Three potentially interesting background notes on the Tara Reade story:

1. She is not merely alleging “sexual assault”. She is alleging rape. The FBI definition of rape is as follows:

“The penetration, no matter how slight, of the vagina or anus with any body part or object, or oral penetration by a sex organ of another person, without the consent of the victim.”

2. Title VII of the Civil rights Act prohibits harassment based on sex (among other protected classes) and that’s the Act the rest of the country was subject to starting in 1964,

The Civil Right Act of 1964 should have been the Civil Rights Act of 1963 but it was bottled up in Congress by Democratic Segregationists (but I repeat myself), notably , Howard W. Smith. After JFK was assassinated, Johnson challenged Congress to pass it as a memorial, but still it was held up by Democratic Segregationists and then filibustered by Democratic Segregationists, including Stom Thurmond, who said the Act was “reminiscent of the Reconstruction proposals and actions of the radical Republican Congress”.

Senate Republicans then crated a new bipartisan bill meant to defeat the filibuster but that too was filibustered, this time by the most senior (“former”) Ku Klu Klan member in Congress at the time, Senator Robert Byrd, Democrat.

The Republican bipartisan Act finally passed the Senate with 71 votes.

In fact that was the FIRST PLANK of the Contract with America and the Contract was so popular with ordinary Americans it helped the Republicans win the House for the first time in 53 years. And Republicans made good on their promise by passing the Congressional Accountability Act in 1996 which outlawed sexual harassment by Congressmen (in 1996!) and also outlawed retaliation against accusers for the first time.

Many people think the OCC process, while clear, is too slow, overly complicated, and insufficient to hold Comgressmen accountable. But that’s a story for another day.

For today, it’s sufficient to know that when Tara Reade worked for Joe Biden in 1993 there was no law against sexual harassment by Congressmen, and no clear process for staff who were victimized by Congressmen to follow.

So if the facts of her complaint seem unclear, that could indicate a hazy memory . Or, as Strom Thurmond and Robert Byrd’s successors in the Democratic party are already arguing, it could be indicate she is being dishonest.

But it could also very accurately indicate that because of the strenuous efforts of “former” KKK members, segregationist leaders and other type of Democrats in the 1964 Congress (if any), the Civil Rights Act was was almost never passed, watered down when it did pass and then specifically drafted to exempt the Congressmen themselves, so there was no clear process for Tara Reade to follow in 1993.

Below is the 5th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. How do they get around it? By calling it a time of “public danger”. Because they say so. For as long as they say so. The First Amendment lawyer famous for Citizens United has taken up arms against a new foe: all-mail voting.

Jim Bopp, Jr. filed two lawsuits in federal court this week — one in Nevada and one in Virginia — to stop officials in those states from mailing out ballots to everyone on the voter rolls, not just those who request them.

“I don’t use the word ‘voters,’” he says, “I use the word ‘people on the registration rolls’ because many of them are ineligible to vote. They’re not voters. They’re people that are on the registration rolls that are ineligible to vote.”

As the COVID-19 pandemic gripped the nation, Democratic officials and activists began pushing states to switch to voting by mail, eliminating in-person voting altogether — and probably permanently.

But organizations that have spent years reviewing the voter rolls in many states estimate that more than 20 million of the names nationwide are duplicates, people who have moved away, are deceased, non-citizens or felons who have not had their voting rights restored.

“Democrats have been trying to register everybody in the country and then fight purging the rolls of ineligible people, and now they want to mail ballots to every single one of them,” says Bopp. “It’s just like, talk about the most massive fraud scheme in the history of America. Makes Tammany Hall looks like a bunch of pikers, or the Pendergast Machine in Kansas City look like they didn’t even know how to steal elections.”

Earlier this month, Bopp filed a brief in New Mexico on behalf of the organization True the Vote and individual voters, whose votes could have been canceled out by the votes of ineligible voters if the court sided with plaintiffs — county clerks who wanted ballots mailed to everyone, not just those who’d requested them.

“What the parties request this court to do here is little else than pure anarchy that robs both the legislature and the eligible, registered voters of New Mexico of the authority and protections afforded each under the New Mexico [Constitution] and the United States Constitution,” the brief reads.

Bopp argued that the rights of voters were “imperiled” by the plaintiffs’ request and that the plaintiffs have attempted to “entice” the court to “utilize the national emergency created by the COVID-19 virus as a guise to usurp the constitutionally delegated authority of the legislature and overrule and replace current election laws with robust protections against voter fraud with a court-created scheme of mail-in balloting.”

The Supreme Court of New Mexico sided with Bopp and denied the request for ballots to be sent to all names on the rolls.

But now the push is on for all-mail voting in the November presidential election, as well. About a half dozen state have already legalized it.

“They are bringing suits all over the country to impose it through court orders,” says Bopp. “All-mail. Their ideal is all-mail.”

All-mail voting is not the same as absentee voting as voting absentee involves the voter requesting an absentee ballot, usually by mail, with a signature.

Some states have more stringent requirements than others. In Kansas, for example, people requesting an absentee ballot are required to send a copy of a driver’s license or State ID with the application for an absentee ballot.

“Part of the problem with this discussion is, we are familiar with absentee ballots, and that does involve quote mailing a ballot, end of quote,” says Bopp, “but there are numerous safeguards, the most important of which is the prior application. You have to apply.

“You have an audit trail, and all sorts of things. And that’s why a lot of these Democrats and liberal activists don’t like absentee ballot,” he says. “They want wholesale mailing out without application because it eliminates half the fraud protection.”

Notes from a blue state resident: Delaware is a low tax state, no thanks to the Democrats who now totally control it, and have for years. The low taxes/no sales tax status quo is a product of a Republican past. Our Democratic governor now seems surprised and outraged there’s a shortfall because he refuses to even talk about partially reopening the economy for at least a month (and probably not even then). He seems prepared to shut down the beach tourism that normally draws millions in the summer. It’s the best economic thing Delaware has going. He has the power to literally destroy the economy of this small state permanently, and doesn’t seem hesitant to use it. If it weren’t so tragic, it would be funny to watch him juggle with basic arithmetic. “Gee, I can’t spend as much because the economy is shut down. It’s shut down because of me. Because I care.” This blue state governor who generally copies New York and California has two options. One, blame Trump and the federal government … and like all Democrats, he’s doing that. Two, raise taxes. Here’s betting he will try. Raise taxes on WHOM or WHAT? How do you raise taxes when there’s virtually no economic activity? How about instituting a sales tax, since Delaware has no sales tax? Oops, hardly any stores are open. This will be interesting as well as painful to watch. Not just in Delaware, but in the socialist half of the country that seems prepared to stop commerce at all costs.

The current emergency is similar to the daily lives of those suffering under socialistic slavery. Why would anyone want socialism ?

Economic devastation.
Food shortages.
The suppression of essential human rights and censorship.
Leftists exploiting an emergency situation to empower themselves.
Neighbors snitching on neighbors.
Innocent people being confined while the guilty run amok.
Healthcare rationing.
Anyone who has studied socialism (or one of its cynical variations: Collectivism, Fabianism , Fascism, Trotskyism, Maoism, etc.,) will have noticed an interesting pattern over the past few weeks. Current events mimic the economic chaos, authoritarianism, and suppression of basic human rights of socialistic slavery almost perfectly.

It should be no surprise that authoritarian leftists like Woodrow Wilson have exploited emergencies to impose ‘war socialism’ on the people with no regard for their welfare. While all of this may seem abnormal to those used to liberty and individual rights, this is just everyday life for those having to deal with socialistic slavery.

But of course, no one would actually advocate or vote for a system such as this. So naturally, the left has to incessantly lie about the true nature of their socialist national agenda with tired old falsehoods such as ‘socialism has never really been tried before’, ‘socialist nations aren’t really socialist’ or that non-socialist nations are actually socialist. The fact that they have to incessantly lie about their base ideology speaks volumes.

We have an opportunity to experience the deprivations and devastation of the left’s socialist national agenda without being locked into it for life. We should heed the warning and reject it outright.

This is a common element of socialist nations because collectivist systems are based in central planning that never works. A top-down command economy will never be as efficient as one based on economic freedom. Thus we see the same problems, howbeit for slightly different causes.

Some of the nation’s socialist left have pointed to the temporary lines for food shopping as though it’s some sort of endemic failure when that sort of thing is a common occurrence in collectivist economies.

Powered by the suppression of essential human rights socialists tend to obsess about empowering themselves, thus gun confiscation is always one of their first priorities. They also cannot abide people gathering and exercising their right of free speech in opposition to their ‘rule’.

At the beginning of this emergency, many suddenly realized that they were their own first responder. It didn’t help that leftists wanted the innocent confined and the guilty released.

The Chi-Com Virus excuse was also perfect for suppressing other inconvenient civil and human rights, resulting in the nation’s left going hog wild in coming up with new ways of going after these.

Nothing describes the authoritarian left better than the phrase “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” They have a lot of difficulty in pushing their schemes in normal times. So they wait for a good crisis to get it ‘Rahmed’ through.

In the case of National Socialist German Workers’ party, they used the Reichstag fire to take control. For the nation’s socialist left in the states, they are trying to use the Chi-Com Virus excuse to push for mail-in voting as a drastic structural change.

A reported in The Daily Signal, this is a very bad idea as outlined by Hans von Spakovsky, a senior legal fellow in The Heritage Foundation and a presidential Trump appointee to the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity:

Mail elections have all kinds of security problems. And the reason is very simple, these are the only kind of ballots that are being voted out of sight and out from under the supervision of election officials.

And, in places that allow ballot harvesting—and that, again, is something that Pelosi wanted to mandate everywhere—party activists, candidates, political guns for hire, they will be going through neighborhoods trying to collect those absentee ballots to make sure they get voted. And that’s why those kinds of procedures are dangerous.

In one particular case, they are trying to bypass the people representatives and ‘Rahm’ through a dangerous change to election law by executive fiat. The Voter Integrity Project has detailed a New “Crisis” Power Grab in North Carolina:

The Cooper Administration is pushing a sleepy little change to our state’s Administrative Code that will give his hand-picked Director of Elections, Karen Brinson Bell, all the authority they want in order to institute last-minute “emergency” changes to our election laws, all without legislative approval, and this could include all-mail voting and California-style ballot harvesting.

There’s an April 20th deadline for public comments on Bell’s proposed changes that add “other public health incident” language to the excuses she has for exerting emergency powers.

The left usually cannot implement measures that are an extreme danger to our representative republic, so they have to lie in wait for an emergency as in the case with authoritarian socialists.

Neighbors snitching on neighbors
Socialist regimes have to rely on a secret police apparatus to keep the people in check. Having promised fantastic giveaways of other people’s money in order to buy votes, leftist then need to rely on oppression and mass murder when everyone notices that the promises are never fulfilled.

These secret police rely on informants to keep an eye on everyone. So that no one gets out of line because they don’t know who will turn them in.

A number of leftists have gone the same way, encouraging people to snitch on their neighbors with today’s example being New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio channeling his inner Gestapo officer:

It was noted in ‘The Gulag Archipelago’ by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn that in the ‘re-education’ camps, the common criminals were usually elevated over the political prisoners, such that they would run the camps under the auspices of the guard complement. The Soviet socialists considered the criminals to be merely the victims of society and were given extra privileges because of this belief.

We are witnessing the same inversion of justice with the Chi-Com Virus pandemic in that innocent people are confined at home, or arrested if they dare venture out. The authorities are releasing criminals out into the street, increasing the crime rate and spreading the disease… a two for one special.

The bottom line: If you hated the last few weeks, you would hate a socialist utopia
Leftists love to cherry-pick their trite little secular religion of the promises of a perfect society, complete with equality and all kinds of free stuff paid for with other people’s money. The reality is far from this as exemplified by the 400 years of failure of their base ideology.

The irony is that all of this was caused by socialism with Chinese characteristics, reaffirming the caveat that if socialism caused the problem, socialism isn’t the solution.

If anything, the past few weeks shows everyone that this is an impossible goal. The true reality is what we are living now instead of their false promises. Think about this time whenever leftists bring up the failed ideology of socialism as a reason to reject it.

Democrats are shrieking at the prospect of America coming back to life. They’re already calling the Texas Governor’s phased in plan a “hoax”. It’s not surprising. They detest free enterprise, freedom of association, free speech, the right of assembly and, of course, the right to bear arms. Over these harrowing few weeks we have learned just how much leftists loathe freedom and love power.

They will not let go of their power quietly. I remain very concerned for those of us in blue states, especially. Protest, civil disobedience, passive resistance and other measures may be required to let these tyrants know they cannot override the Bill of Rights. Not without a fight, at least. The numbers for car accident related deaths are higher, as of now. We don’t say, “I want to drive my car. But I want to live too. So how do you suggest we eliminate car accidents before we allow people to drive cars again?” The same for the flu. The same for lots of other things that kill more people than this virus ever will. You’re arguing from emotion. Instead of justifying our present state of totalitarian dictatorship — caused by a hysterical, paralyzing fear among millions — you’re implying that one has to first come up with a cure — not just for this virus, but presumably any and all yet to develop. You’re holding the liberty and survival of billions hostage because your friend died of this flu. If a loved one of mine died of it, I would be heartbroken. But I would not expect the entire world to shut down because I am heartbroken. Grow the hell up! Also, you’re implying that freedom is to blame for your friend’s death. It’s not. My desire to be free, to still trade and earn a living, does not cause someone else to die. Under freedom, you are FREE to stay inside and never leave the house. Nobody is trying to deny anybody that. You are free to be so terrified of any and all germs that you never work again. But you don’t have a right to force others to indefinitely bend to your will. Don’t tell me you’re a “patriot”. Patriotic about WHAT? I don’t know what you even mean by that. But it certainly has nothing to do with individual rights.
