Senators Risch and Paul introduce bill to audit the Federal Reserve

BOISE, Idaho – U.S. Senators Jim Risch of Idaho and Rand Paul of Kentucky have introduced the Federal Reserve Transparency Act, commonly referred to as the “Audit the Fed” legislation. This bill aims to mandate a comprehensive audit of the Federal Reserve’s operations and enhance congressional oversight of its decision-making processes.

“Idahoans deserve to know what the Federal Reserve is doing to our nation’s economy,” said Risch. “Congress must hold the Fed accountable and pull back the curtain on the actions of this unelected Washington establishment.”

Paul emphasized the significant influence of the Federal Reserve, stating, “No institution holds more power over the future of the American economy and the value of our savings than the Federal Reserve. It’s long past time for Congress to stop shirking its duty and hold the Federal Reserve accountable.”

The proposed legislation would require the independent Government Accountability Office (GAO) to perform a full audit of the Board of Governors and the Federal Reserve Banks within one year of the bill’s enactment. The GAO would then be required to report its findings to Congress within 90 days of completing the audit.

What Comes Next After “Very Good, Early Steps” in President Trump’s Russia-Ukraine Peace Talks?

President Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and a contingent of European leaders at the White House on August 18, laying groundwork for potential peace in the Russia-Ukraine war that has dragged on for nearly four years under the previous administration’s watch. Trump characterized the discussions as “a very good, early step” in negotiations, highlighting commitments on security guarantees for Ukraine primarily from European nations “in coordination with the United States.”

In a post on Truth Social following the meetings, Trump noted that Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and special envoy Steve Witkoff are spearheading follow-up conversations with both Moscow and Kyiv.

“Everyone is very happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine,” he stated.

This comes as a stark contrast to the Biden-Harris era’s approach, which poured billions in taxpayer-funded aid into the conflict without a clear path to resolution, leaving Americans footing the bill for what many conservatives see as an endless foreign entanglement.

Trump revealed he had already reached out to Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss arranging a direct meeting with Zelenskyy at a yet-to-be-determined location. If successful, this bilateral encounter could lead to a trilateral summit involving Trump himself—a format Zelenskyy has expressed openness to. “We confirmed that we are ready for a trilateral meeting,” the Ukrainian leader told reporters after the session. “And if Russia proposed to the President of the United States bilateral, and then we will see the result of the bilateral, then it can be trilateral. So I said, always, Ukraine will never stop on the way to peace, and we are ready for any kind of format but on the level of leaders.”

The Kremlin acknowledged the Trump-Putin call, noting discussions on elevating “the level of direct Russian-Ukrainian negotiations,” though it stopped short of confirming Putin’s full commitment. Trump emphasized that a ceasefire isn’t a prerequisite for progress, pushing back against critics who insist on one before talks can advance. This pragmatic stance underscores his deal-making style, which prioritizes results over rigid preconditions that have stalled diplomacy in the past

Security guarantees emerged as a core topic, with Trump insisting that Europe shoulder the main responsibility for Ukraine’s defense post-peace deal.

“We’re not giving anything. We’re selling weapons,” he reiterated earlier in the week, aligning with conservative principles of fiscal responsibility and avoiding free handouts.

Reports indicate Ukraine has proposed purchasing up to $100 billion in American-made arms, financed by European partners—a move that could boost U.S. jobs while ensuring allies pull their weight.

During the Oval Office gathering, Trump and Zelenskyy reviewed maps of the front lines, where Russian forces occupy roughly 20% of Ukrainian territory. This visual aid likely facilitated candid talks on potential land adjustments, such as Ukraine potentially ceding Crimea in exchange for peace and dropping its NATO aspirations—options Trump has floated as immediate war-enders. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev mocked European leaders for failing to “outplay” Trump in these negotiations, suggesting the president’s firm hand is shifting dynamics in America’s favor.

Trump’s proactive diplomacy stands out after years of what conservatives decry as weak leadership from Washington, which allowed the conflict to escalate without accountability. By engaging Putin directly and coordinating with allies, he’s positioning the U.S. as a strong mediator rather than an open-checkbook donor.

“Again, this was a very good, early step for a war that has been going on for almost four years,” Trump said, signaling optimism for a resolution that prioritizes American interests first. As follow-ups unfold, this could mark the beginning of the end for a war that has cost countless lives and strained global stability.

Former AG Bill Barr Says, “No Way is POTUS Donald Trump Implicated in the Epstein Files.”

🚨

BREAKING: Former AG Bill Barr testified under oath today that President Trump is in NO WAY implicated in the Epstein files, and if he was, Biden would’ve leaked it That narrative is now out the window, as Barr would ABSOLUTELY take down Trump if he could. “[Barr] said that he had never seen anything that would implicate President Trump in any of this, and that if there had been anything pertaining to President Trump with respect to the Epstein list, that he felt like the Biden administration would probably have leaked it out,” House Oversight Chairman@JamesComer said.

Hamas Accepts a New Ceasefire Deal

Hamas has apparently accepted the terms of a ceasefire deal similar to one that was proposed last month but never put in place. The deal would free some remaining hostages in exchange for more than 200 Palestinian prisoners.

In a statement, Hamas said it had accepted the new proposal presented on Sunday by Qatar and Egypt.

Basem Naim, a senior member of Hamas’ political bureau, said on social media, “The movement has accepted the new proposal from the mediators. We pray that God extinguishes the fires of this war on our people.”

Two Israeli officials told CNN that Israel had received the Hamas response from mediators. One of the Israeli officials said that the government’s position had not changed, which includes calling for the release of all the hostages, the disarming of Hamas, and Israeli security control of the besieged territory…

A senior Hamas official told CNN the proposal calls for the release of 10 living hostages and 18 deceased hostages. The hostages will be released in exchange for 140 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 60 serving sentences of more than 15 years. Israel will also release all Palestinian minors and female prisoners, the official said.

There are an estimated 50 remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza, with only 20 of them believed to be alive. So Hamas is essentially offering half of the remaining hostages in exchange for hundreds of convicts. This is apparently very similar to an agreement Israel had accepted last month.

The latest terms are similar to those that Israel had previously accepted and they include both a temporary cease-fire and a path to an agreement to end the war, according to the two diplomats and the Egyptian official…

Israel has agreed in the past to the release of half of the hostages believed to be alive in Gaza in exchange for Palestinian prisoners as part of an initial cease-fire, and to the release of the remaining hostages as part of a comprehensive follow-up deal.

However, that deal never happened and now Israel has said it’s not interested any longer in a deal that doesn’t free all of the hostages.

“I think that is behind us,” he told the Hebrew-language channel of i24 News.

Steve Witkoff, the Trump administration’s special envoy to the Middle East, told families of Israeli hostages this month at a meeting that President Trump now wanted to see all the living hostages released at once.

“No piecemeal deals, that doesn’t work,” Mr. Witkoff said, according to an audio recording of part of the meeting published by the Ynet Hebrew news site.

It’s pretty clear why Hamas is suddenly interested in this deal. Netanyahu has made it clear he intends to take over Gaza City unless Hamas surrenders and disarms.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu assured Israelis Saturday night that he only plans to halt the takeover of Gaza City if Hamas agrees to all of the Jewish state’s demands for ending the war — after the terror group reportedly signaled it was open to a partial cease-fire for the first time.

“We will agree to a deal on the condition that all the hostages are released in a single phase and in accordance with our terms for ending the war,” read the statement from Netanyahu’s office.

Those terms include the disarming of Hamas soldiers, the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip, Israeli control of the Gaza perimeter, and the installation of non-Hamas and non-Palestinian Authority governance that will live in peace with the Jewish state, according to the prime minister.

This morning, President Trump posted something on Truth Social indicating he supported the eradication of Hamas.

Lying Isn’t Good for the Liar

People think that a liar gains a victory over his victim. What I’ve learned is that a lie is an act of self-abdication, because one surrenders one’s reality to the person to whom one lies, making that person one’s master, condemning oneself from then on to faking the sort of reality that person’s view requires to be faked…The man who lies to the world, is the world’s slave from then on…There are no white lies, there is only the blackest of destruction, and a white lie is the blackest of all.”

Deranged woman arrested after threatening to ‘sacrificially kill’ President Trump in unhinged social media posts

By Victor Nava

A deranged woman was hit with federal charges Monday after threatening to kill President Trump in a disturbing social media post and subsequent interview with the Secret Service.

Nathalie Rose Jones, 50, was arrested on Saturday after she made the threats on Facebook and Instagram and then traveled from New York to Washington, DC, with the goal of having Trump “eliminated” if the opportunity presented itself, DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro said Monday.

“I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea with Liz Cheney and all The Affirmation present,” Jones allegedly wrote in an Aug. 6 Facebook post directed at the FBI, according to prosecutors.

Jones later urged Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, in an Aug. 14 Facebook post, to “please arrange the arrest and removal ceremony of POTUS Trump as a terrorist on the American People from 10-2pm at the White House on Saturday, August 16th, 2025.”

The Secret Service, which had been aware of the woman’s social media activity since Aug. 2, arranged to interview Jones the day after her message for Hegseth.

Jones told the Secret Service during a voluntary Aug. 15 interview that if she had the chance, she would “carry out her mission of killing” the president at  “the compound” with a “bladed object.”

The woman told agents that she sought to “avenge all the lives lost during the Covid-19 pandemic” and also referred to Trump as a “terrorist” and a “nazi.”

Jones was arrested the following day after participating in a protest near the White House.

The Secret Service interviewed Jones after the march, and she admitted to making threats against Trump.

Jones, however, denied having any “present desire to harm” the commander in chief, according to the DC US attorney’s office.

“Threatening the life of the President is one of the most serious crimes and one that will be met with swift and unwavering prosecution,” Pirro said in a statement.

“Make no mistake — justice will be served,” she added.

Jones, who is from Lafayette, Ind., was charged in the US District Court for Washington, DC, with threatening to take the life of, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon the President of the United States, and transmitting in interstate commerce communications containing threats to kidnap any person or any threat to injure the person of another.

The White House did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.

For Putin, an outbreak of peace means certain death. Like any gangster, he has only one hope of survival

More than a million Russians have been killed or seriously wounded on the battlefields of Ukraine. But there is one man who owes his life to the continuing slaughter.

For Vladimir Putin, an outbreak of peace means certain death – by assassination, overthrow and execution, or in an international prison cell as a war criminal.

The Russian president’s only credible hope of survival in the gangster state he has himself created is to prolong the ‘special military operation’ in Ukraine or to win in such outrageously successful terms that he can turn his attention to other former client states, other victims.

Survival, after all, was Putin’s objective in launching the invasion in 2022.

In his interminable ramblings about history, the Russian president makes great pretence that all of Ukraine – not just the eastern regions of Donbas, Donetsk and Crimea – is part of Russia‘s empire.

Putin claims that it is his mission to reunite former territories while denying Kyiv the chance to join the Nato alliance with the West.

From the point of view of Russian interests, these might seem to make sense as a rationale for the war.

But if rationales can change, Putin’s true, cynical motives cannot.

His strategy for clinging to power – and thus to life – comes directly from Niccolo Machiavelli, the calculating philosopher who wrote the handbook for dictators.

War, he taught, is the one essential lever of power. And the psychopathic Putin can use this lever particularly effectively because he is willing to sacrifice millions of lives in his own interests – those of Russians, Ukrainians, Europeans and even Americans if necessary.

Europe is fortunate that Ukraine has proven such a dogged and courageous adversary. If the Ukrainians had not fought so ferociously against an enemy who outnumbers them many times over, Putin would have turned his war machine on another target – quite probably Poland.

War is the reason he has remained Russia’s ruler for more than 25 years. If he had not been able to create distractions, he would have been booted out of office long ago.

Standards of living have been slowly eroded to the point that many people are worse off than they were even under the Soviet government.

Russia’s economy has stalled, inflation has soared to 10 per cent and even the country’s much-touted energy revenues are in decline.

Corruption is too weak a word to describe the wholesale plundering that replaced Communist bureaucracy. Russia is the ultimate mafia state and Putin is its godfather.

I have good reason to know. There has been a price on my head since 2005, when I was denied entry to Russia and put on a wanted list in a naked bid by Putin to take control of my asset management firm and steady and steal $230 million of taxes my business had paid to the Russian government.

Four years later, my lawyer and close friend Sergei Magnitsky was beaten to death in a Russian isolation cell for exposing this vast fraud.

Murder by the state has become so common in Russia that the death of any prominent figure is widely assumed to be an assassination – typically by car bomb, poisoning or falling from a high window.

Putin is paranoid about his personal safety – and with good cause.

As instability rumbles, he will be all-too aware of the threats that loom from anti-government activists, foreign ‘enemies’ and even power-hungry officials inside his own tent.

One way or another, it is very likely that when he leaves the Kremlin, it will be in a coffin.

Like any gangster, Putin’s primary instinct is for survival. After that comes money.

When he flew to Alaska for the so-called peace talks last Friday, he had two real objectives: to avoid financial penalties; and re-establish himself as a respected international power-broker. In both of these aims, he succeeded.

In truth, Donald Trump had already been outmanoeuvred before the US presidential jets touched down in Anchorage. He had boxed himself into a corner by repeatedly boasting before last year’s elections that he was going to end the war in 24 hours.

When that proved impossible, Trump issued a series of ultimatums, with much tub-thumping about tariffs, sanctions and taxes if Putin did not agree to a ceasefire. Each of those deadlines passed without consequences.

Trump had already lost much of his leverage when he ceased sending military aid to Ukraine.

And when Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky was bullied in front of the cameras at the White House in February, Putin knew he had carte blanche to continue waging war indefinitely.

But this did not guarantee that the Kremlin delegation could safely thumb their noses at the Trump administration on American soil.

The US President does have the power, after all, to cripple Russia’s economy if he chooses. This cannot be done by direct measures. But, indirectly, Trump can wield financial doomsday weapons.

By threatening China, India and Brazil with sky-high tariffs, he can make it impossible for Moscow’s major trading partners to keep doing business with Russian companies. And, with no one to buy his oil and gas or send him weapons, Putin would swiftly be finished.

Friday’s so-called summit, then, was an opportunity for the Kremlin to ensure the disaster didn’t happen. So, Putin gave Trump everything he needed – starting with praise. The war would never have happened, he said, if Trump had been President in 2022.

Every gangster needs a fall-guy, and former president Joe Biden fits that bill.

Next, Putin offered empty pledges that his goal was peace.

The only obstacle, he said, was Ukraine’s war-mongering government. This has been his disingenuous position from the outset: if the Ukrainians would simply accept they have no right to independence, Russia could rule their country without any need for violence.

Finally, and behind the scenes, he will have ensured Trump is fully rewarded. We don’t know what private deals might have been done under the table in regard, for example, to Ukraine’s mineral wealth.

We don’t know what private deals might have been done under the table in regard, for example, to Ukraine’s mineral wealth.

We also know he accepted a luxury Boeing 747 worth an estimated $400 million – complete with gold-coloured walls and furnishings – from the Qatari royal family when he signed up to a business partnership with them.

Whether Putin has found ways to outdo this, we do not know.

But however it was managed, Russia has avoided those Armageddon tariffs.

Yet that was only half of Putin’s agenda in Alaska. He was also intent on demonstrating his legitimacy as a world leader.

He could have been arrested as a war criminal the moment his plane landed. Right now, he should be where his crimes deserve – wearing an orange jumpsuit, shackled in a cage in Guantanamo Bay.

But there was never the slightest risk of that. Instead, he has flaunted his power, reminding the world that he is ‘untouchable’, however illusory – in reality – that might be.

For Russia is a laden juggernaut, labouring up a steep hill that never ends.

The driver dares not take his foot off the accelerator, because he will stall fatally – and be dragged out of the driving seat.

Putin has to keep going, ignoring the screams from the engine, mowing down anyone in his path.

And he will.

EXCLUSIVE: Immigration Chief Reveals What He Found In Aftermath Of Biden Admin

When U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Joe Edlow returned for another stint in the Trump administration, he expected to wrangle with a mess left by the Biden administration’s border crisis.

Soon, however, Edlow would be met with a surprise. Not only was USCIS forced to tackle a record-setting pile of asylum cases, but he was tasked with leading an agency that, for 4 years, did very little to address immigration fraud. The director has since buckled down on asylum fraud, identifying discrepancies in immigration programs and tightening election integrity.

“What I didn’t know was what some of our backlogs turned into,” Edlow said to the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Nominated by President Donald Trump in March and officially sworn into the position in July, Edlow took the reins of an agency put to the brink amid following 8.5 million migrant encounters along the southern border during the Biden era. Although largely unfazed by what he uncovered, the immigration chief says he was still taken aback by his predecessors’ sheer apathy for weeding out fraud.

Prior to leading the agency, Edlow had served as chief counsel and deputy director of USCIS during President Donald Trump’s first term in office. In July, he returned to a backlog of asylum cases that dwarfed the numbers he previously dealt with.

“We had about 450,000 cases that were pending on the asylum active docket,” Edlow said of the end of Trump’s first term. “When I got back, there were over 1.5 million cases.”

“Does anything surprise on me what they were doing? Yeah, what surprised me is they weren’t doing much,” he continued. “We already knew that there was a misalignment of priorities and resources, but that became painfully obvious that really USCIS was acting as kind of the the arm of the administration to help maneuver the parole programs, to do what they could on credible fear and to ultimately try to address the growing border crisis that the Bidens have created.”

Americans are painfully aware of the illegal immigration crisis that raged during most of President Joe Biden’s tenure.

Fiscal years 2023 and 2024 were the worst and second worst years, respectively, for inadmissible border encounters in history, according to Customs and Border Protection data, leading to an incredible strain of resources at border communities and major U.S. cities. Altogether, the Biden administration oversaw more than eight million migrant encounters along the U.S.-Mexico border during its four fiscal years in office.

Record-level immigration into the U.S. inevitably correlated to a monumental uptick in asylum claims, which are largely processed by USCIS.

There were roughly 311,000 pending affirmative asylum claims in January 2018, according to a Department of Homeland Security Inspector General report. By the end of fiscal year 2022 — well into Biden’s tenure — this number nearly doubled to 625,000. By 2024, the backlog of affirmative asylum cases surpassed one million for the first time in history.

Affirmative asylum claims are distinct from defensive asylum claims in that they are lodged by foreign nationals already in the U.S. and not in deportation proceedings, according to USCIS. Defensive asylum claims are made by those already undergoing removal.

As illegal immigration skyrocketed, leaving federal immigration agents and local officials scrambling to keep up, the Biden administration implemented a slate of programs that GOP critics characterized as amnesty run-arounds to alleviate the terrible optics taking place at the Mexico border.

The Biden White House launched the CHNV program, allowing more than half a million Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan and Venezuelan nationals to enter the U.S. Biden officials also revamped the CBP One app allowing foreign nationals to easily apply for asylum en masse, and extended deportation protections for a slate of countries, allowing their citizens to remain in the U.S.

Government officials that held the line against immigration fraud were largely given the boot, according to their accounts. A slate of Trump-appointed immigration judges were booted by the Biden administration, prompting GOP investigation at the time.

“I was punished by the Biden Administration for calling out fraudulent asylum claims while I was an Immigration Judge,” Matt O’Brien — who served as a judge during both the Trump and Biden administrations — said to the DCNF. O’Brien was fired by the Biden White House after establishing a tough record on asylum applicants.

Of the 288 asylum cases he decided, O’Brien granted asylum for 25, granted eight other types of relief and denied relief for 255, according to Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse data. This equated to a denial rate of 88.5%, well above the 57.7% average for all immigration court judges at the time, and a denial rate that earned him the disdain of open-border immigration activists.

“And that happened because open borders radicals love immigration fraud. They have treated it as a feature of the system, not a bug,” O’Brien said. “That’s why we currently have hundreds of thousands of Central Americans who have never experienced persecution getting asylum.”

O’Brien, who now serves as the deputy executive director of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, was among several Trump-appointed immigration judges given the boot during the Biden administration, prompting an investigation by congressional Republicans at the time.

Edlow, not at the helm of the country’s legal immigration system, believes there was a “get-to-yes mentality” among USCIS during the Biden era, paving the way for fraudulent claims to get through.

In contrast, the Trump administration has gone to great lengths to shore up its fraud enforcement apparatus.

In just the past few months, USCIS has implanted new measures to better prevent foreign nationals from voting in U.S. elections and has illustrated how Special Immigrant Juvenile program was rife with adult gangbangers, sexual predators and even alleged murders. However, the USCIS chief says they’ve only just begun cracking down.

“We’ve got to return the integrity of the immigration system, and that’s really a job for USCIS,” Edlow said to the DCNF.

Trump on Truth: “ I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS…”

I am going to lead a movement to get rid of MAIL-IN BALLOTS, and also, while we’re at it, Highly “Inaccurate,” Very Expensive, and Seriously Controversial VOTING MACHINES, which cost Ten Times more than accurate and sophisticated Watermark Paper, which is faster, and leaves NO DOUBT, at the end of the evening, as to who WON, and who LOST, the Election. We are now the only Country in the World that uses Mail-In Voting. All others gave it up because of the MASSIVE VOTER FRAUD ENCOUNTERED. WE WILL BEGIN THIS EFFORT, WHICH WILL BE STRONGLY OPPOSED BY THE DEMOCRATS BECAUSE THEY CHEAT AT LEVELS NEVER SEEN BEFORE, by signing an EXECUTIVE ORDER to help bring HONESTY to the 2026 Midterm Elections. They must do what the Federal Government, as represented by the President of the United States, tells them, FOR THE GOOD OF OUR COUNTRY, to do. With their HORRIBLE Radical Left policies, like Open Borders, Men Playing in Women’s Sports, Transgender and “WOKE” for everyone, and so much more, Democrats are virtually Unelectable without using this completely disproven Mail-In SCAM. ELECTIONS CAN NEVER BE HONEST WITH MAIL IN BALLOTS/VOTING, and everybody, IN PARTICULAR THE DEMOCRATS, KNOWS THIS. I, AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, WILL FIGHT LIKE HELL TO BRING HONESTY AND INTEGRITY BACK TO OUR ELECTIONS. THE MAIL-IN BALLOT HOAX, USING VOTING MACHINES THAT ARE A COMPLETE AND TOTAL DISASTER, MUST END, NOW!!!
