A lot of people seem to think that government can lower gas and grocery prices. “Vote Democrat and life will be affordable.” It’s as if President AOC can sign a bill that lowers the price of milk, eggs or fuel. And that’s the end of it. Thank you, AOC!

This is infantile in its ignorance. Prices are set by supply and demand — in a free market, or even in a black market. If prices go higher, you need more eggs. Or more gas. Only increased supply (or reduced demand) will lower prices.

If you artificially freeze the price of something and demand stays the same — the product sells out and you get shortages. Hence the empty shelves in Soviet Russia, the mass starvation in Maoist China, the hunger in Cuba, Venezuela or anywhere else who has ever enacted the policies now proposed by the entire Democratic Party in America.

Socialism kills. And the mass ignorance and economic illiteracy giving rise to socialism kills.
