Why the Free-Market Liberals Underestimated the Socialists

The masses, the hosts of common men, do not conceive any ideas, sound or unsound. They only choose between the ideologies developed by the intellectual leaders of mankind. But their choice is final and determines the course of events. If they prefer bad doctrines, nothing can prevent disaster.

The social philosophy of the Enlightenment failed to see the dangers that the prevalence of unsound ideas could engender. The objections customarily raised against the rationalism of the classical economists and the utilitarian thinkers are vain. But there was one deficiency in their doctrines. They blithely assumed that what is reasonable will carry on merely on account of its reasonableness. They never gave a thought to the possibility that public opinion could favor spurious ideologies whose realization would harm welfare and well-being and disintegrate social cooperation.

It is fashionable today to disparage those thinkers who criticized the liberal philosophers’ faith in the common man. Yet, Burke and Haller, Bonald and de Maistre paid attention to an essential problem which the liberals had neglected. They were more realistic in the appraisal of the masses than their adversaries.

Of course, the conservative thinkers labored under the illusion that the traditional system of paternal government and the rigidity of economic institutions could be preserved. They were full of praise for the ancient regime which had made people prosperous and had even humanized war. But they did not see that it was precisely these achievements that had increased population figures and thus created an excess population for which there was no room left in the old system of economic restrictionism. They shut their eyes to the growth of a class of people which stood outside the pale of the social order they wanted to perpetuate. They failed to suggest any solution to the most burning problem with which mankind had to cope on the eve of the “Industrial Revolution.”

Capitalism gave the world what it needed, a higher standard of living for a steadily increasing number of people. But the liberals, the pioneers and supporters of capitalism, overlooked one essential point. [p. 865] A social system, however beneficial, cannot work if it is not supported by public opinion. They did not anticipate the success of the anticapitalistic propaganda. After having nullified the fable of the divine mission of anointed kings, the liberals fell prey to no less illusory doctrines, to the irresistible power of reason, to the infallibility of the volonté générale and to the divine inspiration of majorities. In the long run, they thought, nothing can stop the progressive improvement of social conditions. In unmasking age-old superstitions the philosophy of the Enlightenment has once and for all established the supremacy of reason. The accomplishments of the policies of freedom will provide such an overwhelming demonstration of the blessings of the new ideology that no intelligent man will venture to question it. And, implied the philosophers, the immense majority of people are intelligent and able to think correctly.

It never occurred to the old liberals that the majority could interpret historical experience on the ground of other philosophies. They did not anticipate the popularity which ideas that they would have called reactionary, superstitious, and unreasonable acquired in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. They were so fully imbued with the assumption that all men are endowed with the faculty of correct reasoning that they entirely misconstrued the meaning of the portents. As they saw it, all these unpleasant events were temporary relapses, accidental episodes to which no importance could be attached by the philosopher looking upon mankind’s history sub specie aeternitatis. Whatever the reactionaries might say, there was one fact which they would not be able to deny; namely, that capitalism provided for a rapidly increasing population a steadily improving standard of living.

It was precisely this fact that the immense majority did contest. The essential point in the teachings of all socialist authors, and especially in the teachings of Marx, is the doctrine that capitalism results in a progressive pauperization of the working masses. With regard to the capitalistic countries the fallacy of this theorem can hardly be ignored. With regard to the backward countries, which were only superficially affected by capitalism, the unprecedented increase in population figures does not suggest the interpretation that the masses sink deeper and deeper. These countries are poor when compared with the more advanced countries. Their poverty is the outcome of the rapid growth of population. These peoples have preferred to rear more progeny instead of raising the standard of living to a higher level. That is their own affair. But the fact remains that they had the wealth to prolong the average length of life. It would have been [p. 866] impossible for them to bring up more children if the means of sustenance had not been increased.

Nonetheless not only the Marxians but many allegedly “bourgeois” authors assert that Marx’s anticipation of capitalist evolution has been by and large verified by the history of the last hundred years.

Ludwig von Mises was the acknowledged leader of the Austrian school of economic thought, a prodigious originator in economic theory, and a prolific author. Mises’s writings and lectures encompassed economic theory, history, epistemology, government, and political philosophy. His contributions to economic theory include important clarifications on the quantity theory of money, the theory of the trade cycle, the integration of monetary theory with economic theory in general, and a demonstration that socialism must fail because it cannot solve the problem of economic calculation. Mises was the first scholar to recognize that economics is part of a larger science in human action, a science that he called praxeology.

America’s Coup Victims Will not go Quietly

This was a Coup.  It lacked, at least for the moment, the spilled blood often associated with a classic coup d’etat but make no mistake about it – this was a coup.

A record number of Americans fought an unusual number of hardships to make certain their voices were heard in the selection of our next president.  And, given the stark difference in the candidates’ visions for America’s future and the growing national divide, that choice was surely not made lightly.

So, when we on the right observed one “irregularity” after another on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, what we needed were answers and transparency.  What we got were evasions and coverups.

Keep in mind that we have endured over the past 4 years a seeming century’s worth of dishonesty, hoaxes, threats, wild conspiracy theories and widespread corruption from those on the left.  Indeed, Liberals appear to have made sport of treating Donald Trump and his supporters much like a cat treats a litter-box.  And we got the message: There is no limit to just how low they are willing to sink.

So running up to Election Day, we weren’t overly shocked to hear stories of “replaced” and supposedly destroyed misprinted ballots being accepted at Pittsburgh polling centers, effectively allowing 1 person 2 votes.

We remained calm but curious when Michigan joined other battleground states in halting their counts early Wednesday morning.  We became concerned when we noticed hours later that, while Michigan’s Trump vote stayed exactly the same at 2,202,902, the Biden vote had somehow increased by 138,339.  And, even though that result was statistically impossible, we didn’t really shift into full-blown-pissed-off until we saw a video of what appeared to be illegal ballots being wheeled into a Detroit Vote Count Center in the dead of night that very same morning.

So you can imagine the reaction when news of pollster Nate Silver’s twitter message hit just hours later, announcing: “Two more batches of Pennsylvania votes reported:  23,277 votes in Philadelphia, all for Biden.”  Especially coming from a highly-regarded statistician who knew damned well that the words he typed were impossible, unless of course someone was cheating – big time.

What was going on here? Did they really believe us such fools? Were they so emboldened as to not care?  Or are they intentionally goading us into action in an attempt to legitimize their lame assertion that it is “Right-Wing White Supremacists,” not the Woke Left-Wing Nutjobs of Antifa and Black Lives Matter responsible for the ongoing violence in our streets?

Hold that thought for just a moment.

And consider first a few more figures that simply don’t fly.  For instance, does anyone really believe that more votes were cast for Sleepy Joe Biden than history-making Dem darling Barack Obama?  Or that plus-40% Red Counties flipped to plus-40% Blue counties in a single cycle?  Or that in key counties, the down-ticket candidates consistently received 20% less votes than Biden?

Isn’t it much more likely that overzealous Dems, having once again grossly underestimated Donald Trump, panicked and, in doing so, brought life to the very scenario the president had warned us of for months?  That the corrupt political machines had indeed illegally (and sloppily) “harvested” the votes they believed necessary to finally defeat the dreaded Orange-man?

If so, the mind boggles at the implications, and contemplates the breadth of the chicanery.  Were these localized fraudsters or pawns on a much broader diabolical chessboard, perhaps enveloping the entire political battleground?

Needless to say, this intrigue made perfect tinder for the conflagrations to come, this time over count transparency, or, more accurately, its blatant absence.  Just imagine that while knowing that the nation was watching, the corrupt Philly, Atlanta and Detroit political machines nonetheless acted to stop the nation from watching.  All 3 have either denied GOP count observers’ entry or restricted them to stations too far from the count tables to observe anything. One even appealed a judge’s order to let observers in.  And whatever Detroit is hiding appears to be probative enough to merit papering the windows to shut out any outside onlookers.  What could they be hiding?  They’re supposedly counting ballots, not formulating battleplans.  Supposedly.

True to form, the Pro-Joe Lying Media have run strong interference, claiming there’s “nothing to see here,” even blaming criticism of the 3 heavily Democratic cities on, wait for it – racism.  As though led by the same conductor, they all spout identical Morning Joe Playbook phrases, such as suggesting a “desperate” Trump is “throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks.”

But such platitudes simply won’t fly this time.  These corrupt actions by corrupt people who believe they can steal the presidency with impunity will not be swept under the rug by virtue of sheer media sleight-of-hand.  Unlike the complex and faraway felonies recently disclosed in Hunter Biden’s laptop, these crimes against democracy have immediate and discernible individual victims whose disenfranchisement can be neither denied nor tolerated.

But what is to be done?  Sure, Trump could and should contest the results, no matter how long it takes.  After all, the Democrats are still contesting the 2016 election, so to hell with their protestations.

But with potentially hundreds of thousands of tactically targeted fraudulent “mail-in” votes already included in the tally, and most not segregated thereby long past identifiable, what remedy can be offered the 70 million coup victims who know their votes for Trump have been effectively stolen?

What might appease these understandably enraged Trump voters, who felt their very future hopes and dreams dismissed and forcibly ripped from them by people for whom they rightfully have neither trust nor respect?  Members of another tribe who insist the country be changed to something so different; so alien, that they can be perceived as nothing short of the enemy?

My blood boils as I type this, and I’m a reasonably reasonable guy.  But while reasonable minds can disagree as to what constitutes good government, there can be no debate concerning good elections.

My gut tells me that should this coup prove ultimately successful and the “irregularities” be allowed to remain a mystery, this will not end well.  How can it, if half the population believes it was irreconcilably wronged by the other half?

How ironic then that a party so baselessly obsessed with Trump’s supposed “collusion” with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to “manipulate” the 2016 election would stupidly employ the tactics of another Russian dictator to manipulate this one.  Not by coercion of voters by propagandists, as Democrats fixated on in 2016, but rather of votes by vote counters.

Once upon a time, former Soviet Premiere Joseph Stalin revealed one of his dirty tricks, admitting that “The people who cast the votes don’t decide an election, the people who count the votes do.”

But potential imitators and antagonists alike would do well to remember that by that time, history’s greatest tyrant and most prolific mass-murderer had already managed another despot’s dirty trick.

He had first confiscating the “people’s” guns.

A history lesson not to be trifled with.

Cultural Marxism in Universities Is Destroying the American Education System

Introduction

Professor Sheldon on the Problem of  Cultural Marxism in the University

When I taught the Classics of Political Theory, I used to introduce Karl Marx as “the least funny of the Marx Brothers”. But as I mentioned in an earlier piece in this site, “What Made American Academia Great and How It Was Destroyed”, this failed comedian’s ideas have infiltrated American Universities to the detriment of true learning.

The core of Marxist ideology is economic class conflict (owners vs. workers; slaves vs. masters; capitalists vs. proletarians). Because of the social mobility in the American economy, this core Marxism never really took hold in our country. It was a joke in the 1930’s, at the height of American Communism, that more dues were paid to The Party by FBI informants than actual members!

But CULTURAL Marxism succeeded in the American Left by casting everything in forms of “group conflict” (race, gender, religion, ethnic, etc.). In Chapter 13 of the textbook, THE HISTORY OF POLITICAL THEORY: Ancient Greece to Modern America, this “dialectic” of opposing but connected opposites leads to economic and political revolution, as in Russia, China, Cuba, etc.

In its cultural form, it leads to revolutions in all aspects of society: family, community, education, personal relations and everything else. This invaded the University in transforming the Humanities (History, English), Social Sciences (Government, Psychology, Sociology), and even Natural Sciences (Meteorology, Medicine. . .) from studying all perspectives and teaching the “best” to presenting the “conflict” between traditional subjects and radical perspectives.

Shakespearean literature went from being studied for its brilliant expression and insights into human nature (pride, envy, ambition, love, misery) to being ridiculed and dismissed as an English privileged, white male, with all his oppressive prejudices, who probably exploited his wife, maid, gardener, and stage director.

All subjects in the Marxist University became about “oppressors and oppressed”, the “exploiter and exploited”. The collection of extraordinary leaders that founded the enduring American Republic became privileged, bourgeois, slave-owning monsters who should be forgotten as soon as possible.

So, the American University went from being an educational institution based on an open, free, diverse study and debate of all subjects and all perspectives (“intellectual objectivity and detachment” or Academic Freedom) to workhouses of ideological indoctrination.

All content was judged by whether it advanced or offended the oppressed groups (nonwhites; women; LGBTQTMOUSE, non-Americans, etc.). This approach was weaponized from 2014 to just recently under an expansion of Title IX law that punished “misconduct” and “harassment”, including speech that wasn’t liked by the Oppressed.

Current “Inclusion” and “Diversity” rules force hiring and promoting only from Oppressed groups. White Males Need Not Apply . . . . This cultural Marxism in Academia has extended to “scholarly” journals and publishers, major Awards and Endowments. A major history journal (which I won’t name), after soliciting a book review from a scholar in the field, then refused to print it because it was critical of the ideological slant of the book.

The former great old universities, foundations and titles, awards and Professorships have largely been corrupted in this way. The old Liberal Art ideal of teaching the best of Western Civilization (what we call “The Greats” at Oxford) in Literature, Religion, Philosophy, Art, Music, History (Shakespeare, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Locke, yes, Marx, Freud, etc.) in a critical but reverential way.

In my year long course on The Classics of Political Philosophy, we studied the “Major” – that is influential thinkers of our past. This didn’t mean they were always “good”, just important and influential (affecting history and millions of people). This included studying all major schools of political thought: Ancient Greece and Rome; the Middle Ages, Italian Renaissance (Machiavelli – always a student favorite!); Fascism; Communism; Liberalism; Conservatism; Libertarianism; and on and on. And we studied them in the John Stuart Mill “Liberty” of examining each theory at its most persuasive before critiquing it.

This caused us to learn all ideas but also how to compare, contrast, think, reason, argue, debate, discuss. As Thomas Jefferson said of the University of Virginia he founded, “Here we are not afraid to follow the truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error, so long as reason is left free to combat it.” That academic ideal led to not only progress in knowledge, but progress in economics, technology, ethics, politics and personal life. In place of this lively, exciting, vibrant academy, we have a dead, boring, yes, oppressive system of indoctrination!

Cultural Marxism has impoverished education as economic Marxism impoverished whole countries with Socialism.

What’s the solution? Freedom! Return to the truly diverse, open investigation and debate that distills the best of the past ideas and practices. In terms of Policy: School Choice, Competition, mixing public, private, home, religious, community, online, onsite schools. It may take a while, but overthrowing oppressive Cultural Marxism will lead to greater education and happiness.

  1. doc says:Generally i agree with Gen Z, however in this he is wrong. cultural Marxism is not destroying out educational system. IT ALREADY HAS DESTROYED IT. i finished a 6.5 year college stint to earn my MBA in 2018. the traditional aged college kids have no idea about how our government is supposed to represent the people or what the constitution actually does/doesn’t do. to the point that most couldn’t even list the three branches of government. all of these kids were products of modern leftist public indoctrination. the two that i saw that actually knew anything about American Civics/history had attended either a private or charter school.when an 18 – 22 year old group of American kids knows less than legal immigrants trying to get citizenship about America and our way of government than the American kids do, it tells me only one thing. That public school indoctrinators, as they are not teachers, deserve pay CUTS NOT RAISES.Loading…

Previewing a Biden Presidency: Dementia, Impotence, Collapse

As of this writing, two days after the election, Joe Biden appears to be six electoral votes away from winning the presidency.

The Trump campaign has requested a recount in Wisconsin. Republicans are suing in Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Nevada to demand the right to observe vote counts and challenge absentee ballots and COVID-related mail-in ballots.

Recounts rarely change the outcome of an election and never do so when the margin is significant. So that’s a doomed Hail Mary pass. Trump’s fading hopes remain, as I have written previously, with the obscure 12th Amendment to the United States Constitution. If legal challenges prevent another state from certifying its results to the Electoral College by the Dec. 14 deadline, the incoming House of Representatives votes by state delegation for the new president. Most states are Republican, so Trump would win.

If Trump can reverse the trend of Biden being a single state away from legitimately declaring victory, possibly by disqualifying Democratic votes, he may remain in the White House. But Trump’s legal challenges in Nevada, though technically still alive, face long odds.

So, the wind is at Biden’s back, even if it feels more like a mild breeze. Which makes it a good time to consider what a Biden presidency could/will look like.

Few presidents in American history have entered the White House as politically impotent as Joe Biden. No Democrat since and including Andrew Jackson has ever been elected without Democratic control of both houses of Congress. Biden’s inverse coattails made history: Democrats lost four seats in the House. They expected to pick up 15.

The most recent Republican to face congressional opposition on day one was Ronald Reagan in 1981. The GOP controlled the House; Democrats had the Senate.

Biden’s advisers have to be obsessing over the words of former House Speaker John Boehner in 2010: “We’re going to do everything — and I mean everything we can do — to kill it, stop it, slow it down, whatever we can.” “It” was then-President Barack Obama’s agenda. Then-Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell added at the time: “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.” McConnell is even more of an obstructionist today. And now he’s the majority leader.

Even if Joe Biden were predisposed to a bold agenda, which progressives have a good reason to doubt, McConnell will block it. Unlike Obama, who had a Democratic supermajority in the Senate, Biden will have a valid excuse to accomplish nothing.

And that’s assuming that he is able to function in the first place. All the Democratic denials in the world can’t hide the possible president-elect’s worsening dementia. At a recent campaign event, Biden introduced his granddaughter as if she were his dead son: “This is my son Beau Biden, who a lot of you helped elect to the Senate in Delaware.” Wrong gender, wrong generation, wrong sentience. He tried to correct himself. “This is my granddaughter, Natalie.”

Actually, Natalie is a different granddaughter. His son Beau died five years ago. Beau never even ran for the Senate. This is dementia, not “stuttering.” It’s sad. It’s also scary. As commander in chief, Biden could single-handedly launch a nuclear attack.

Biden’s defenders point to evidence that Reagan suffered from Alzheimer’s, but there was zero evidence of the disease when he took office in 1981. Woodrow Wilson suffered cognitive decline after a stroke, but that was toward the end of his second term. Biden will be the first president to begin his first term with clear signs of dementia.

Ted Rall

“Wrong, Joe–You are my Enemy”

From Breitbart last night]: Biden says tensions can remain high but we have to remain calm and patient as the votes are counted. He says “democracy works” and “your vote will be counted.” He says the purpose of politics it to solve problems and guarantee justice and give everyone a fair shot instead of endless warfare. He says we may be opponents but not enemies. He says we have to put the “anger and demonization” behind us.

No, Joe. YOU THREATEN EVERY ONE OF MY FREEDOMS AND YOU ARE MY ENEMY. You, your criminal family and cohorts; your deceptive media; all the people behind this absurdly transparent voting fraud; and all the totalitarians you intend to foist upon the freest nation on earth, should you get your way. Go to hell, Joe. I want no part of a country where you are in charge of anything.

Michael J. Hurd, Daily Dose of Reason

How the Election was Stolen

A gaming exercise of the perfect, indigenous colo revolution, code-named Blue, was leaked from a major think tank established in the imperial lands that first designed the color revolution concept.

Not all the information disclosed here about the gaming of Blue has been declassified. That may well elicit a harsh response from the Deep State, even as a similar scenario was gamed by an outfit called Transition Integrity Project.

Both scenarios should qualify as predictive programming – with the Deep State preparing the general public, in advance, for exactly how things will play out.

The standard color revolution playbook rules they usually start in the capital city of nation-state X, during an election cycle, with freedom fighting “rebels” enjoying full national and international media support.

Blue concerns a presidential election in the Hegemon. In the gaming exercise, the incumbent president, codenamed Buffon, was painted Red. The challenger, codenamed Corpse, was painted Blue.

Blue – the exercise – went up a notch because, compared to its predecessors, the starting point was not a mere insurgency, but a pandemic. Not any pandemic, but a really serious, bad to the bone global pandemic with an explosive infection fatality rate of less than 1%.

By a fortunate coincidence, the lethal pandemic allowed Blue operators to promote mail-in ballots as the safest, socially distant voting procedure.

That connected with a rash of polls predicting an all but inevitable Blue win in the election – even a Blue Wave.

The premise is simple: take down the economy and deflate a sitting president whose stated mission is to drive a booming economy. In tandem, convince public opinion that actually getting to the polls is a health hazard.

result that contradicts the prepackaged outcome: Blue’s final victory in a quirky, anachronistic, anti-direct democracy body called the “electoral college”.

If Red somehow wins, Blue would wait until every vote is counted and duly litigated to every jurisdiction level. Relying on massive media support and social media marketing propelled to saturation levels, Blue proclaims that “under no scenario” Red would be allowed to declare victory.

Countdown to magic voting

But then, just as a TV network prematurely calls a supposedly assured Red state for Blue, all vote counting stops before midnight in major urban areas in key swing states under Blue governors, with Red in the lead.

Election Day comes. Vote counting is running smoothly – mail-in count, election day count, up to the minute tallies – but mostly favoring Red, especially in three states always essential for capturing the presidency. Red is also leading in what is characterized as “swing states”.

Yet they can always rely, as Plan B, on urban mail-in ballots on tap, hot and cold, until Blue squeaks by in two particularly key swing states that Red had bagged in a previous election.

Blue operators stop counting to check whether their scenario towards a Blue victory can roll out without bringing in mail-in ballots. Their preferred mechanism is to manufacture the “will of the people” by keeping up an illusion of fairness.

That’s what happens. Starting at 2 am, and later into the night, enter a batch of “magic” votes in these two key states. The sudden, vertical upward “adjustment” includes the case of a batch of 130k+ pro-Blue votes cast in a county alongside not a single pro-Red vote – a statistical miracle of Holy Ghost proportions.

Stuffing the ballot box is a typical scam applied in Banana Republic declinations of color revolution. Blue operators use the tried and tested method applied to the gold futures market, when a sudden drop of naked shorts drives down gold price, thus protecting the US dollar.

Blue operators bet the compliant mainstream media/Big Tech alliance will not question that, well, out of the blue, the vote would swing towards Blue in a 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 margin.

They bet no questions will be asked on how a 2% to 5% positive ballot trend in Red’s favor in a few states turned into a 0.5% to 1.4% trend in favor of Blue by around 4am.

And that this discrepancy happens in two swing states almost simultaneously.

And that some precincts turn more presidential votes than they have registered voters.

And that in swing states, the number of extra mysterious votes for Blue far exceeds votes cast for the Senate candidates in these states, when the record shows that down ticket totals are traditionally close.

And that turnout in one of these states would be 89.25%.

The day after Election Day there are vague explanations that one of the possible vote-dumps was just a “clerical error”, while in another disputed state there is no justification for accepting ballots with no postmark.

Blue operators relax because the mainstream media/Big Tech alliance squashes each and every complaint as “conspiracy theories”.

The Red counter-revolution

The two presidential candidates do not exactly help their own cases.

Codename Corpse, in a Freudian slip, had revealed his party had set up the most extensive and “diverse” fraud scheme ever.

Not only Corpse is about to be investigated for a shady computer-related scheme. He is a stage 2 dementia patient with a rapidly unraveling profile – kept barely functional by drugs, which can’t prevent his mind slowly shutting down.

Codename Buffoon, true to his instincts, goes pre-emptive, declaring the whole election a fraud but without offering a smoking gun. He is duly debunked by the mainstream media/Big Tech alliance for spreading “false claims”.

All this is happening as a wily, old, bitter operator not only had declared that the only admissible scenario was a Blue victory; she had already positioned herself for a top security job.

Blue also games that Red would immediately embark on a single-minded path ahead: regiment an army of lawyers demanding access to every registration roll to scrub, review and verify each and every mail-in ballot, a process of de facto forensic analysis.

Yet Blue cannot foresee how many fake ballots will be unveiled during recounts.

As Corpse is set to declare victory, Buffon eyes the long game, set to take the whole thing all the way to the Supreme Court.

The Red machine had already gamed it – as it was fully aware of how operation Blue would be played.

The Red counter-revolution does carry the potential of strategically checkmating Blue.

It is a three-pronged attack – with Red using the Judiciary Committee, the Senate and the Attorney General, all under the authority of codename Buffoon until Inauguration Day. The end game after a vicious legal battle is to overthrow Blue.

Red’s top operators have the option of setting up a Senate commission, or a Special Counsel, at the request of the Judiciary Committee, to be appointed by the Department of Justice to investigate Corpse.

In the meantime, two electoral college votes, one-month apart, are required to certify the presidential winner.

These votes will happen in the middle of one and perhaps two investigations focused on Corpse. Any state represented at the electoral college may object to approve an investigated Corpse; in this case it’s illegal for that state to allow its electors to certify the state’s presidential results.

Corpse may even be impeached by his own party, under the 25th Ammendment, due to his irreversible mental decline.

The resulting chaos would have to be resolved by the Red-leaning Supreme Court. Not exactly the outcome favored by Blue.

The House always wins

The heart of the matter is that this think tank gaming transcends both Red and Blue. It’s all about the Deep State’s end game.

There’s nothing like a massive psy ops embedded in a WWE-themed theater under the sign of Divide and Rule to pit mob vs. mob, with half of the mob rebelling against what it perceives as an illegitimate government. The 0.00001% comfortably surveys the not only metaphorical carnage from above.

Even as the Deep State, using its Blue minions, would never have allowed codename Buffoon to prevail, again, domestic Divide and Rule might be seen as the least disastrous outcome for the world at large.

A civil war context in theory distracts the Deep State from bombing more Global South latitudes into the dystopian “democracy” charade it is now enacting.

And yet a domestic Empire of Chaos gridlock may well encourage more foreign adventures as a necessary diversion to tie the room together.

And that’s the beauty of the Blue gaming exercise: the House wins, one way or another.

The greatest psychological operation America has ever seen is under way – and we are the target.

When you went to bed on Tuesday night, President Trump had what appeared to be insurmountable leads in several of the so-called battleground states—Michigan, Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona.

By the time 4am rolled around, Trump’s leads in Wisconsin and Michigan had evaporated, helped in part by a 138,000-vote ballot dump in Michigan—all for Biden.

Now, you can be a partisan Democrat or a partisan Republican, but quite honestly, anyone with any integrity and half-a-brain can see there is something very odd about 138,000 ballots being delivered in one fell swoop, all for the Democrat candidate.

Today, in a miracle reminiscent of Moses parting the Red Sea, we woke up to find out that Biden had allegedly gone ahead of President Trump in Georgia and Pennsylvania. And that is when the rumblings started in the bowels (literally) of the Republican Party, and of course the Democrats. Time for President Trump to accept his defeat and move on.

Say what you want about the president, but he knew exactly what was going to happen in this election cycle, and in fact had predicted in months ago, as did many conservatives, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin and others among them.

The Democrats were going to use COVID-19 to implement mass mail-in balloting and with complicit judicial authorities in place in key states such as Pennsylvania, they set out to game the system.

You would almost have thought that China unleashed the coronavirus on purpose to help Biden win. But we digress.

Isn’t it ironic that in a state such as Florida, with a much larger population, they didn’t experience any of the same problems they are in Democratic-run swing states? In fairness to Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, the election machinery in that state is run by Democrats, especially in the greater Atlanta area where the Biden vote dump in that state originated.

The question that is not being asked but should be is this—if Biden is so comfortable with his margin, why isn’t he telling Democrat governors, mayors and election officials to be as completely open and transparent about the process?

After all, wasn’t it Biden that asked for “fair and transparent” elections? Why then wouldn’t he insist that the process be done in that manner? That tells you all you need to know. Biden doesn’t want it to be.

Every state where there has been a miraculous flip in election results is run by Democrats (except the aforementioned Georgia). Those states are seeing interference by officials covering windows in counting rooms so nobody can see in, or observers being sequestered 50 feet and more away, so as to not be able to actually view ballots. The list of hijinks is long.

We have had whistleblowers come forward from the United States Postal Service who were told by supervisors to change postmarks on ballots received after November 3.

We’ve seen discarded ballots being found in garbage, in one case under some rocks. The bottom line is our election process is a joke, and it is there not only for Americans to see, but for the entire world to see.

Here we are, the greatest country in the world and our election process is a laughingstock. It doesn’t lend itself to a lot of confidence in more serious matters.

Joe Biden ran the most ridiculous presidential campaign in American history. He sequestered himself in his home for months, only emerging the last week or so of the campaign for an hour or so at a time, never venturing far from home, for the most part.

In most years, that would have been an insult to the American people, but not in 2020 because hating Trump was much more important than liking Biden, clearly one of the most unlikable and unqualified presidential candidates in history. Forty-seven years in Washington and all he did was enrich his family and himself.

In 2000, George W. Bush and Al Gore were running for president. For those of you old enough to remember, Florida was the deciding state in that election and the results in that state were contested.

For around 40 days, the results were held in abeyance while “hanging chads” were must see TV on all the news networks. Finally, the Supreme Court ruled after what seemed like a million recounts that George Bush had won Florida and hence the election. It went on for over a month.

Yet here we are, mere days after the election and with counting still going on and Democrats and some Republicans are asking President Trump to accept his comeuppance and concede to Biden. This, with so many questions and so much apparent fraud and irregularities surrounding the vote.

This year—2020—will go down as the Year of the Gaslight. Americans have been played all year, from COVID-19 to the impeachment of President Trump, big tech censorship and the media refusing to call out Biden for running a presidential campaign not worthy of sixth grade class president. It was a joke.

President Trump was criticized for not acting fast enough on COVID-19 when he was on it way before the Democrats, who were obsessed with impeaching him over asking Ukraine to look into possible corruption by Hunter Biden, corruption which seems to have been proven in part by the discovery of Hunter Biden’s laptop, abandoned in a Delaware computer repair shop.

There were numerous forces in play to take out President Trump. After all, he was the outsider who came to Washington, DC to take out the swamp.

And if nothing else, he exposed it—big time. Those forces—billionaires such as Soros and Bloomberg, DNC state-run media such as CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post…Twitter, Facebook, Google and other tech companies…Wall St. fat cats. All in unison trying to undermine Trump.

Only the most blind Democrat partisan cannot see what has been done. I’ve seen people on Facebook and other social media sites who have ZERO problem with the 138,000-vote dump in Michigan Wednesday morning. Anyone with a shred of integrity and honesty would admit that was bizarre.

Hell, if that happened on Trump’s side, most right-thinking people I know would have questioned it. They are more interested in getting rid of the president than the integrity of our election system. And that is frankly scary.

The next question that must be asked is where are the Republicans? President Trump was responsible for the Senate remaining in Republican hands it appears, and for increasing the number of Republicans in the House so by the looks of it will be nearly a 50/50 split.

Not one incumbent member of the House lost their elections, while Republicans gained a number of seats. In addition, two state legislatures flipped from Democratic control to Republican. Which makes the Biden lead over Trump appear even more suspicious.

So where exactly are the Republicans? Lindsey Graham has been outspoken in his support for President Trump, even pledging $500,000 to Trump’s fight against the blatant election corruption he is facing. A few others spoke out, such as House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, Sen. Josh Hawley and a couple of others.

But for all of those you have the Chris Christie’s and Mitt Romneys who are downplaying the blatant corruption of this election. In Romney’s case it’s understandable…he’s a snake. But Christie is supposed to be a friend of Trumps. His apparent defection is disturbing, especially with so many questions surrounding the election.

In fact, rumor is that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been in talks with the Biden team, telling them that only moderates would be considered by the Senate for cabinet posts in a possible Biden administration.

Such talks give credibility to the process, and McConnell shows a tremendous lack of loyalty to President Trump by engaging with Biden. It also lends credibility to the claim that Biden is the clear winner, which he is not.

The problem the Trump team faces is that they do not have an honest media. They are in the tank for the Democrats, as are all of the social media and tech sites.

Any truth about what has happened in these corrupt states will only reach people who already support President Trump through news media such as the New York Post, Fox News, The Blaze, Breitbart News and a handful of others. For social media, their only shot is upstarts such as Parler and Rumble.

Conservative Americans need to start talking with their feet and with their pocketbook. As suggested in a publication called TheHayride.com, which served as an inspiration for this article, it’s time to launch Facebook and Twitter; shut off the legacy news media.

Hell, with a few exceptions such as Fox and Friends, Tucker, Hannity and Laura Ingraham, Fox News has started to drift leftward with people such as Juan Williams and Donna Brazile being given prominent roles.

Chris Wallace, who was always considered pretty fair and balanced has a strong case of Trump Derangement Syndrome which was obvious during the first debate.

While Democrats and liberals express their outrage with riots, mayhem, and murder, it’s time for Republicans and conservatives, who are seeing an election stolen from under our feet, to talk with our wallets and pocketbooks.

After this COVID nonsense settles down, leave these blue states to fend for themselves. Vacation in places such as Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. Leave California, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, New England and others to fend for themselves. In other words, screw them.https://f0afb5e27db6a2f7a406af7c995c69ac.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-37/html/container.html

It’s time to beat these people at their own game.

The World Now Sees that There is no Exceptionalism or Grandeur in the American Republic, but only Chaos and a Sense of Injustice

Even if Trump loses, the truth is that to many Americans Trumpism isn’t a pathology but a new normal which is a product of a massive social divide caused by dissatisfaction with the political system and life in general.

The world watches with bated breath as the US Presidential election sits at a dead heat. It’s going down to the wire and nobody knows who is going to emerge victor yet. Despite polls having shown a comfortable Joe Biden victory, Donald Trump has again come out far stronger than expected and thus both parties are now chasing down every vote in crucial swing states to surpass the electoral college tally of 270.

The President however, has already declared victory for himself, and has threatened court action should things go against him with longstanding objections to mail-in absentee ballots. His defiance means that should he technically lose, a contested result is inevitable.

Audiences around the world are either way aghast. What they see does not fill them with confidence. In other western countries, the thought of enduring four more years of Trump or for that matter, that he’s still performing far better than expected despite everything makes little sense.

Even if Biden wins, such a tight and deadlocked outcome ultimately makes him unconvincing, revealing a sharply divided country which at large cannot find faith in an alternative to a Trumpism, which beyond its borders is widely derided as woeful.

The resilience of Trump’s platform either way is endemic of an American system that is simply not delivering. The last four years are not perceived as a “bad mistake” which will “go away” but a deeper and more pervasive identity conflict which will persist.

Public opinion in the United States and among its allies in Europe could not be further apart. When polled on their preferences for this election, the outcome was a no brainer for EU citizens who favoured Biden by margins as high as 80%. In their minds, Trump was so awful and so damaging to America’s standing in the world that for him to go forward again could not be contemplated. They have a lot of reasons to cite, too many to list in this article.

Many in the world were not quite prepared for the fact that Trump’s support would in fact hold up, and like in 2016 confound opinion pollsters. How could such a “safe hands alternative” as Biden have to fight a walking disaster to the knife edge?

Either way it goes, the affair paints a grim picture for American democracy. A loose cannon like Trump not only remains competitive, but it also shows there are underlying problems in American society which are yet to be addressed. Even if he marginally loses, there is a hard hitting truth that for all of its seemingly awful tendencies, to many average Americans Trumpism isn’t a pathology, it isn’t a mistake and it isn’t a bad smell that can be simply vanquished, it’s a new normal and a product of massive social divides in the United States which spells widespread dissatisfaction with the political system and prospects for life in general. Trump’s pleas to bring back jobs to America, to restore national glory and emphasize identity have widespread appeal even if we can point out their damaging consequences.

These factors have allowed Trump not to sink as liberal critics envisioned and were again complacent about, but to float. Sagas such as the Black Lives Matter protests which played out over the summer were hugely controversial, and irrespective of how you judge the situation, served in fact to further consolidate the polarization of rival camps and entrench identities.

The enormous acceleration in turnout illustrates that to many the stakes of this election were huge. In essence, it is a clash between two very different and antagonistic visions of America. Those who hate Trump may have turned out, but as have those who see the President as defending a way of life which they feel is slipping away.

Biden of course may still win, yet can we say he would come out smelling of roses? And for that matter would Trump? Absolutely not, these very divides as set out and the closeness of the result guarantee imminent controversy and anger, either way.

Such polarization means “the other half” is likely to express dismay and in the case of Trump losing, he’s going to incite chaos in contesting the result and will ultimately exacerbate the very identity conflict which has made him so influential to begin with.

Again to the wider world, this holds negative connotations for America’s credibility and political system, it does not radiate exceptionalism or grandeur in its democracy as many politicians like to claim, but chaos, uncertainty and a prevailing sense of injustice. If anything, even madness.

As we eagerly await the outcome, those who assumed Trump was doomed to certain failure were wrong, yet again. He could yet go down, but not without a wholly damaging fight with massive implications for the legitimacy of his successor, and vice versa. If anything, this has shown us that problems in American politics and society continue to abound in ways outside observers just don’t understand and have produced a bitterly divided country whereby multiple visions of its identity are competing, and neither is prepared to give up the fight so easily. Let’s see what happens.

The Artful Dilettante: Political Participation and the Sanction of the Victim

In her 1957 masterpiece, Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand introduced us to a powerful concept which she called “the sanction of the victim.”  This concept is defined as “the willingness of the good to suffer at the hands of the evil, to accept the role of sacrificial victim for the ‘sin‘ of creating values.”  As Rand explains through the character of her hero, John Galt, “Evil is impotent and has no power but that which we let it extort from us,” and, “I saw that evil was impotent…and the only weapon of its triumph was the willingness of the good to serve it.”   In Rand’s view, morality requires that we do not sanction our own victimhood.  This concept may be original in the thinking of Ayn Rand and is foundational to her moral theory: she holds that evil is a parasite on the good and can only exist if the good tolerates it.

The sanction of the victim takes many forms, on the individual level in our personal relationships, and in the social or public realm in our relationship with the State.   In Rand’s Atlas Shrugged it primarily takes the form of unearned guilt and the need to acknowledge and show kindness towards our tormentors and those who would exploit us.  Ultimately, the sanction of the victim is used by our exploiters as the weapon of our own destruction.  The victim becomes an accessory to the crime.

On the personal level, among countless situations, the sanction of the victim would apply to the beaten wife, the verbally abused husband, and the parents of mooching offspring that refuse to grow up and leave home (excluding the handicapped and emotionally disabled).  An ever-growing percentage of our youth now choose to remain at home with their parents indefinitely.  The parent-victims have been played like a violin by their offspring, conditioned to believe they are financially and emotionally helpless, incapable of surviving independently.  The parents are terrified of the unbearable guilt they would carry if they were to send them packing.  The parents’ acceptance and acquiescence constitute the sanction of the victim.  Consequently, the parents become the victims of their own cowardice.

The sanction of the victim in the public or political realm expresses itself in two principal forms: participation in popular democratic processes, including elections, and acknowledging, approving, and extending respect and kindness toward our political exploiters (i.e. elected officials, their many toadies, and the supportive media).

Participating in the political process in all its forms constitutes the sanction of the victim. Again, you are an accessory to the crime, a victim of the crimes in which you are an active, but ignorant participant.  You are in effect abating the crimes of the political elite.  All of these things send the wrong message to the criminals and reprobates that comprise the political class.   Voting, attending political rallies, and perhaps worst of all, sending them money, constitute the sanction of the victim.  We are telling the political class, “We approve of your system.  Even though you’re robbing us blind and crushing our Constitutional liberties, we still like you.  Even though you’re corrupt beyond words, you are nevertheless lovable thugs, and we could not begin to fathom or contemplate life without you.

So how do we beat these people?  Democracy and every form of representative government based on popular consent with constitutional constraints is the god that failed.  We are told that political apathy and disengagement is to blame.  I disagree.  Disengagement is the solution, not the problem.  The sanction of the victim only reinforces the problem, whether it’s a bad marriage or a corrupt, tyrannical government.

Here is the Three-Step Program for defanging the snake.

DON’T VOTE.  As political satirist P.J. O’Rourke said, “Don’t vote, it only encourages them.” Elections change nothing systemically.  They only decide who gets to pick your pocket and hold the boot over your neck.  What difference would it have made if slaves had been allowed to elect their plantation overseers?  When you vote you’re doing the same thing.

When has there ever been an election that gives you the choice of A, B, or none of the above?  Hmmm?  Never.  Wouldn’t it be great to live in a voting district with no legislator, no congressman, no senator, no one to suck up to?  Yes, but you don’t have that option.  But you can refuse to part of the whole scam by not voting.  So don’t vote.  Look, you’re being used like a cheap condom.  Furthermore, the odds of you casting the deciding vote are far less than the odds of your winning the Big Lotto.  In fact, the odds of your being involved in a fatal car accident en route to the polling place are far greater than the odds of casting the deciding vote.  When you vote, you are sanctioning the system, its leaders and their crimes.

Voting is just a bad habit.  Like all bad habits, it is self-defeating.  Moreover, it serves to reinforce the bad habits of your tormentors.  I gave up voting and smoking over 30 years ago.  Both healthy choices, and among the most liberating and empowering I had ever made.

I remember a popular saying when I was young: Imagine if they held a war and nobody showed up.  Well, imagine if they held an election and nobody showed up.  Talking about sending the political class a message !

STOP TREATING POLITICIANS WITH KINDNESS.  What do politicians crave more than power?  Attention.  Attention is their drug of choice.  Indeed, politicians must seek the affirmation and approbation and applause of those whom they would never invite into their homes, have a beer with, or call their friends.  In other words people like you and me.  They have nothing but scorn and contempt for us.  And besides, they’re corrupt beyond words.  So what do we do?  We cram into public auditoriums to catch a glimpse of their faces and suck up their lies like a cat does a saucer of warm milk.  We reach out to grasp their hands as though they were the healing hands of a divine savior.  If you came home from work to find a burglar carrying your possessions out of your house, would you shake his hands and wish him well?  No, you’d call the cops, maybe even beat him up.  Why do we treat politicians any differently when they steal our money every day?  If we started denying politicians the attention and approval they so crave, maybe they’d consider getting an honest living.

A few years ago, on my way to work, our district congressman was shaking hands with us commoners at a Metro station in his district.  Half asleep, I shook his hand and actually wished him well.  Not five seconds later, I realized what a dumb-ass I was—shaking hands with a common criminal, a guttersnipe, a reprobate, a predator, a public parasite.  There I was, extending my best wishes to high-ranking political leader who bore direct responsibility for the mess we found ourselves in.  Would you shake hands with a cat-burglar, a serial rapist, a pedophile?  No, of course not, so why would you shake hands with a politician?

So, take the pledge.  When a politician reaches to shake your hand, act like the person has a communicable disease (what we used to call the “cooties”).  Take your hand back as quickly as possible, and say something pithy like, “No, thank you. When you sleep with dogs, you get fleas.  Don’t ever try to shake my hand again.”  If more of us started treating politicians with the disdain and contempt they deserve, they might begin to consider a more respectable line of work.

3-REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROCESS AT ANY LEVEL.  A good friend of mine is constantly urging me and everyone else he knows to “get involved.  It’s the only way we can fix things.”

As Sherman Potter would say, “Horsehockey !”  What sort of track record does popular participation have compared to apathy and disengagement?  None.  Politicians have always used elections and every form of democratic process to sanction and justify the criminal enterprise we call government.  It just gives them cover.  Government is, and has always been, nothing more than an organized crime syndicate, a protection racket sanctioned by the many forms of popular approval—which Ayn Rand called the sanction of the victim.

So, stay home, focus on your beautiful family, your kids’ Little League and soccer games.  Spend quality time with your friends.  Work at your hobbies, do crossword puzzles, listen to a symphony, read a good book, take your spouse and kids to the movies.  Watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.  Return the ladder you borrowed from your neighbor seven years ago.  Clean out your fridge, there’s probably stuff in there since you were in grammar school.  Take your grandkids to the playground.  Have a glass of champagne with your breakfast cornflakes.  Tell your kid to rake the leaves while you nap in a hammock.  Go to church, bake brownies, take your dog for a walk; mow the lawn; clean out your gutters; weed the garden, shovel the snow in your driveway.  Be at peace with your Maker, whatever you imagine him to be.  But whatever you do, avoid politicians like stray dogs.

The Artful Dilettante

Ayn Rand on Voting

The right to vote is a consequence, not a primary cause, of a free social system—and its value depends on the constitutional structure implementing and strictly delimiting the voters’ power; unlimited majority rule is an instance of the principle of tyranny.

A majority vote is not an epistemological validation of an idea. Voting is merely a proper political device—within a strictly, constitutionally delimited sphere of action—for choosing the practical means of implementing a society’s basic principles. But those principles are not determined by vote.

Individual rights are not subject to a public vote; a majority has no right to vote away the rights of a minority.

The citizens of a free nation may disagree about the specific legal procedures or methods of implementing their rights (which is a complex problem, the province of political science and of the philosophy of law), but they agree on the basic principle to be implemented: the principle of individual rights. When a country’s constitution places individual rights outside the reach of public authorities, the sphere of political power is severely delimited—and thus the citizens may, safely and properly, agree to abide by the decisions of a majority vote in this delimited sphere. The lives and property of minorities or dissenters are not at stake, are not subject to vote and are not endangered by any majority decision; no man or group holds a blank check on power over others.
