How can Democrats be so wrong on everything?

Growing up in the 1960s, I spent many pleasant hours reading comic books — mostly Superman and related characters.  There was an odd group of characters called the “Bizarros” in that series.  These were monstrous duplicates of individuals from the universe inhabited by Superman and his cohorts.  Their defining characteristic, besides their hideous appearance, was that they did everything backwards: Good was bad, ugly was beautiful, and so on.

Such is the case with today’s Democrat (they’re not democratic) party.  Much has been written on their being on the wrong side of every 80/20 issue.  I have previously noted here that the party appears to be aligned with the demonic principles of Baal and Jezebel.  How else does one explain their celebration of abortion, the chemical and surgical castration of children, placing graphic pornography in K–12 schools, and welcoming thousands of vicious South American gang members into our country?

As conservatives, we champion the principles of limited government, individual liberty, free markets, and personal responsibility.  These ideals are rooted in the Constitution and the wisdom of our Founding Fathers and have enabled Americans to build the greatest nation on Earth.  Yet Democrat policies, especially recently, have veered away from these foundations.  They embrace big government interventions that smother economic growth, erode freedoms, and disproportionately and ironically harm the very people they claim to help — particularly minorities, small business owners, and the working poor.  These progressive fantasies are not just bad politics; they’re disastrous for Americans.  Everywhere they’re enacted, they inflate costs, expand bureaucracy, and reward dependency over self-reliance.  Those who see through leftist rhetoric are increasingly voting with their feet by fleeing Democrat-run cities and states and changing their alliance to the Republican Party.

The Biden administration provided some of the most egregious examples.  Its economic blunders inflicted real pain on minority communities and small businesses.  Inflation, dubbed “Bidenflation” by its innumerable critics, surged under Democrat control, costing the average family an extra $5,200 annually.  Meanwhile, real wages plummeted by over 2.5 percent in just 13 months.

A Wall Street Journal poll revealed that 35 percent of African-American, Hispanic, and Asian-American respondents faced “major financial strain,” with more than half of black households struggling with energy insecurity.  Republicans like Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) pointed out that these policies deepen income inequality, making the poor poorer and making a mockery of the Democrats’ narrative of “equity.”  Biden’s health care reversals undermined Trump-era reforms, such as organ procurement improvements that saved lives among minorities waiting for transplants.

And let’s not forget the Biden tax hikes, which reversed wage gains for minorities.  As Alfredo Ortiz of the Job Creators Network testified, minority entrepreneurs were drowning in worker shortages and supply chain woes, all thanks to policies that prioritized government spending over job creation.

This pattern of harm extends to broader Democrat fantasies that sound noble but deliver misery.  Obama’s tax policy targeted those earning over $250,000 while theoretically sparing the middle class.  In reality, over 50 percent of those “wealthy” individuals were small business owners employing millions of middle-class workers.  Raising their taxes amid record unemployment, as Federal Reserve chairman Ben Bernanke warned, was economic suicide, stifling investment and growth when families needed it most.  Even left-leaning senators like Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) and Evan Bayh (D-Ind.) agreed that it was the “last thing” to do in a recession.  Echoing this fiscal recklessness was the explosion of federal spending: a $1.5-trillion bailout, a trillion-dollar stimulus, and Obamacare’s trillion-dollar price tag skyrocketed the deficit without reining in the national debt.  Democrats’ (and Republicans’!) failure to pass budgets screams of irresponsibility, leaving future generations — especially low-income ones — to foot the bill through higher taxes and inflation.

The Democrats’ environmental mandates further illustrate how big government hurts the poor.  The Heritage Foundation exposed how climate regulations like the Clean Power Plan and vehicle emissions standards functioned as regressive taxes on energy, hiking household electricity costs.  Low-income families, who typically devote roughly 20 percent of their budgets to energy compared to less than 10 percent for the wealthy, are forced to choose between lights and food.  Efficiency rules jacked up purchase prices for appliances and light bulbs, burdening those who can’t afford the “long-term savings” promised by bureaucrats.  Fuel efficiency mandates added thousands to car prices and pennies per gallon at the pump.  The poor and middle-class were hit the hardest, as always, while environmental gains were negligible.  Ozone regulations divert billions from poverty programs to compliance, while the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) diverts crops to ethanol, spiking corn prices and food costs for the poor, who spend a third of their income on groceries.  The federal sugar program doubles domestic prices through import restrictions, costing consumers $2.4–$4 billion per year.  Even relics like the Tennessee Valley Authority subsidize inefficiency, leading to rate hikes that disproportionately affect the poor and middle class.

Conservatives advocate market-driven solutions: repealing mandates; auctioning off assets like the TVA; and letting competition lower costs, empowering the poor through choice rather than coercion.

Other Democrat ideas border on the absurd, combining horrific policy with cynicism.  Packing the Supreme Court is a blatant partisan power-grab.  Although unlikely to pass, it would undermine judicial independence and alienate moderates.  Upon regaining the majority, Republicans would likely add conservative justices, beginning an endless, repetitive cycle and an ever-burgeoning Supreme Court.

Democrats’ plan to eliminate the filibuster would let the majority ram through radical agendas without compromise, another recipe for revenge when Republicans regain power.  Granting statehood to D.C. and Puerto Rico?  Just one more transparent scheme for extra Senate seats.  This is straight-up vote-rigging disguised as representation.  Reparations for slavery, though emotionally charged, raise more questions and problems than they solve.  The slaves were primarily owned by Democrats, so maybe only Democrats should pay.  And what about black Americans who came to America after passage of the 13th Amendment?  Do they receive reparations as well?  Some Irish immigrants were indentured servants.  Perhaps they should also receive a cut.

Other Democrat policies are equally ridiculous.  Cap-and-trade schemes hike energy taxes, kill jobs, and block real energy independence.  Politicizing immigration, as in suing Arizona over border enforcement, backfires by rallying support for secure borders.  And Obamacare?  It saddled companies with $1.4 billion in losses, low public approval (just 33 percent per CNN), and job-killing fines.

Democrat policies — from Obamacare to Biden’s inflation machine to crippling regulations, burdensome taxes, and progressive pipe dreams — betray traditional American values by expanding government at the expense of freedom and prosperity.  They harm minorities through economic pain, burden the poor with hidden taxes, and fail politically by exposing overreach.  This overreach became noticeable during Obama’s tenure and accelerated under Biden.  Voters are increasingly recognizing that Democrat policies are abhorrent, unworkable, and inevitably harmful to the people they are ostensibly meant to help.

True progress lies in conservative reforms — tax cuts, deregulation, and market incentives that lift all boats.  As Americans tire of big government’s failures, it’s time to reclaim the limited government ethos that made our nation strong.  By rejecting leftist ideas, we can foster opportunity, security, and unity for generations to come.

The biblical prophet Isaiah warned us of these Bizarro-like policies when he said, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

Perhaps someone should tell the Democrats.

The Reenactment of the April 19,1775, Events on the Old North Bridge

I live near this event (The April 19th Reenactment of the encounter between Colonials and the British at the Old North Bridge) but had only gone to it once before many years ago, and it was rainy with no visibility of the event due to crowd size. I determined it wasn’t worth going to again until this anniversary. I thought this would be something I should go to.

In 1976, the 200 Year Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, I had no opportunity to see any of it because I was an E2 Airman Apprentice doing Scullery Duty in the Chiefs Mess aboard the USS JFK tied up at Pier 12 in Norfolk, VA. Wasn’t even able to go ashore on liberty.

So, I thought I should not miss this opportunity, as I likely won’t be alive for any future celebration of this kind.

I got out of my car at around 4 AM, parking about four miles away and walking over because I wanted to be at the Old North Bridge for some 05:45 AM event, and the shuttle busses didn’t start running until 6 AM. I arrived at the Old North Bridge around 05:15 or so. There were a lot of people setting up and preparing, but only a few spectators like me, so this was as good as I could expect.

I asked where they were going to allow people to watch from, and found what I thought would be the best area to view from when the re-enactment took place. I made sure to ask some park rangers, and they pointed out the best spot to watch from. (That reenactment never took place. It was only a parade ceremony.)

As the ceremonies progressed, I saw through my binoculars a person with an idiotic “No Kings” sign off on the other side of the Concord River, and another soy boy on the Old North Bridge with a “Stop Facism” sign who stayed there until they kicked him off, and a few more of those types of dumb asses, and thought that I wouldn’t care as long as I wouldn’t have to be close to them.

There were two guys here, one dressed as a banana for some reason, with their signs indicating they were being oppressed.

I think these people are total statist morons, the kinds who would wave around Little Red Books in Mao’s Communist China. But those men stood their ground on that bridge 250 years ago to give even these ideologic statists the RIGHT to stand out there with their filthy signs. So, I have to accept the bad with the good. It has been my observation, from much experience, that Conservatives almost always have a similar opinion as my own.

However, long experience has also told me that this mindset is not in any way reciprocated by Leftists.

Around 06:30 AM, they began to move spectators out of the way, and they came into the area I was in. I saw an amusing sight (to me at least) of a man in British Army garb with his electric bike…it occurred to me that the British Regulars might have appreciated those back in 1775.

As the crowd in the spectator area began to increase, a woman asked me if I would be willing to move to allow her and her friends to stand together, and I politely refused, saying I had picked out this spot hours ago because it gave me the best view of both ends of the bridge for the soon to be non-existent reenactment. She seemed to accept that.

Then, I realized as the crowd of people directly around me increased, that her “friends” were all these douchebags affiliated with an organization called “Indivisible” who I know are the most radical and vocal a-hole Leftists out there. Worse than Code Pink or MoveOn.org type. Over the years, I have had to see their scumbag signs on a daily basis, and have had the tiresome opportunity of crossing their paths politically at some standouts or other demonstrations. I immediately recognized their jackass “Dear Leader” from having seen and heard him before. I estimate there were ten or 15 of them with their signs though it was hard to tell the way they milled around.

At that point, a media person came over to interview them. They all lined up dutifully with their signs, and he began interviewing them.

A man behind me said “Are you from New England?” and as I said “Yes I am!” and turned, I saw it was one of the Leftists wearing a mask, apparently the husband of the woman who had asked if I would move to give her group more room. I said politely “I’m not interested in talking with your group.” and the guy said “There’s nothing wrong with talking, I think we have to talk.” and I said politely in a level tone “No. I’d rather not interact with you. Let’s leave it at that.”

One of these people being interviewed was so vacuous, that I realized there was value in transcribing what she said as her fellow Leftists all nodded dutifully in approval at what she was saying. I began recording it, not secretly, but holding my phone up to record the voice (not video).

While he was endeavoring to engage me, his wife was trying to dissuade him from bothering me, which he stopped trying to do, and I had no further issue with them. As a matter of fact, she went out of her way to thank me (after my next encounter with the stupid one who got in my face) for serving in the military, which my ball cap made evident, and said that her father had served in WWII. I politely and genuinely thanked her but was not interested in pursuing the conversation. I appreciated that she did that. It made me wonder why she was there with those other people. I guess she had her reasons.

The “reporter” asked them: “Why do you feel like you have to come out here?”

Totalitarian, Psychopathic Love of Terrorism in Minnesota

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) denounced criticism of the transgender community … after FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the Minneapolis Catholic school shooter had insisted that people should treat him as a “transgender woman.”

“Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community or any other community out there has lost their sense of common humanity,” Frey said. “We should not be operating out of a place of hate for anyone. We should be operating from a place of love for our kids. Kids died today.”

Frey claimed that he had “heard about a whole lot of hate that’s being directed at” the transgender community.

Frey’s comments come after Patel confirmed on Monday that two people were left dead, and 17 others were injured. Patel also confirmed that the gunman was Robin Westman, “a male born as Robert Westman.” [from Breitbart News, 8-27-25]

Funny. He denounces all who criticize anyone who pretends to be the opposite of their actual gender. But he doesn’t have a word to say against violent sociopaths who shoot up a school full of little kids.

We still live in morally inverted times.

Minnesota’s Lt. Governor was pictured (before the shooting) wearing a shirt that advocates using violence to “protect” trans kids.

Will there be ANY accountability? Even verbally? No way. They’ll nominate her for Vice President.

Leftist lunatics: “Transgenders” get a free pass for shooting school children. Sick.

How Long Can Trump Alone Keep America from Self-Destructing?

Don’t get me wrong — I love Trump, and everything he’s doing. But one man cannot hold a country and a culture together. We have the media, the schools, the entertainment industry, the bloated and still corrupt federal government, little Cubas like New York, California and every blue state and city, sports teams, clothing stores, the hospitality industry, television, Internet, universities, on and on, every last one of them is WOKE.

What happens when Trump is gone? Are the rest of us prepared to keep it going? I hope so. In the meantime, I savor these moments. He is driving leftists CRAZY.

The Truth About George Floyd, ANTIFA, CAIR, and Keith Ellison’s Minnesota

Here’s the truth about this case they don’t want you to know. It only took the Communists 9 days to engineer Floyd’s death, loot & torch Minneapolis, shut down the Minneapolis police department & start race riots across America! They pulled another Jussie & the world fell for it.

The autopsy showed he did NOT die from asphyxiation or trauma – he died from heart failure due to lethal levels of fentanyl, heroin & meth in his sysftem.

Why did they do this? So Communists can build a huge corridor of new public housing on Lake Street for absentee ballot mills to control the vote in Minnesota from Hennepin County, dismantle the police & push through cheat-by-mail for the Democrats.

CAIRANTIFABlack Lives Matter, Black Bloc, the Youth Liberation FrontOccupy Wall Street & Sojourners are all front organizations for the Communist Party in the United States. They operate liberal activist groups, fake religious groups, social justice groups & mercenaries whose goal is the overthrow of America.

AG Barr just declared left-wing ANTIFA a terrorist organization. It is a militant group that was started in 1932 by the COMMUNIST Party of Germany. It has since infiltrated and overtaken many other organizations in America.

George Floyd had prior connections to Keith Ellison, Mayor Jacob FreyHollywood, CAIR, Derek Chauvin & Amy Klobuchar.

Keith Ellison is the defacto leader of ANTIFA & CAIR in Minnesota and Ilhan Omar is one of his creations. Keith Ellison & Ilhan Omar use the same “campaign manager” known for his expertise in “foreign money” handling, Tim Mynett.

Ilhan Omar even married Tim Mynett for spousal privilege after she married her gay brother for immigration fraud.

Ellison’s son, Jeremiah, who runs the Minneapolis City Council, just pledged his allegiance to ANTIFA & his plan to shut down the police department & replace it with “community out-reach.”

Keith Ellison is good friends with the LEADER of Portland’s Rose City ANTIFA, Luis Enrique Marquez, which flies the Communist flag.

Ellison converted to Islam in law school, was a student of Farrakhan, once defended cop killers, called for reparations & a separate country for black people within America, and wrote many racist articles under the name of Keith Hakim Mohammad X. He changed his name when he ran for office in Minnesota.

George Floyd & Derek Chauvin KNEW each other & worked security together at a Latino restaurant, called El Nuevo Rodeo, on Lake Street & 27th in Minneapolis.

The face of that restaurant, Maya Santamaria, with a history of problems, ran the business for the Sabri family who want to develop Lake Street for the refugee community as an extension of Cedar Riverside. Santamaria & Frey are good friends.

Sabri, from Jordan, is the developer behind the Somali mall on East Lake Street – and wants to build ANOTHER Somali mall on East Lake Street. His projects are backed by Ellison, Omar & Frey. Sabri has long wanted to build condominiums on Lake Street and been turned down.

Sundance reports that the El Nuevo Rodeo restaurant is likely a money-laundering & counterfeit money front for the Sabri family that was forced to close during COVID. El Nuevo was looted during the riots.

Omar Investments Inc. has owned El Nuevo Rodeo Cantina and night club since 1996.  The principle of Omar Investments Inc. is Muna Sabri. In 2001, Basim Sabri was captured by the FBI in a sting operation. The Sabris are a wealthy family with a history of bribing Minneapolis city officials.

Basim Sabri claimed that Abdi Warsame, who sits on Ellison’s Minneapolis City Council, took bribes from him.

Born in Somalia, Warsame was brought to Minnesota from London by Soros to master the absentee ballot vote in Minnesota and FLIP it blue. He began by running Cedar Riverside & turning it into a ballot making machine – which elected Ilhan Omar & Keith Ellison. He’s succeeded in controlling the vote in Minnesota through voter fraud & 3rd party ringers.

Derek Chauvin worked at El Nuevo Rodeo for 17 years. That puts Derek Chauvin showing up to work security at El Neuvo Rodeo right after the FBI busted Basim Sabri. Chauvin received a COMMENDATION medal after he arrested violent gang members outside El Nuevo Rodeo in 2008.

Cup Foods owner, Mahmoud Abumayyaleh, a Black Lives Matter activist from the Middle East, whose employee called the cops on George Floyd for passing a wet $20 counterfeit bill, knew George Floyd – who was a regular at the store. Who else did Mahmoud know? Cup Foods has a checkered past.

It was Mahmoud’s Facebook post that announced George’s death and called it a racist murder. The day after George’s death, Mahmoud went on every major network to tell his story and called for the immediate arrest of all 4 officers. His partners at CAIR did the same thing.

Within 6 hours after George died, a “community journalist” associated with Mahmoud and BLM had sent the “video” to the media & the family hired Ben Crumb, the attorney behind Trayvon Martin, and Shaun King of Black Lives Matters was ratcheting up the noise. Within 12 hours, Frey held a press conference with the MPD. Within 18 hours, all 4 officers were fired. An hour later, Frey led a Town Hall on the case. It’s like it was all planned ahead of time.

Members of CAIR “filmed” George Floyd’s death outside Cup Foods in Minneapolis and erected a large portrait of Floyd on the street. They wore Black Lives Matter shirts and handed out sambusas, or stuffed pastries, to mourners in Elliot Park in Minneapolis.

It took Frey 4 days to respond to the riots, after the entire city had been looted & burned, but within 6 hours he planned a press conference on the Floyd death? PLANNED.

There is body cam footage from all 4 officers which we’ve NEVER seen, only the cell phone video from a stranger and the Cup Foods surveillance video from a man who is anti-American, anti-police and works for Black Lives Matters. Why?

The first two officers on the scene, when called from Cup Foods about George Floyd passing a counterfeit $20 bill, were rookies, each with less than 4 shifts as police officers.

It was his FOURTH day as a police officer when Thomas Lane, 37, pulled his weapon on George Floyd and asked him to put his hands on the steering wheel of his car. Lane asked Floyd if he was ON something due to the foam coming out of his mouth. Floyd mumbled “I can’t breathe.”

,J Alexander Kueng, 26, is a rookie cop who was working his THIRD SHIFT EVER as a police officer when he encountered George Floyd. He stood on the passenger side of Floyd’s car, while Lane held a gun on him. Kueng, who identifies as an African-American, now faces 40 years in prison for the so-called “racist murder” of a fellow African-American.

Chauvin and his partner showed up late to the scene and helped the two rookies try to maneuver Floyd into the patrol car. They failed. Chauvin pulled him to the ground and kneeled on him.

Look at this photo of Chauvin 2 years ago with his wife, a Laos refugee, who ran for Mrs Minnesota in 2018. And this photo of the original mug shot compared to the kneeler. What happened to Chauvin?

Not only was Chauvin employed by El Nuevo Rodeo for 17 years, he and he wife are real estate agents, own a home in Minnesota AND Florida, are residents of Florida and run an AirBNB there. Up until last week, Chauvin’s wife said he was the “most gentle” man she’s ever known. Now she filed for divorce and said he’s a murderer. Quite a shift in a short period.

Even more confusing, the media is now claiming Chauvin is a Republican who committed voter fraud while being a Florida resident. Think about that latest spin to tie Trump & Republicans to his actions.

George Floyd had sickle cell anemia & heart disease & lethal levels of fentanyl & heroin in his body as well as meth, speed & marijuana in his body at the time of death. No one mentions this at all. Why? The autopsy says he died at 9:25PM – after he was transported to the hospital.

Sickle cell anemia reduces oxygen to your brain & tissues and lowers life expectancy by over 20 years in a HEALTHY individual. Fentanyl slows oxygen to your brain & both meth & speed can cause cardiac arrest.

The autopsy was performed on May 26th but the actual report was not released to the public until days later, AFTER cities were torched & burned. The toxicology report was complete on May 31st but the results were quietly released to the public on June 4th. Why?

Floyd tested positive for COVID two months ago, so he DID NOT die from that. He had recovered & had anti-bodies. That was another fake narrative to cover the drugs.

Floyd held a gun to a pregnant woman’s stomach, while ransacking her home for money & drugs in Texas in 2007 & served 5 years in prison for armed robbery. He came to Minnesota in 2014 when he got out. How did he get a job working security with Chauvin? Who did his background check?

George Floyd was a porn star – his screen name was BIG FLOYD – and his “work” appeared on a Middle-Eastern porn site called Habib…

Klobuchar declined to prosecute Derek Chauvin for a police shooting that took place in 2006 that went to a grand jury. He was later cleared. So she knew who he was.

If people think Communists wouldn’t drug, murder or pay someone to be a patsy to start a race riot to get rid of the police, rig an election and engineer a murder for the cameras, you need to get out in the real world!

Immigrant families struggle to pay tuition at UT Austin after Texas Dream Act is repealed

Mariel and her mother are among those families dragging suitcases and carrying boxes as UT students return to campus the weekend before the first day of class.

The college senior is moving into an apartment for the first time. It’s supposed to be exciting, but Mariel is a mixed bag of emotions.

Until a couple weeks ago, Mariel didn’t know if she could go back to school.

In June, the U.S. Department of Justice sued Texas to end access to in-state tuition for students without legal status, arguing the Texas Dream Act discriminated against U.S. citizens. Within hours, the state conceded.

KUT News is using Mariel’s first name only because of privacy concerns over her immigration status.

Mariel had been set to graduate from UT Austin next spring with two degrees, one in biology and another in Spanish. She would be a step closer to becoming a doctor.

“That was the one thing that I felt like I had, [it] was my education. That’s the one thing I thought I had that would never be taken away from me,” Mariel said. “And for that to happen, it was like … I was crushed.”

After they heard the news, Mariel’s family tried to stay positive. They thought maybe it would take a while for the state to eliminate the program. But in mid-July, university officials asked Mariel for proof of lawful status to keep paying in-state tuition.

“I’m not considered a Texas resident, so I have nothing,” she said.

Mariel was born in Mexico but grew up in Texas. During her first three years of college, she paid in-state tuition and could get financial aid through the Texas Dream Act. She and her family paid about $13,000 a year for her dorm and meals.

Even that required a big effort, Mariel said. Her parents each worked two jobs. But her mom, Mireya, said it was worth it.

“We’d have to limit ourselves. But as long as it was for her education, so she could have a better life than us, then we didn’t mind,” she said. KUT is also using only her first name because of privacy concerns.

With the Texas Dream Act repealed, Mariel’s tuition went from $11,000 — which she would pay with financial aid — to $22,500 without financial aid, which she also lost access to.With living expenses, Mariel’s family would have to pay $29,500 a semester. And since she still had a year to go, that meant close to $59,000.

The annual income for the family of six is about $40,000.

Mariel is one of the about 57,000 students enrolled in Texas public universities who were affected the lawsuit ending the Texas Dream Act.

According to the organization Every Texan, in 2021, students without legal status were awarded $10.6 million in financial aid. But that same year, students without legal status paid $71 million in tuition and other fees.

Barbara Hines, the former director of the Texas Law School Immigration Clinic at UT Austin, helped push for the Texas Dream Act over 20 years ago. She said keeping these families from accessing in-state tuition has repercussions beyond higher education institutions.

“The business community supported the in-state tuition because it leads to a qualified workforce,” she said. “So this is really bad for the community.”

The Texas Immigration Council estimates the state could lose over $460 million in economic activity every year: $244.4 million in lost wages and $216.9 million in spending power.

The group said a college degree increases the earning potential by 57% for students without legal status.

“Why would you want to deny kids who have lived their entire lives the opportunity to go to college,” Hines said.

Passage of the Texas Dream Act in 2001 was a bipartisan effort backed by Republican Gov. Rick Perry. Then, 22 other states and the District of Columbia followed Texas in making college more affordable for students without legal status.

Now, advocates worry that just as Texas set a precedent to pass the law, other sates may soon follow in taking away in-state tuition. So far, the federal administration has filed lawsuits against Kentucky, Minnesota and Oklahoma.

Immigrant groups, students and higher education institutions like Austin Community College, have tried fighting the decision in Texas courts. But so far their efforts have not been successful.

Mariel is the only child in her family who is not a U.S. citizen. She was brought to the U.S. when she was 14 months old. Her parents wanted her to have more opportunities. But now, Mireya said she sometimes feels guilty.

“I was the one that brought her here. She didn’t decide to come. She’s not guilty of anything,” Mireya said. “For her, this is her world.”

Two weeks before classes started, Mireya and her husband decided their daughter’s dreams couldn’t be taken away just like that. They had worked too hard to get where they are now. So, they took out a $15,000 loan from a family friend.

Advocates don’t know how many students were unable to pay out-of-state tuition and had to drop out.

But even though she’s back in school, Mariel has had to make some adjustments. She dropped her Spanish degree and is trying to finish her biology degree in the fall semester by taking eight classes.

“I have mixed feelings. I’m happy to be back and to be able to finish my degree,” she said. “But I feel a lot of guilt for making my parents pay that much.”

Her mother took on a third job cleaning offices. And her dad, who does landscaping, has also increased his work hours.

“I’ve told my husband, I won’t be happy until my girl can achieve the dreams we have in mind,” Mireya said. “Until then, I won’t be at peace.”

Mariel is hopeful things will change, and she’ll be able to go to medical school in Texas. If not, she has considered getting her degree in Mexico — a country she hasn’t been to in almost two decades.

The Trump Trap: Turning the Left Into Pavlov’s Dogs

The president has barely broken a sweat in coaxing leftists to reveal just who they are.

The multiple ceasefires and peace deals Trump has brokered between long-time enemies? Well, we’ll just react as we did with the Abraham Accords in the Middle East and ignore them, focusing instead on how Trump has failed to end the war in Ukraine – a war that began under Biden. And we can throw in a bit more about how Trump just loves Vladimir Putin, whose interference, as we know, handed the 2016 election to Trump – just ask Hillary Clinton. And we will also ignore the trillions in foreign investments attracted by Trump; we’ll just act as if that isn’t happening. Trump’s tariffs, designed to level the playing field on trade and bring in trillions in revenue going forward? Let’s shriek about the certainty that this will immediately cause a spike in inflation.

In fairness, these Democrats are often prone to inflicting harm on themselves without being baited by the president. The annual summer meeting of the Democratic National Committee? Let’s kick it off with a land acknowledgement to show our solidarity with Native Americans of centuries past. Oh, and then we’ll send out Tim Walz to demonstrate afresh what a brilliant choice he was to run with Kamala Harris, who didn’t even bother to show up for the festivities. And we’ll cheer Walz as he engages in repeated profanity and attacks the size of Trump’s ankles (cankles is the operative word). Yeah, that’s it – let’s make fun of the president’s circulatory ailment – Americans love it when we ridicule people for their medical issues. Then, let’s cheer when Walz follows that up by announcing that he won’t be “petty.” And let’s top it off with a real doozy, a left-wing minister saying that if you don’t support DEI, you’re not a Christian.

Trump and Pavlovian Democrats

The beat goes on. Democrats are trapped in their own vile hatred and willful ignorance of an electorate no longer tolerating the wokeness they unleashed upon the country during the Biden era. The expression “Pavlov’s dogs” refers to experiments on man’s best friends that led to the discovery of classical conditioning, or associative learning. By pairing a neutral stimulus (like a bell) with an unconditioned stimulus (food), dogs learned to associate the bell with food and would salivate at the sound of the bell alone, demonstrating a conditioned response. Is this not the single most precise analogy to today’s left?

LN News: Now on Roku and Fire

Politics is supposed to be hard. It certainly was for Trump as a novice a decade ago, when he was sucker-punched by the left day after day. But this time around, with the full cooperation of the Democratic Party, a fully seasoned President Donald J. Trump has barely broken a sweat in luring his enemies into revealing exactly who they are.  In the Bible, God promises believers to “restore the years the locusts have eaten.” Trump ran for president to effect just such a restoration to a country spiraling off the rails. Little did he realize that the Pavlovian Democrats would provide him with such a heaping helping of unwitting aid and comfort.

Liberty Nation does not endorse candidates, campaigns, or legislation, and this presentation is no endorsement.

It’s been like taking candy from a baby. President Trump, armed with a thorough understanding of the left’s debilitating and seemingly incurable Trump Derangement Syndrome (the clinical designation is TDS), has been shamelessly and effortlessly baiting his sworn enemies into loudly opposing his many initiatives supported by strong or even overwhelming majorities of the American people. It has almost been too easy.In fact, the president has turned it into an art form. He realizes that all he needs to do to coax leftists into adopting the very positions that cost them dearly in the election last November is to propose something, anything, popular with the public, secure in the knowledge that Democrats will loudly oppose it. Call it the Trump trap.

And the Dems still fall for it every time, behaving as if the 2024 election was nothing more than a bad dream. Close the border and stop illegal immigration dead in its tracks? We must protest and call him a racist. Round up and deport criminal aliens? Let’s unleash violent demonstrations against it and turn an alleged wife-beater, gang banger, and sex trafficker into our new icon. Prohibiting men from competing against women in sports? Oh, we will definitely vote against that, and overwhelmingly so. The Laken Riley Act, which orders the deportation of illegal aliens charged with crimes? No way we’re getting on board with that. Send the National Guard into DC, a move that immediately reduced assaults, murders, and carjackings? Let’s start calling Trump – again – a fascist, dictator, authoritarian, or, as Joe Biden would say: you know, the thing.

We’re Just Getting Started

There’s more material on this subject than can be contained in a single article, but let’s give it the old college try. Defunding sanctuary cities and states? Let’s double down on the critical importance of shielding illegal aliens, especially the criminals among them, from law enforcement. And let’s send out the poster child for lawlessness and homelessness, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, to try and imitate the inimitable Trump with vitriolic all-caps messages. And by all means, let’s repeat our decades-long mantra: The immigration system is “broken” and in need of “comprehensive immigration reform.” Oh, and while we’re at it, let’s renew our perpetually empty call for a “two-state solution” in the Middle East. And we can never be heard uttering a discouraging word about Hamas.

We must attack the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) because nothing needs to change in Washington, and defend the civil service because, you know, Americans love their federal employees. And we must fight against Trump’s efforts to end campus antisemitism by threatening to reduce federal funding to these far-left institutions. Who doesn’t love progressive radicals influencing young Americans on campus and those Marxist academics lecturing us from the comfort of their faculty lounges?

Ending cashless bail that allows accused criminals out on their own recognizance? Racist for sure. Firing a member of the Fed who, evidence strongly suggests, has engaged in mortgage fraud while, in a delicious irony, she helps to set mortgage rates for the country? Well, that’s both racist and misogynistic. Deep-sixing Iran’s nuclear threat with bunker-busting bombs? Well, that’s probably illegal in some way, and it won’t set their program back by more than a few months.

Exclusive – Netanyahu: You Can’t be ‘MAGA’ If You’re Anti-Israel

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Breitbart News on Wednesday in an exclusive interview that the antisemitism that has grown on the political right is not only anti-Israel, but anti-American and anti-Trump.

Netanyahu addressed the problem he referred to as the “woke right,” which arose as some conservative pundits — including a few who had once been supportive of Israel — opposed Israel in the “12-Day War” against Iran, as well as any American involvement on Israel’s side.

The issue arose in a discussion of antisemitism, which has become familiar on the left in recent years, and is resurgent on the right:

Breitbart News: Antisemitism has been rising around the world, and many of us had become used to seeing it on the extreme left, but now it does seem to be rising on the right as well — and not just from traditional sources on the right, the neo-Nazi fringe and so forth, but there are in the United States, certain popular conservative commentators who appear to have drifted in that direction. Where is that coming from? Is that based on foreign influence? Is it religiously based, somehow? Where is it coming from, in your view, and how do you stop it?

Netanyahu: There’s been a lot of foreign influence over the last two decades. There have been NGOs [non-governmental organizations] from various corners, … primarily from Europe, but also from from Qatar. That is, you know, spent billions on American universities, vilifying, vilifying Israel, vilifying Jews, and also, frankly, vilifying the United States. Because if you open Al Jazeera in Arabic, not in English, and you just track it over the years, it’s been horrible. It’s been antisemitic, anti Israeli, anti American, and all that was left to accumulate primarily in academia, you know, and from there, it sort of distributes itself elsewhere.

But I can tell you this: look, the Jewish people have had this problem of vilification for for thousands of years, and we were accused of everything. In the Middle Ages, we were accused of killing Christian children and using their blood, okay? I mean, and these lies, these, these horrible blood libels always preceded massacres. They spread from one country to the other, and there was very little we could do about it. We were vilified, and then we were massacred, until this culminated in the worst massacre of them all — the Holocaust. The Nazis said we were spreading vermin — you know, just like in the Middle Ages. What has changed since the rise of Israel is not this vilification and not these cycles of latent antisemitism that burst forth from time to time, as it’s happening now. What has changed is that it’s not followed by massacre[s], because when they try, as they did on October 7, Hamas tried, we’re able to fend them off, defend ourselves and defeat our enemies. That’s the change that Israel has brought. But I think we have the continuous battle for truth, and I appreciate the opportunity that you have given me to tell the truth.

And let me say one more thing — you talked about the “woke right”? Some of these people call themselves MAGA [Make America Great Again]. They’re not MAGA. If you support Iran, Iran tried to kill President Trump twice, not once, but twice. Iran has put a price on his head. … That’s Iran. Iran has murdered, has killed and wounded more Americans, thousands of them, in Iraq and in Afghanistan with their explosive devices. They killed 251 American Marines in Beirut. They bombed American embassies. They burn American flags. They chant, “Death to America.” The first thing they did when this regime took power was to take over 50 hostages in the American embassy.

Iran wants to annihilate the United States. Israel is the best ally of the United States.

Israel is fighting Iran, and you can’t be MAGA if you’re pro Iran, you can’t be MAGA if you’re anti-Israel. President Trump understands this, and he stands very strongly with us. And I, you know, I really appreciate the straightforward and courageous way that he he faces people, sometimes in his own constituency, because that’s what leaders, from time to time, have to do.

Since taking office, Trump has launched the most aggressive campaign against antisemitism in American history, focusing on university campuses but also fighting anti-Jewish hatred in the media and in politics.

Pope Leo Tells Catholic Politicians: You Can’t be Catholic and Pro-Abortion

Pope Leo XIV has issued a clarion call to Catholic politicians worldwide, urging them to align their actions with the Church’s teachings on the sanctity of life.

This new message follows on the heels of a recent pro-life message where the Pope emphasized the need to reject “voices of death” and embrace a culture of life.

Pope Leo firmly rejected the false notion of Catholic politicians saying they are “personally pro-life” but voting for abortion: “There is no division within the personality of a public figure: there is not on one side the politician, and on the other the Christian.”

“Rather, there is the politician who, under the gaze of God and of his conscience, lives out his commitments and his responsibilities in a Christian manner,” he said.

Please follow LifeNews on Rumble for the latest pro-life videos.

You are therefore called to strengthen yourselves in faith, to deepen your knowledge of doctrine—particularly of social doctrine—which Jesus taught to the world, and to put it into practice in the exercise of your responsibilities and in the drafting of laws. Its foundations are fundamentally in harmony with human nature, with the natural law that all can recognize, even non-Christians, even non-believers. You must not therefore fear to propose it and to defend it with conviction: it is a doctrine of salvation that seeks the good of every human being, the building of societies that are peaceful, harmonious, prosperous, and reconciled.

The Holy Father therefore told them: “The first—and the only—advice that I shall give you is this: unite yourselves ever more closely to Jesus, live from Him, and bear witness to Him.”

In “certain Western societies where Christ and His Church are marginalized, often ignored, and sometimes ridiculed,” he said, “only union with Jesus—Jesus crucified!—will give you the courage to suffer for His name.”

Addressing a global audience, Pope Leo XIV called on Catholic politicians to reflect the Church’s teachings in their legislative decisions, particularly on issues like abortion, euthanasia, and the treatment of the vulnerable. This message indirectly challenges Catholic politicians to uphold the sacredness of life in their public roles, aligning their policies with the Church’s moral framework.

Pope Leo’s pro-life stance is not new. As Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, he condemned abortion and advocated for compassion toward the unborn, elderly, and disabled. In a 2025 homily in the Suburbicarian Diocese of Albano, he declared, “God’s mercy calls us to protect every life, especially those society overlooks—the child yet to be born and the elderly nearing their journey’s end—because each bears Christ’s face.”

The pontiff’s words carry particular weight in the context of ongoing global debates over abortion and end-of-life issues. His call to reject “voices of death” is seen by pro-life advocates as a direct challenge to policies that undermine the sanctity of life.

Libertarian Party of North Carolina Denounces Federal Overreach Under Trump Administration

The Libertarian Party of North Carolina has denounced what it calls a dangerous expansion of federal power under the Trump administration, warning that recent policing actions by the government undermine constitutional rights and “erode the foundations” of a free society.

In a statement published August 19, LPNC Chair Ryan Brown said that recent domestic-policing measures by the administration reflect a “blatant disregard for the rights of American citizens.” He pointed specifically to the deployment of military personnel in California and Washington, D.C., calling them violations of the Posse Comitatus Act, a federal law limiting the use of armed forces in domestic law enforcement. Brown argued that such policing should be carried out by “properly trained and accountable civilian agencies.”

The statement also criticized reports of stop-and-frisk tactics in Washington, D.C., stating the practice violates Fourth Amendment protections, disproportionately targets minority communities, and has not proven effective in reducing crime. Additional referenced concerns include federal efforts to criminalize homelessness, which the party described as inhumane and counterproductive, and the use of unmarked, unidentifiable, masked, and armed federal agents to detain residents, a tactic it likened to those of authoritarian regimes.

The statement also questioned what it called misplaced security priorities. Brown contrasted “reduced protective measures” for Ghislaine Maxwell and secrecy surrounding the Jeffrey Epstein case with stepped-up domestic-policing measures, arguing that resources are being shifted away from high-profile criminal cases toward policies the party said diminish civil liberties.

Brown said the state party remains committed to promoting individual freedom and limited government, and called for immediate steps to restore accountability and transparency in law enforcement, strengthen civil-liberties protections, and address what he described as the “root causes of social problems.” He urged elected officials to voice similar opposition.

“We call on all elected officials, regardless of party affiliation, to stand up against these abuses of power and defend the rights of all Americans,” Brown continued. “We urge the Trump administration to immediately cease these unconstitutional and dangerous practices.”
