Elon Musk Can Permit Humor on Twitter, But the Leftist Gestapo Will Come for Him

“Comedy is now legal on Twitter” the self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist” Elon Musk wrote on Friday.

Leftists are humorless. Many leftists are in other contexts bright and witty, but they suppress their laughter due to fear of what others think of them. Ironically, the people whose opinions they fear are just as afraid of them, for the very same reason.

The humorless and self-suppression of leftism poses as progressive and innovative. It’s really just a reincarnation of old-school puritanism, the kind exhibited by intolerant despots at the Salem witch trials or by militant religious terrorists beheading journalists and knocking down skyscrapers in the early 21st century.

This sick way of thinking — the narcissistic, dogmatic ruthlessness of leftism — necessarily and always collapses into the brutality of a police state. America is almost there. Hat tip to Elon Musk for trying to take it on at this late stage of our sociopolitical malignancy. I wonder if he grasps the magnitude of the violent hatred behind modern, woke leftism, a hatred so virulent it could put the Nazis to shame.

It will take more than billions of dollars to defeat what is surely coming his way.

Who’s Afraid of Elon Musk ?

Any doubt that many progressives have abandoned their commitment to free speech was erased by the hysterical reaction to Elon Musk’s effort to purchase Twitter and return the company to its roots as a free speech zone. Former Labor Secretary Robert Reich and “woke” neocon Max Boot fretted that Musk’s commitment to free speech threatens democracy. Those confused by how free speech threatens democracy should remember that for neoconservatives and many progressives democracy means allowing the people to choose between two largely identical supporters of the welfare-warfare state. In this version of “democracy,” those whose views are outside the welfare-warfare mainstream — such as libertarians — are marginalized.

More ominous than the griping of ex-government officials and pundits was the threat of prominent Democratic politicians to haul Musk before Congress. These politicians likely want an opportunity to smear Musk and other supporters of free speech as promoters of hate and Russian (and/or Chinese) disinformation.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Dick Durbin and other Senate Democrats, none of whom seem to have read the First Amendment, are also investigating whether it would be “appropriate” for Congress to force tech companies to “moderate” content on their platforms.

President Biden is not waiting for legislation to ramp up the attack on free speech. His administration has created the Disinformation Governance Board located in the Department of Homeland Security. The board’s purpose is to coordinate government and private sector efforts to combat “disinformation,” with a focus on Russia. The focus on Russia is not surprising since “Russian disinformation” has joined racism and sexism as a go-to justification to smear and silence those whose views (and factual information) contradict the political and media establishment’s “party line.”

Biden’s choice to head the Disinformation Governance Board, Nina Jankowicz, is a spreader of disinformation herself. In 2020, for example, Jankowicz parroted the lie that Russia created the damning materials found on Hunter Biden’s infamous laptop. Jankowicz’s résumé also includes stints as an advisor to the Ukraine government and a manager of National Democratic Institute programs in Russia and Belarus. Jankowicz’s background suggests she will never call any lie peddled by the US war party “disinformation.”

The Disinformation Governance Board may not directly censor social media. However, by “encouraging” tech companies desperate to maintain good relations with the federal government to remove “unapproved” opinions from their platforms, it can achieve the same results. This is why anyone who values free speech, which should include everyone who cherishes liberty, should not fall for the claim that tech companies’ behavior is nothing to be concerned about since it does not involve government censorship.

Sadly, some misguided conservatives have joined progressives in promoting legislation imposing new regulations on big tech. Increased regulation will only empower Nina Jankowicz and her ilk to further pressure tech companies to restrict free speech. It will also hurt consumers by reducing the ability to find affordable goods and services online. The only way to protect free speech on the internet is to make online platforms truly private through a complete separation of tech and state.

The drive to censor is driven by the woke mob and authoritarian establishment’s fear that their policies could not maintain majority support if forced to compete in a free market of ideas. This shows that even enemies of liberty sense that the days of the welfare-warfare state are numbered.

Will Elon Musk Drain Twitter’s Swamp?

“FCC commissioner shoots down ‘absurd’ claim that the federal government can block Musk’s Twitter purchase” [Fox headline]

Absurd? Not at all. The woke American leftists who still work at Twitter, and now operate (no doubt) an underground Swamp, don’t see a problem with undermining Elon Musk’s ownership of the company.

The same people who assert that Mark Zuckerberg has a right to operate Facebook as he sees fit suddenly do NOT see Elon Musk as having that right … while Zuckerberg still does, of course.

They engage in such brazen, hypocritical contradictions because they live in the psychological and moral equivalent of an echo chamber — WHERE ABSOLUTELY NOBODY EVER QUESTIONS OR CHALLENGES THEM. EVER.

Here’s the thing. Leftists want government-sponsored censorship — just like in Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. Only THEY want to be running it.

Under Twitter, Facebook and Google, they had the equivalent of the same thing. They still do have it, and will likely always have it, under Facebook and Google.

Under Twitter, it’s in question; we have to wait and see how able and willing Elon Musk is to keep his promise of free speech.

Today’s American leftists — like all totalitarians throughout history — view this in all-or-nothing terms. They cannot and will not let this stand. Since the COVID-Biden coup of 2020-2021, I have warned you that leftists are at least as bad as the worst villains of history, Nazis and Communists included, because they’re a hybrid of the worst of those movements. With religious fundamentalism thrown in, manifested by the “return to nature” of the Green movement. Watch how they respond to even the threat of a partial loss of total control. They will not let up. They never give up, and — in recent years — they have won every single battle. Until Elon Musk, it seems.

You have to understand: They feel ENTITLED to control over what you say, do, and think. The same people who feel entitled to force you to wear a mask in the bathroom and to inject an unknown, experimental vaccine product into your body, certainly feel entitled to control ALL of your speech … rather than just 95 percent of it.

Elon Musk is Driving the Left Insane—And It’s a Beautiful Thing

Leftist reaction to Elon Musk’s possible buyout of Twitter reveals a lot. Snowflake Twitter employees and executives, and other leftists, actually say open speech on Twitter is a DENIAL of free speech. How can they say this? THEY are the ones who censor right now. Musk proposes allowing every point-of-view on Twitter.

Isn’t he the one advocating free speech? He’s not going to shut down leftist views; but leftists already have shut down views they don’t like on Twitter, Facebook, Google, YouTube and most other places.

You have to understand how a leftist thinks. Actually, you have to understand how a leftist FEELS. Because leftism is based on feeling. When a leftist hears a point-of-view he does not like, it’s a violation of rights, in his mind. A rational person would only feel violated if someone stole his property or initiated physical violence against him. A leftist feels just as violated (if not more so) if someone expresses — or these days, even privately holds — a viewpoint the leftist does not like.

It sends a leftist into a rage when he becomes aware that someone doesn’t agree with him on economics, morality, politics, justice or culture/psychology. The moment the leftist feels that rage, the anxiety becomes unbearable. Leftism is based on subjectivism. Subjectivism is the false belief that feelings and objective reality are one and the same. If you FEEL it, then it must be TRUE. If you FEEL offended when someone suggests that taxes shouldn’t be 95 percent, or fossil fuels should remain legal, that inflation is a bad thing, or that five-year-olds are not able to determine their sexual orientation or gender identity — if you FEEL offended when anyone expresses any of those views, then your feelings are valid. You have a right to shut up the people saying these things and (on the same premise, extended further), you have a right to lock up, haul away or perhaps even kill people who hold views that offend you.

Leftists are unable to tolerate other opinions, because their feelings rule their minds and their lives. And they’re using social/interpersonal pressure combined — increasingly — with brute government force to get their way.

Elon Musk stands in their way. You can expect a wrath unleashed on him even worse than what you saw against Donald Trump.

And really, watching leftists experience unbearable anxiety and melt down in public — it’s a beautiful thing.

Hostile Takeover on the Table? Elon Musk Opts Out of Twitter Board SeatJoseph VazquezApril 11th, 2022 7:46 AM

Tesla CEO Elon Musk declined a seat on Twitter’s board of directors after becoming the platform’s largest shareholder with a massive 9.2 percent stake. But this move could end up signifying an even greater play by Musk to seize control of the platform, according to CNBC.

Leftist Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal tweeted late April 10 that the world’s richest man “decided not to join our board.” Agrawal seemed to admit the quiet part out loud when he said that having Musk “as a fiduciary of the company where he, like all board members, has to act in the best interests of the company and all our shareholders, was the best path forward.”  Musk’s appointment was supposed to take effect April 9, “but Elon shared that same morning that he will no longer be joining the [B]oard. I believe this is for the best,” Agrawal claimed.

There could be another reason why Musk chose an about-face. He could attempt a hostile takeover of the company. According to CNBC, “If Musk had joined the board, he would not be able to acquire more than 14.9% of the company’s shares. Now that he’s no longer joining the board, he can theoretically increase his stake, should he wish to.” In addition, CNBC said “Some industry experts speculated on Twitter that he may now try to take over the company and rebuild it in the way that he wants to.” [Emphasis added.]

Agrawal stated previously that the platform’s role was “not to be bound by the First Amendment,” but to decide “who can be heard.” In his latest update about Musk, Agrawal said the billionaire’s appointment to the Board was “contingent on a background check and formal acceptance.” But it sounds like Musk could be playing four dimensional chess against the leftist activists fighting to keep the platform’s obsessive censorship in place.

Musk slammed the platform on March 26 for its censorship-heavy environment: “Given that Twitter serves as the de facto public town square, failing to adhere to free speech principles fundamentally undermines democracy.” Perhaps Musk is not satisfied with informing Twitter’s decision making, but instead could end up seeking control of the whole platform.
