The Nasty Street Fight Ahead; this is why We Elected Trump

Ironic, isn’t it? This could be Trump’s finest hour.

As befits the already awful year of Our Lord, 2020, the presidential election is going to come down to a nasty street fight of lawyers, public relations spin, and positioning involving four states. Donald Trump has won all four, and now he must successfully defend all four wins from the very mail-in shenanigans he (and all of us) predicted would happen months ago. This is flesh and blood people versus theoretical pieces of mail. The people must win this.

Like many, as I was transitioning from supporting Ted Cruz in the summer of 2016 to making peace with supporting Donald Trump, the main comfort I had was that Trump was a fighter, one who seemed fearless, and one who talked like a real guy instead of a political drone. Then there is the “it” factor that Trump has, a once in a lifetime gift upon the political scene.  The brilliant Cruz was admittedly a bit weak on all of that.  Okay, more than a bit.

At the time I was producing a series of twenty attack articles against the Republican Establishment for Steve Bannon at Breitbart, so I naturally had enjoyed — and written about — the successes during the process of Trump, Cruz, Ben Carson and Rand Paul — as they all irked the GOP-E.

And in the past four years, Trump has rarely disappointed on the fighter front. His instincts back on March 22nd were to push back against Tony Fauci, to not let “the cure be worse than the disease” regarding COVID, and he was right. Something inside was telling him that letting a narrowly focused bureaucratic scientist who hadn’t treated a human patient in 40 plus years rule the world’s economy was not a good idea.  Oddly, he backed off of that fight for about seven months — possibly at the behest of NYC focused Ivanka and Jared or wimpy GOP consultants, but that’s a discussion for another article and another day.

As a result, Mr. Trump, now is the time to really fight, and fight like you’ve never fought before. Tell Ivanka and Jared and the consultants to sit down and shut up. Time for you to be you. Now is the time for the straightest, toughest, and most real unvarnished talking you have ever done. You shouldn’t have to do this, of course. You should have sailed into re-election with well over 300 Electoral votes and a booming economy. Then the scamdemic of COVID happened, with all of the complications and implications thereof and therein, and the world was turned upside down. Our economy and your political fortunes included.

Yet somehow, even with the Fauci mistake, you charged into yesterday with the incredible momentum of a winner. And you won, legitimately. Taking out the Marxist strongholds of California and New York, you won the popular vote in the other 48 state by millions. By all rights, you have won Michigan, you beat the frack out of Biden in Pennsylvania, and you held off  “the damned Yankees” who have moved into Georgia and North Carolina and brought their polluting voting habits with them.

But that’s not where we are. We are still in a war, a war against an enemy, the worldwide left, that has co-opted the Democrat party, virtually the entire American media, the social media giants, Big Education, Big Entertainment and even Big Sports. Yes, the foot soldiers will be the lawyers, but this battle will have a huge public opinion angle, and that’s where you must dominate. You must make it clear to the Supreme Court justices and to everybody else that your supporters are real live people who love the country and who are passionate.

And millions of their voters are theoretical pieces of mail that may or may not have ever been in the hands of a legitimate voter. Remind people that Republicans did well in The House and The Senate, and across the country. Just ooze legitimacy, because you are the legit winner. We are the legit winners.

Quite likely this is coming down to the Supreme Court, and they are flesh and blood human beings. They do watch what’s going on. They have feelings and opinions and have to live in Washington. Keep that in mind. Aside from the three ultra-liberals, they are not drones. Justice Barrett is new, and she needs a visible and obvious reason to support flesh and blood voters over pieces of mail. She needs a reason she can support you and not be called a lackey. Justice Kavanaugh had his testosterone drained by the vicious attacks on him, and you need to give him a reason to get it back. Justice Gorsuch is one of those brilliant but annoying libertarian leaning guys who needs a public display of such common sense that he understands pieces of paper cannot disenfranchise real people by cancelling their votes.  Thomas and Alito are solid. And Roberts? Well, I’ve written him off but would be delighted to be wrong.

I say, continue to hold rallies. Stay on this every second of every day. Keep your attorneys fired up. Keep your people fired up. Make it obvious that this is still a war between the people and the basement dwellers. More than ever, Trump must be Trump. Go with your gut. Attack. We shouldn’t be here, but we are. It is what it is. Perhaps we have the one man who can make it his and our finest hour. The Republic depends on it.

Plenty of Good News for GOP in this Election

It’s morning again in America; not the morning we necessarily had hoped for, but one filled with hope and promise for the future, as America’s mornings tend to be.

With all the angst prevailing over the presidential race still being up in the air, let’s focus on the good news out of this election for the GOP, because there was plenty to be found.

Let’s start with the U.S. Senate, which appears to be destined to remain in GOP hands:

– Mitch McConnell rolled to an easy win in Kentucky;

– Lindsey Graham overcame $130 million in Hollywood/New York money funding his Democrat opponent to roll to a landslide, 12-point re-election;

– John James appears poised to take the Michigan seat from Democrat Gary Peters;

– Tommy Tubberville has re-taken the Alabama seat from Democrat Doug Jones;

– Steve Daines rolled to an easy win in Montana over heavily-funded Democrat Steve Bullock;

– John Cornyn ran up an easy, 10-point victory over his goofy opponent in Texas;

– Not sure this is “good” news, but even Susan Collins appears to have won her re-election in Maine.

All in all, these victories and others will be enough to secure a GOP majority in the Senate for the next two years. If Sonny Perdue can avoid a runoff, that majority will be at least 51 seats, and if James can hang on and if Kelly Loeffler can win her runoff against Democrat Raphael Warnock, the majority will remain at 53 seats.

Thus, the GOP Senate majority has been vindicated for its decision to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court and will now serve as a firewall against the excesses of a Biden/Harris presidency should that end up coming to fruition. This outcome was vital for the safety of the Republic, so celebrate this, even if it does mean we have to listen Susan Collins for another 6 years.

Meanwhile, in Texas… – One thing I actually got right was the fact that Texas was never really “in play” as an array of fake polls commissioned by various media outlets and opportunist universities tried to pretend.

President Trump will end up winning Texas by 6%, while Senator Cornyn and Republican Texas Railroad Commission candidate Jim Wright trounced their well-funded Democrat opponents by double digits. The GOP also retained its majorities in both houses of the state legislature and will retain 2/3rds of the state’s seats in the U.S. house.

Texas remains a reliably red state, and will stay that way for the foreseeable future.

But what about Florida? – Florida just keeps getting redder, and that’s a great thing for America. The President won that state by about 400,000 votes thanks in large part to his making major inroads with the Cuban/Venezuelan immigrant community in Miami/Dade County. The state’s Republican Party needs to work hard to ensure those new Hispanic voters are paid attention to in the coming years, because if they feel ignored and taken for granted, that progress could be quickly lost.

GOP congressional candidates also ousted a pair of Democrat incumbents in southern Florida, including the execrable old communist hack Donna Shalala.

Ohio sets its redness in stone. – Trump won this state by 8 points, and much of that phenomenon can be attributed to the state’s new focus on oil and gas production from the prolific Marcellus and Utica Shale formations. As in Pennsylvania, Fracking politics had a big role to play here.

Some other congressional pickups. – Republicans will not flip the House, but San Fran Nan won’t be expanding her majority, either. GOP challengers managed to flip several seats, with several more still up in the air.

From a story at USA Today:

Democrats are expected to retain control of the House of Representatives but optimistic projections that they would be expanding their already robust margin are falling short.

Instead, Republicans have enjoyed some bragging rights, unseating freshmen incumbents in South Florida, New Mexico, Oklahoma and South Carolina, while successfully defending what looked to be several vulnerable seats in Texas and elsewhere. And early Wednesday, the GOP claimed its biggest prize by knocking off 15-term Democratic Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota.

It’s a stark contrast to 2018, when Democrats picked up key seats — many in suburban areas — that helped flip the House from Republican control to a Democratic majority. Not all the news was bad, as Democrats were expected to pick up a handful of GOP seats, including two in North Carolina districts that were redistricted under court order.

The presidential contest will play itself out one way or the other, and if it goes the wrong way America will soon have its first woman president. But it may still go the right way, and there is nothing most of us can do about it one way or the other.

So, be of good cheer, folks, for all is not lost and there is much good news to celebrate today. Go live your lives to the fullest and keep your loved ones safe.

That is all.

November’s Election: A Choice Between President Trump and the Establishment

This election is not about the choice between a Republican and a Democrat, Trump or Biden/Kamala. It is about a choice between Trump and the Establishment.

You are voting for or against the Establishment.

If you vote against Trump, you are voting for your continued dispossession of your personal freedom, your independence, your income and wealth if any, your integrity, the First and Second Amendments, and any hope for your future and the future of your country. It is as simple as that.

Approximately half of the American population are too indoctrinated and brainwashed to understand what is at stake. These Americans see a vote against Trump as a vote against racism, misogyny, Covid, wealth, and orange hair. The mindlessness of these Americans, should their votes prevail, would complete the transformation of American democracy into rule by unaccountable elites.

The print, TV, NPR, and vast swaths of the Internet media are working in tandem to defeat Trump at all costs. Dutifully, the presstitutes have turned the Biden Scandal into a Russian intelligence operation in behalf of Trump. We have Russiagate redux.

Without an honest media a country’s future is in doubt.

The Media Is a Propaganda Ministry that Ensures Elite Control over Explanations

“We are living in an age of extreme censorship of information, no matter how credible or how much evidence is provided, information that goes against the grain always seems to receive a harsh backlash from mainstream media as well as social media outlets. Why is there a digital fact checker patrolling the internet? Should people not have the right to examine information openly and freely and determine for themselves what is and what isn’t?”

President Trump Will Win Re-election and the Democrat Party Will Die

President Trump is stampeding through America, energizing a population weary of negative energy, looking for a positive future, responding to its President with more emotion than has ever been witnessed for any President in history. The secret service estimated a crowd size of 50,000 at one of the President’s five rallies yesterday, while Biden and Obama drew twenty cars and a few handfuls of unenthused supporters. We witnessed thousands upon thousands of people, walking, or in cars, or SUVs, and even in boat flotillas, demonstrating loud and eager support for their President.

A majority of Americans appreciate those who strive with determination to achieve their goals. In President Trump, Americans have found a person committed to improving the lives of people living in the Nation he leads, regardless their race or economic standing. His reduction of their tax burden and his lifting of government restrictions and constraints on large and small businesses, motivated entrepreneurs and created non-government jobs for millions of Americans of all races.

Most Americans understand that America stands on its Constitution, and grasp that many now flying the Democratic flag vow to destroy it. Most Americans, including recent legal immigrants understand that without borders, they have no Nation. Without well managed borders there is no America.

Government’s principal purpose is to enable the population to live lives in liberty, under laws, enabling personal safety, and independence of thought and word. Violent burning of businesses and spreading the Cancel Culture nurtured by the Democratic Party, is anathema to a majority of Americans regardless of race. It is particularly significant to those at the lower end of the financial spectrum. The wealthy in gated communities and behind armed protection can self-righteously pontificate from Hollywood or the Hamptons, but the millions who suffer the consequences of incompetent government that cannot or will not protect them have recognized the inaction of Democratic leadership. It isn’t even that Republican Congressional leaders have been much better than their “friends” across the aisle over the past thirty years. it is that President Trump has for four years implemented policies that have made differences to the all communities across America, whether they voted for him or not.

The majority of Americans are also aware that the American media fought an incessant campaign attacking the President, doing its best to hide his very positive accomplishments. The media hid how his policies favored America and benefited Americans. The media hated that he actually helped America’s working class.

Americans from all corners have come to realize that the billionaires, the international bankers, the permanently ensconced government bureaucrats or academics, have been fighting against the President’s policies. They have understood that when the President took on China, or NATO, or reduced involvement in endless foreign wars, he was fighting for them and for their benefit.

The Globalists do not dislike President Trump because some of his Tweets or ad hominem attacks, or comments are boorish, or uncivilized, or crude. That’s for the elitist media to chomp on. Globalists want to get rid of Trump because he stands for a strong America, unlike the artificial European Union created by senior bankers, which grates on all that is human nature, human will, and human liberty. Globalists seek to change America by first changing its Constitution and then redistributing its power and cash to third world nations. They’ll sneak America into such things as the Paris Accord, or tie up American businesses in international agreements which disengages America from control over its own destiny. Remember the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) that Obama imposed on America? It took President Trump to terminate that abomination. No one else had the fortitude to end it.

President Trump is fighting to win an election with an energy that is unlike anything we’ve ever seen. He will very likely gain support from over twenty percent of the African-American vote, and probably as much as thirty-five percent of the Latino vote. Those will be historical numbers for a Republican leader.

President Trump will win re-election.

Over the next four years, the Democratic Party ranks will disintegrate, will squabble, will blame one another, and will turn their “Cancel Culture” guns on themselves. The Marxists in the Party will segregate to form into their own party, taking a major portion of the Democratic Party ranks with them. This will leave current Democratic Party leadership to feel lost and incapable of coalescing their threadbare ranks into an energized party.

President Trump will win re-election and will finally be able to really Drain the Swamp, enabling Americans to breathe again.

We’ll Finish It

A good friend of mine who participated in the Car Rally for Trump in Delaware today sent me this yesterday evening:

“I drove past Biden’s mansion today [in Wilmington, Delaware] with about 300 other trucks and cars bearing Trump flags and signs in a Trump miles-long Caravan. We were pretty noisy beeping horns going up into the elite neighborhood up the hills in Wilmington, DE. I cranked my car stereo and had all the windows open with the Trump rally songs as I drove by his house. It was cranked to the max with a very long stream of trucks/cars before and after me! We had travelled up the whole state of DE in a 300-500 convoy of trucks and cars. Lots of pockets of support from onlookers too on the sides of roads all up the state. Even with the downpour of rain. It was a great day! A lot of positive energy, confidence and enough silent but deadly testosterone that seemed to say, “Anyone from the Left who wants to start something… well… We’ll finish it.”

Final Prediction: Trump Wins Again in America’s First Outrage Election

OK, here’s my final projection: Donald Trump will be re-elected in an electoral landslide that will easily eclipse his 2016 victory. Trump will win every state he won in 2016 – yes, including MI and WI and PA – and will add several other states to his column. Think Nevada and Virginia and New Hampshire and New Mexico.

Final tally: Trump 344, Biden 194. A clear and convincing landslide in America’s first Outrage Election.

The popular vote will be closer – much closer, thanks to the brainwashed masses in California and New York and Illinois and New Jersey, although Jersey will be closer than most people are thinking right now. Illinois will be closer, too. I still think Trump wins the popular vote, but barely, by a million votes or so.

Here’s the beauty part: Trump will have coattails, and those coattails will bring endangered GOP senators like Sonny Perdue in Georgia and Joni Ernst in Iowa and Martha McSally in Arizona and Little Lindsey Graham in South Carolina over the finish line despite the hundreds of millions in Hollywood/New York money that poured into the campaigns of their Democrat challengers. Couple those holds with pickups by John James in Michigan and Tommy Tubberville in Alabama, and what will be a very narrow loss by Cory Gardner in Colorado, and you have the GOP holding a 54 seat majority in the Senate for the next two years, an incredible upset considering they had 14 more seats up for re-election than the Democrats did in this cycle.

Now, here’s the bad news: The Red Wave likely will not translate to the GOP picking up a majority in the House, due mainly to incredibly inept campaigns run by R congressional candidates in Texas, Georgia and several other states. Unfortunately, the Republicans in those states chose to take the advice of the same pollsters that advise Democrats and have run campaigns in which you would never even know they are Republicans, always a losing strategy for the Rs.

The prime example of this is Genevieve Collins in Texas’s 32nd district, who is challenging Collin Allred in a very even district. Collins ran one of the most effective primary campaigns I have ever seen, prevailing over a strong field with ads that clearly identified her as the all-American anti-socialist Republican in the race who would go to Washington to get stuff done. Some of you may remember I predicted that, if she ran the same campaign this fall, she would take this seat back from Allred, who unseated longtime incumbent R Pete Sessions in 2018.

Sadly, Collins has listened to advisors who told her to completely shift in the general election, running as Collin Allred light, a non-partisan candidate with touch-feely messaging who you would never know was a Republican or conservative. Many other GOP candidates are obviously using the same polling and communications firms to advise them, and they will pretty much all lose in the even districts as a result.

So, keep an eye on Texas 32: If you see Collins winning tonight, then you are probably going to see a Republican majority ushered in in January. My bet is she will lose because she failed to distinguish herself from her very leftwing opponent with a 100% record of fealty to Nancy Pelosi. An incredible lost opportunity that need not have happened.

Whether the presidential election gets called tonight depends on the President being able to run up enough electoral votes in other states to make Pennsylvania irrelevant, given that the corrupt Democrat governor and Lt. Governor have already made it clear they will not even start releasing vote counts until Wednesday. That’s why the states to watch early will be Florida, Virginia and New Hampshire. If we see Florida and either of those other two states called for Trump tonight, then you can feel safe that it’s all over but the crying.

Early voting trends indicate that President Trump will win Florida by a significantly larger margin than he did in 2016, so it could end up being called much earlier than the wee hours of the morning that we saw four years ago. A Trump win in Virginia would signal a Red Wave of epic proportions, and such electoral waves do not stop at state borders – they roll nationally. My bet is that the much higher turnout by non-college educated white voters and higher percentage of black and Hispanic voters going to Trump (his Black vote percentage could be as high as 18%, double what he got in 2016) will make the difference, and the media that is hoping for a hung verdict to facilitate the Democrats’ post-election voter fraud plans will end up having little choice but to call the election before sunrise on Wednesday.

Disclaimer: I called every aspect of the 2016 election right, including the GOP waves in congress and the state houses. But I did miss on my prediction that the GOP would hold the house majority in 2018, so I have been wrong before.

Those of you who have read me for the past several years know that my theory on presidential elections is that they all come down to being decided based on national voter inertia, not on local issues as many pundits like to pretend. That inertia in the past has always either been in favor of retaining the status quo, or wanting change. 2016 was a change election, and Trump won because he was the only true change agent in the race.

This year is the first time in my lifetime that is different. This election is neither a status quo or change election: This is our first outrage election.

This year has been more difficult, complicated as it has been by the China Virus pandemic and the entire national news media/social media apparatus turning itself into a very real Nazi-style propaganda tool for the Democrats. The media’s wall of disinformation about the virus and the summer of Democrat-sponsored rioting that destroyed vast swaths of a dozen Democrat-run cities resulted in it taking a long time for the public to figure out which side to direct its focused outrage towards.

Over the past month, the public has figured it out, and millions of Americans are outraged by all the deception. The big turnout by non-college educated white voters who are sick of being portrayed in the media as privileged racists is one big indicator of this outrage, but it is not the only one. Also outraged by all the deception are the Black voters who are turning to Trump due to their outrage about having been pandered and lied to by race-baiting hucksters for half a century and more, and millions of Hispanic voters who are outraged by the media’s portraying them as a monolithic block with no diversity of thought.

That outrage, that focused anger towards the media and political establishment in Washington, DC, is what is producing America’s first Outrage Election, and it is why Donald J. Trump will serve a second term in office thanks to a resounding victory today.

I’ve been wrong before, but I don’t think this is one of those days.

God Bless all of you, and God Bless America.

That is all.

The Gales of November

By David Prentice

I have heard the horror stories of living through hurricanes.   Hours of hurricane strength winds can reduce the bravest soul to despair.  In the Great Lakes region, there are times of hurricane-strength winds, but the duration can be for days, not hours.  If you have ever experienced the fury of one of these storms, it’s a memory you won’t forget.  Huge waves slashing the coastlines, winds that seemingly never end, the howls rushing around your home like a pack of wolves gone mad.

Gordon Lightfoot wrote about these storms in “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”  It’s a haunting song, and strikingly beautiful.

Well, there is a real storm here right now, a gale force that is sweeping through America.  The country is being pounded by wave after wave of chaos, negativity, noise, and confusion.   Keeping sanity sometimes becomes the number-one goal in times like this.  I know a couple that described three nights of being unable to sleep during one of these gales.  On the fourth night, they moved to a back room, put a mattress on the floor, closed the doors, turned on a box fan, and prayed their power wouldn’t be shut down.

“Does anyone know where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?”

Such is the pressure most of us are under right now.   Most of us want to find that room to put that mattress down.  Many of us hearing the shrieking winds won’t sleep.

Here are some of the fears the left has promised us: Hillary has insisted there will be no concession if Joe loses.

If he wins, he has promised some awful things:  He will pack the courts with leftist ideologues.  He will ensure the Senate majority is in the hands of the corrupt Democratic Party.  He will do everything in his power to ensure that the Democratic Party can’t lose another election.  He will line the pockets of his donors.  He will push policies harmful to the average American and beneficial to countries such as China.

Antifa and Black Lives Matter have signaled they will unleash a reign of terror across America if Trump wins.  Two-thirds of college students say they agree that this kind of violence has a place and is warranted.  The average Democrat voter has no clue what buying into this hard-left revolution means for him.  Most are ignorant of the destructiveness their wokeness is bringing to America.  Most are unaware that civilization has a fragility they might unravel.  Most are unaware that this is not the romantic kind of revolution that will allow them to come through unscathed.

It is this breaking the bonds of decency we are seeing; an onslaught of the left that just won’t relent that feels like the first night of a howling gale.  We will have voted on November 3rd, and the gales will have just started.  Sometimes it feels like these gales have gone on since 2016, such is the time we are in.

The good news:

Gales have an end.  Storms do make way for beautiful days.  This one may last for weeks, it could last until the Electoral College declares a winner, and beyond.  But the storm will end.

And it will end poorly for the left.  Because they will have fully exposed the kind of lowlifes they are.  Their leadership will have shown willingness to destroy the livelihoods of average Americans.  The willingness to destroy an economy to win an election.  The willingness to bind ordinary people with rules and burdens that oppress them and make the pursuit of happiness a distant dream.

This kind of behavior may fool some of the people some of the time, or even most of the time.  But right now, it is fooling the American people less and less.  And people are voting right now.  Increasingly, they are voting against the left as they see the masks of the smartest people ever being torn off, revealing a leftist political class that is neither smart, compassionate, nice, nor good.  And thankfully, most courts will not allow them to vote beyond the 3rd.

And that is the best thing this storm is bringing.  Enough people are seeing through the lies of the left.  Seeing how genuinely pathetic they really are.  The evidence is accumulating.  Trump is the lightning rod that is showing this to America.  And he will win.  Yes, we know the media, and the tech oligarchs are going to pretend he didn’t win.  And try to sell us more Russian conspiracy theories about how and why he won.  But in the end, he will win.  And ultimately things will change for the better.

In the end, the gale-force winds will subside.  In the end the better angels of America will peek out of their hiding places and come to the forefront.

But gird yourself, because the left will not go down easily.  Yes, they have made themselves vulnerable, shown themselves to be weaker than previously thought, displayed their intolerant, smarmy, mean side way too often to regain their collective reputation back.  Just how much they will regress in the eyes of the public will be known in the coming year.  Our best hope:  A long time in the wilderness for the radical hard left.

And after the storm, a calm will emerge.  A renaissance is in the wings.  A quickening of the American spirit towards freedom, towards a revitalized culture, towards a time of shared prosperity, and a time where we can enjoy the fruits of a country that is going to be better than it was.

Yes, the best is yet to come.

But don’t forget to buckle up, because we will need to endure this storm until it subsides.  We will need to guard ourselves from the negativity the left wants us to experience, to ward off their weapons, to stand proudly against them, to fight them with courage and honor.

And we will need to keep our wits while doing so.  We will need to forge ahead despite their media machine telling us we lost, in spite of the tech lords and their ilk sneering at us for being rubes, deplorables, bitter clingers, chumps, and all-around fools. Our response will be to rise up to a better day.

What’s wonderful is the positive responses of so many patriots knowing that we are standing tall.  Knowing there is hope beyond the storm.  Knowing that this is a time of ascent.  A time for entering a new Spring of good things happening.

Our response will be to endure the storms, then rise up to build a better life, a more perfect union.  One we can be proud of.  Character is destiny, and we expect better days ahead.  We will fend off the left, and make America great again!

Fleeing Blue States: When Democrats Hate What They Vote For

Californians are fleeing in record numbers for red states like Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. New York City is emptying out as people with means relocate; many are going to Florida. For reasons only the Heavens know, there are normal people still living in Portland.

It is not hard to see what is happening: People are fed up with the overreach of Democrat-monopolized government. Their policies are inhibiting the possibility of retaining personal independence and achieving any sense of self-fulfillment. This is on top of not being able to provide basic safety to citizens.

Once these blue state refugees resettle, will they reflect on what drove them out and change their own beliefs and value systems? I am not optimistic based on my interactions with these people.

In the age of coronavirus, my place of work requires all employees to submit a daily self-assessment prior to reporting for duty on campus. It’s a simple test, asking if any symptoms like runny nose, headache, fever, and other basic ailments have presented within the last 24 hours. I actually don’t know what it all says; I just click “No” and submit.

A colleague of mine, a vocal critic of President Trump and ostensible masker – who has also made a point to email her supervisors about the lack of 100% mask compliance – arrived at work this past week emphatically distraught. She came in to work despite being told she had to go home by the algorithm of the self-screening app and later by our health consultant but didn’t want to. She finally relented. In the interim of testing and eventually departing, there were big emotions.

I was amazed at how my colleague responded to all of this. Given her fear of the virus and her outspoken way of handling mask breaches, it could have been safely assumed she would abide by the protocols. After all, it’s the science! Moreover, who wouldn’t like a paid day off? But no, this person felt wronged. She felt aggrieved. Her list of plaintive utterances was lengthy. “It’s only a headache…It’s allergies…I should have lied on the screener…What work can I do at home…I just want this all to end.” On that we can at least agree.

A second colleague of mine was awarded a personal grant of sorts for her work with an outside program. The award took the form of a sizable check. This person, who is neither necessarily poor nor well off, is accustomed to living off her paychecks and appears never to have noticed what all goes out of them. She just makes do with what ends up in her account. Upon receiving notification that her award had been deposited, she verified with her bank account and was instantly dismayed. Whereas the award was valued at $5,000, she had only received about $3,000.

Pop quiz: Where did her money go?

This employee was dumbfounded. It needs to be addressed she is a Bernie supporter, and a diehard one at that. This point makes the example not only salient but particularly satisfying. Her own useless protestations indiscriminately penetrated the air, seeking out anyone willing to listen: “Look how much they took out…that was my money…I worked hard for that grant.” She was genuinely confused and upset. She also has no intentions of changing her voting habits. That she supports Comrade Sanders is simply a level of delusion playing out across this country with frightening regularity.

These two incidents illustrate a perfect encapsulation of the Democrat mind. A) Other people should have to ____, but not me. Fill in the empty spot: Pay more taxes. Lose livelihoods because of media panic porn and government overreach. Be dishonest when expecting others to be honest. Do as I say and not as I do. Most importantly, it exemplifies how fools who vote Democrat in 2020 have no conceptual understanding of what voting Democrat actually means.

In the presidential debate, Joe Biden made a lot of nothing-burger comments, but he closed with perhaps the most insane position a legitimate presidential candidate has ever made. In his concluding remarks, he made it clear he would destroy our oil and gas infrastructure in the name of virtuous climate salvation. He knows full well that millions of Americans depend on these industries for jobs (and good paying jobs at that), that every single American depends on fossil fuels to heat their homes and places of work, power their transportation, and as Trump observed, enjoy the benefits of national security thanks to energy independence. These are not insignificant matters.

According to most reports, roughly 63 million Americans tuned in for the final presidential debate held on October 22. Millions more read coverage in the following days. There is no excuse for being unaware of what Biden not only said, but what he intends to do if he is elected. Trump once made a comment that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and not lose any voters. He didn’t even say kill, he simply said shoot. Perhaps he would shoot them in the leg.

Biden just said he would shoot the entire fossil fuel industry and effectively kill it. Will he lose any voters? I would wager my house on the fact that there are idiots who will vote for this plan and then instantly complain about their homes being too cold or upset that traveling in a gas-powered car was banned.

Hopefully you can fix stupid before November 3rd.

No Vaccine for Tyranny

The World Health Organization (WHO) recently admitted that lockdowns cause more harm than good. Following this announcement, one would have expected American politicians to immediately end the lockdowns. After all, the WHO ‘s pronouncements are considered infallible, so much so that social media sites silence anyone who dares challenge the great and powerful WHO. Yet, governors, mayors, and other government officials across the country are ignoring the WHO’s anti-lockdown position.

Instead of admitting that the lockdowns were a mistake, many in the political class, which includes a disturbing number of medical professionals whose positions and prestige depend on government, claim that we cannot return to normalcy until a coronavirus vaccine is in wide use. This suggests that people among the majority of Americans who do not wish to be vaccinated will remain under lockdown or be forced to be vaccinated against their will.

The assault on our liberty will not end with deployment and use of a vaccine. Moncef Slaoui, the chief adviser of the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed, a “public-private partnership” in charge of producing and delivering a coronavirus vaccine, has said that those who receive a vaccine will be monitored by “incredibly precise … tracking systems.” Slaoui has also indicated that tech giants Google and Oracle will help the government keep tabs on the vaccinated individuals. So, the vaccine program will lead to an increase in government surveillance!

Slaoui is just the latest “expert” to endorse forcing the American people to relinquish their few remaining scraps of privacy to stop coronavirus. Dr. Anthony Fauci and Bill Gates have urged development of a digital certificate for those vaccinated for coronavirus. People without the certificate would find their liberty severely restricted.

Those who think that the new surveillance system will be limited to coronavirus should remember that Social Security numbers were only supposed to be used to administer the Social Security program. They should also consider that the PATRIOT Act’s expansion of warrantless wiretapping was supposed to be limited to stopping terrorists. However, these powers have been used for a wide variety of purposes. Whenever government is given power to abuse our rights for one reason it will inevitably use that power to abuse our rights for other reasons as well.

Fauci and Gates’ digital certificate could, and likely will, be expanded to include proof individuals have received a variety of other vaccines and medical treatments. The digital certificate could even extend to monitoring a person’s lifestyle choices on the grounds that unhealthy habits make one more susceptible to diseases.

The digital certificate could also be tied to the REAL ID program to deny individuals who have not been vaccinated the right to travel. It could also be combined with a future mandatory E-Verify system to deny unvaccinated individuals the right to hold a job. Those who consider this “paranoia” should consider Britain is already developing a covid passport.

Liberty lost in the “war on covid” will not be voluntarily returned when the coronavirus threat ends — assuming the government ever stop moving the goal posts and declares the coronavirus threat is over. Instead, the people must be prepared to take back their liberty from the politicians. Fortunately, we still have the ability to do so by the peaceful means of educating our fellow citizens and pressuring our elected officials to reverse course. We must all do what we can to use these peaceful tools before we are in a “dark winter” of authoritarianism.

Will Americans Forfeit Their Heritage of Liberty on Election Day

I have had a love affair with this country for nearly 70 years.  It began on a cold misty morning in 1951 as I stood alone at the railing of a U. S. Navy military transport ship ferrying displaced persons from refugee camps in post-war Europe.

Having known only the miasma rampant in decimated cites, refugee camps, and orphanages, I began to sense an aura of confidence, optimism, and can-do spirit as the ship made its way through New York’s Upper Bay and past the Statue of Liberty.   As I was perhaps seven years old, I did not know that I had been welcomed to the nation that had rescued me and untold millions from the shackles of Nazism.  I knew nothing about this nation’s founding, its people, or its governing philosophy, but I instinctively knew that the United States was a special place.

After being adopted and learning English, I immersed myself in this nation’s history and creation.  With the backdrop of my life’s experiences, I was profoundly moved by the philosophical underpinning of America’s founding as expressed in the Declaration of Independence:

We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among them are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed.

The Constitution, which gave structure and meaning to those words, is, as William Gladstone described in 1878, “[t]he most wonderful work ever struck off at a given time by the brain and purpose of man.”  It was and remains mankind’s most powerful testament and governmental blueprint for individual liberty and freedom while being a guide to peacefully correct the inevitable imperfections of society.

experienced this firsthand in late August 1963 while waiting for classes to begin at Catholic University in Washington, D.C.  I attended the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, which featured Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream Speech,” delivered on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.  Later, as I participated in various marches and voter registration drives to once and for all undue the ravages of institutionalized racism, I was never more proud to be a citizen of the United States and watch as, one by one, barriers fell, and equality became a reality for all Americans.

I also realized that while the nation’s founding documents provided the framework for these changes it was the people of this country, of all races, religions, and ethnic backgrounds, who were determined to right a century-old wrong that made this a truly unique country.  Regardless of ancestry or country of origin, we were, first and foremost, a people bound by a common philosophy and love of liberty and freedom.

Over the years, as this nation experienced unprecedented peace and prosperity, a faction imbued with the mindset of societal dominance and an unbridled determination to overthrow the Constitution and control in perpetuity the halls of power began their inexorable march with little or no opposition from the political class.  Their foundational belief that the American citizenry are mere chattel to be manipulated and deceived as well as their ultimate goals and ambitions mirror their despotic counterparts who perpetrated incomprehensible death and destruction in the continent from whence I came.

This cabal is now on the cusp of achieving its goal of permanent dominance.  Using the vehicle of the Democratic Party and a senescent and compromised presidential candidate, the American left is about to achieve what seventy years ago would have been unthinkable.  Confident that they have succeeded in manipulating the American people, leftists are openly declaring their intentions and their strategy to achieve their ends, such as packing the Supreme Court and eliminating the Electoral College.

This election is a defining moment for this country.  Have the American people been so duped and propagandized that they will succumb to the siren call of those determined to sail this nation onto the rocks?  Or will the citizenry rally behind Donald Trump, as he is now the modern-day Horatius at the Bridge, single-handedly thwarting the barbarians at the gate?

As I am approaching fourscore years on earth and thus am in twilight of my life, I hope I do not live to see the downfall and dissolution of the most influential and benevolent nation in the history of mankind.  If so, then as long as the human race exists on this planet, there will never be another United States of America.
