the U.S. Army medical corps at Fort Knox,Kentucky, and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Following army service he did graduate work at the City University of New York, Hunter College, Yeshiva University, the University of California, Berkeley, and Cornell.

He worked as a writer and held several odd jobs before borrowing his roommate’s license to investigate teaching. Gatto also ran for the New YorkState Senate, 29th District in 1985 and 1988 as a member of the Conservative Party of New York against incumbentDavid Paterson.[4] He was named New York City Teacher of the Year in 1989, 1990, and 1991, and New York State Teacher of the Year in 1991.[3] In 1991, he wrote a letter announcing his retirement, titled I Quit, I Think,[5] to the op-ed pages of the Wall Street Journal, saying that he no longer wished to “hurt kids to make a living.” He then began a public speaking and writing career, and has received several awards from libertarian organizations, including the Alexis de Tocqueville Award for Excellence in Advancement of Educational Freedom in 1997.[6]

He promotes homeschooling, and specifically unschooling and open source learning. Wade A. Carpenter, associate professor of education at Berry College, has called his books “scathing” and “one-sided and hyperbolic, [but] not inaccurate”[7] and describes himself as in agreement with Gatto.[8]

Gatto is currently working on a 3-part documentary about compulsory schooling, titled The Fourth Purpose. He says he was inspired by Ken Burns‘s Civil War.[9]

In 2011 he had two major strokes and received hundreds of messages of support from friends and fans worldwide. He suffered financial hardship since his medical insurance did not cover all his medical bills for rehabilitation.[10] The stroke occurred after he completed the filming of “The Ultimate History Lesson: A Weekend with John Taylor Gatto”[11] which was released in early 2012 by Tragedy and Hope Communications.[12]

Dinesh D’Souza talks about his book, “Stealing America: What My Experience with Criminal Gangs Taught Me About Obama, Hillary and the Democratic Party” which looks at America and American politics through a new lens following his own experience in confinement after being convicted of campaign finance violations. He describes the political fight much like prison gangs, with gangs facing off against each other to become the most powerful. Mr. D’Souza, with this different take on American politics, describes progressive politics as a series of scams and cons aimed at stealing the wealth of America.

THE FRANKLIN SCANDAL: A Story of Powerbrokers, Child Abuse, and Betrayal

The FRANKLIN SCANDAL is the story of a nationwide pedophile ring that pandered children to a cabal of the rich and powerful. The rings pimps were a pair of Republican powerbrokers who used Boys Town as a pedophiliac reservoir, had access to the highest levels of our government, and connections to the CIA.

Nebraska legislators nearly exposed the ring in 1990, but its unveiling had the potential to produce seismic political aftershocks: a rash of deaths and a full court press by federal and local law enforcement effected an immaculate cover-up.

State and federal grand juries in Nebraska and a former US Attorney for the District of Columbia played an integral role in the cover-up, and the author has had access to thousands of documents that would ultimately be sealed by the two grand juries. His documentation includes Omaha Police Department reports and internal memos, Nebraska State Patrol reports, Nebraska Department of Social Services reports, internal Boys Town reports, victim debriefings, hundreds of the rings airline receipts, etc.

The FRANKLIN SCANDAL tells the complete tale of a power elite pedophile ring in the US and also of the cover-up of its heinous crimes. Various news organizations have attempted to break aspects of this story, but the reports have either been ignored or mysteriously shelved. Major news agencies, including ABC, have backed away from pursuing this story; conversely, CBS abetted its cover-up. Its obvious that very powerful people have a vested interest in safeguarding this secret.

A Carefully Crafted Hoax:…

A Carefully Crafted Hoax is a feature investigative documentary that examines child prostitution and sexual exploitation in America by focusing on the well-documented story of Johnny Gosch, a paperboy adbucted in Des Moines, Iowa, and its connection to a notorious pedophile network based in Nebraska.

The shocking disclosures begin at an old brick warehouse in a seedy section of Washington, DC, progressing through the $40 million dollar bust-out of a nondescript Midwestern credit union and then back to a DC party-house that was wired for blackmail. A tragic tale that tears at your heart and rips your soul, A Carefully Crafted Hoax proves that child-pandering was covered up from the utmost pinnacle of power – using the CIA, FBI, Secret Service and a corrupt judicial process.

Every 40 seconds a child is abducted or goes missing in the United States. Some have run away, some have strayed from their parents and are temporarily lost, but many others fall through the cracks and become entangled in the webs of predators – only to end up being abused, enslaved, pandered, or worse. An estimated 100,000 to 300,000 American children under 18 years of age are victimized through prostitution every year. The traumatic effect that losing a child has on the families and communities would lead one to believe that protecting our nation’s youth would be law enforcement’s top priority, but Shared Hope International, a sex trafficking watchdog, has found that most Americans, including far too many government officials, have no idea that children under the age of 18 are being shipped from state to state as child prostitutes. How could this be happening right underneath our noses?

Featuring first hand interviews with several of the players at the center of story, including child victims, their parents, members of the trafficking ring, and law enforcement, A Carefully Crafted Hoax seeks to understand how such behavior can go unchecked. Most importantly, the film seeks to answer the questions the mainstream media has been too negligent – or too afraid – to ask. Are our politicians, top business and media personalities compromised? Is there a covert checks-and-balances system affecting our body politic?

Journalist Nick Bryant stumbled on to a U.S. Customs report on the “Finders,” a group reportedly responsible for kidnapping children.

Seven years and 40,000 miles later and he’s written the authoritative history on the cover up of a child trafficking network centered in Omaha in his newly released book “The Franklin Scandal”.

He located several of the young victims, who are now adults, and persuaded them to talk – some for the first time ever; he tracked down members of the sex-ring, getting them to speak publicly about what happened. Digesting thousands of documents and conducting hundreds of hours of interviews, Bryant has written the definitive narrative of our country’s most suppressed scandal. More than just an exposé, this is also an amazing chronicle of courage, faith and fortitude amidst great betrayal.
