Ayn Rand: Economic Power vs. Political Power

A disastrous intellectual package-deal, put over on us by the theoreticians of statism, is the equation of economic power with political power. You have heard it expressed in such bromides as: “A hungry man is not free,” or “It makes no difference to a worker whether he takes orders from a businessman or from a bureaucrat.” Most people accept these equivocations—and yet they know that the poorest laborer in America is freer and more secure than the richest commissar in Soviet Russia. What is the basic, the essential, the crucial principle that differentiates freedom from slavery? It is the principle of voluntary action versus physical coercion or compulsion.

The difference between political power and any other kind of social “power,” between a government and any private organization, is the fact that a government holds a legal monopoly on the use of physical force.

What is economic power? It is the power to produce and to trade what one has produced. In a free economy, where no man or group of men can use physical coercion against anyone, economic power can be achieved only by voluntary means: by the voluntary choice and agreement of all those who participate in the process of production and trade. In a free market, all prices, wages, and profits are determined—not by the arbitrary whim of the rich or of the poor, not by anyone’s “greed” or by anyone’s need—but by the law of supply and demand. The mechanism of a free market reflects and sums up all the economic choices and decisions made by all the participants. Men trade their goods or services by mutual consent to mutual advantage, according to their own independent, uncoerced judgment. A man can grow rich only if he is able to offer better values—better products or services, at a lower price—than others are able to offer.

Wealth, in a free market, is achieved by a free, general, “democratic” vote—by the sales and the purchases of every individual who takes part in the economic life of the country. Whenever you buy one product rather than another, you are voting for the success of some manufacturer. And, in this type of voting, every man votes only on those matters which he is qualified to judge: on his own preferences, interests, and needs. No one has the power to decide for others or to substitute his judgment for theirs; no one has the power to appoint himself “the voice of the public” and to leave the public voiceless and disfranchised.

Now let me define the difference between economic power and political power: economic power is exercised by means of a positive, by offering men a reward, an incentive, a payment, a value; political power is exercised by means of a negative, by the threat of punishment, injury, imprisonment, destruction. The businessman’s tool is values; the bureaucrat’s tool is fear.

Evading the difference between production and looting, they called the businessman a robber. Evading the difference between freedom and compulsion, they called him a slave driver. Evading the difference between reward and terror, they called him an exploiter. Evading the difference between pay checks and guns, they called him an autocrat. Evading the difference between trade and force, they called him a tyrant. The most crucial issue they had to evade was the difference between the earned and the unearned.

You had said that you saw no difference between economic and political power, between the power of money and the power of guns—no difference between reward and punishment, no difference between purchase and plunder, no difference between pleasure and fear, no difference between life and death. You are learning the difference now.

What To Do Now

Here’s former Republican Majority Leader McConnell on the floor of the Senate proclaiming, “The mob was fed lies. They were provoked by the president and other powerful people.”

And then comes Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy on the House floor: “The president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters.” Then he suggested censure of Trump instead of a second impeachment.

The Democrats never turn on their own. For decades they praised as “the lion of the Senate” a drunk who abandoned a young woman to drown at the bottom of a pond. How to fathom these Quisling moves by GOP “leaders” in the last few days of Trump when everyone heard the president admonish well over a half million supporters to go “peaceably and patriotically” to the Capitol “to make your voices heard” exactly as the First Amendment says?
Deserting their party’s president and bloodying him with false accusations, a president who won the loyalty of 90 plus percent of their party, who is justly celebrated for his achievements by over 74 million who voted for him, who has won more Black and Hispanic votes than any Republican president in history, isn’t only disloyal. It’s staggeringly stupid.Third parties, even a Trump third party, never have a chance but always spli

Predictably, now many Republicans, independents, and even Democrats who spent the summer and fall rocking the nation with joyful MAGA car parades and rallies, Trump flags flying and horns blaring (and that doesn’t count the hundreds of thousands reveling at official Trump rallies) are walking away from the GOP. The traitors at the top, including Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney, have managed by their treachery to deflate a boisterous crop of newly-minted citizen activists who have never before been involved in politics. Trump turned them into the bold new vanguard of Republicans who elected 14-plus new Republicans, mostly women, to the House in the 2020 elections. And now the #NeverTrumpers who have been revealed as collaborators with the Trump-hating Democrats have turned many of them into doubters and dropouts.

So what do we do?

We don’t leave the party, we take it over by wielding our voting power. We primary the RINO Trump-trashers and oust them from the party. We lead the grassroots takeover of the Republican Party. It’s already happening. Liz Cheney has a strong challenger and she may decide not to run again, given the uproar over her impeachment vote. Even now grassroots stalwarts like Randy Corporon, activist chair of Colorado’s largest Tea Party and recently elected state Republican Committeeman, are moving into powerful national party positions.

We fight as Republicans, not unaffiliateds, because the Republican Party has the decades-strong structure and the organizational reach to win elections against the Democrats. The unaffiliated have none. Third parties, even a Trump third party, never have a chance but always split the vote.

In your neighborhood, the party is composed of your neighbors. First, sign up at your county’s GOP website and start attending meetings. Find out who your precinct leader is. If your precinct lacks a leader, volunteer for the job. Get your MAGA friends to join the party and get yourselves elected into leadership and policy committees. You’ll be able to help guide your local party’s direction and make the America First agenda work for your community. As a party official you’ll be able to vote in the party’s internal primaries (prior to the general primaries) to select the best Republican candidates to carry the conservative message in your local and state offices such as district attorney, county commissioner, and the House and Senate in your statehouse.

We must run for school board to protect our kids from the onslaught of leftist propaganda teaching them to be ashamed, not proud, of our America. We must go in numbers as parents and grandparents to school board meetings and fight the evil curriculum created by the New York Times and the America-last haters that slavery, not freedom, is the foundational idea of our nation. We must fight the “sex ed” classes sold by Planned Parenthood to school districts nationwide that tell our kids to question their gender “birth assignment” — that they could well be a girl trapped in a boy’s body or the other way around.

In whatever state you live (but especially Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin) write, call, and email your state legislators to pass laws that ensure fair elections. Also insist that your county party pressure state lawmakers to make elections honest. Election laws must enforce voter picture ID, signature verification of mail and in-person ballots, scrubbing the voter rolls of people who have left the state or the planet, and even more election safeguards. Lawmakers do listen to constituents because they want to get re-elected. We must make sure there’s never another stolen election because if election corruption is not stopped, there’s no actual reason to hold another one.

We must be relentless, just like the Democrats. We come from strength because we know President Trump’s America First trade deals, economic strategies and tax cuts have brought Americans, including minority Americans, more prosperity, higher incomes, and better job opportunities than ever before. His international policies have made the world a more peaceful place than at any time in recent memory.

The election proved we conservative Trump loyalists are the majority of Republicans, so we have an excellent start on taking over the party. Actually, we already dominate because President Trump’s popularity is holding and rising even after the January 6 riot. A January 23-25 survey found 81% of Republican voters hold positive views of Trump, including 54 percent who do so strongly.

Despite the RINOS, the majority base of the party is loyal to the MAGA agenda, a durable package of timeless ideas that will always make our nation great and our people prosperous. Republican candidates that can articulate these ideas and put them into action — lower taxes, robust capitalism, supporting business with less regulation, educational choice, energy independence, legal immigration, religious rights, gun rights, freedom of speech — will win. We can stampede the RINOS into the sunset. But we must get off our couches and stop listening to the depressing lies from the leftstream media about the demise of the Republican Party. Let’s get to work. Let’s roll.

America’s Biggest Virus: Mass Insanity

It’s insane and unhealthy to live by a zero risk tolerance rate — with anything, not just COVID.

Imagine if we lived with a zero risk tolerance for driving a car. We’d never go on the road. Or with flying in an airplane. That would be the end of traveling.

Imagine if we worried about all the other viruses out there — the ones that won’t likely kill us, but haven’t received the headlines and political attention of COVID-19. We’d lock ourselves down permanently, because there will never be a life free of viruses.

For a year now, I’ve heard people talk about, “I’m not doing anything until there’s a vaccine.” Now there’s a vaccine, for whatever that’s worth. People are starting to get the vaccine. Many of these same people are saying, “Well, I can’t be sure it will work.” So they continue to deny themselves the ability to leave the house, go shopping, eat out, see their grandchildren, take their kids to games or schools, while they wait … for what, exactly?

If you ask them, most of them are waiting to see how the vaccine works out for other people. But most other people remain glued to their television sets and one-sided news networks, which continue to cover the virus as if it’s the most catastrophic thing to happen to the world since Nazi Germany. No, it’s worse.

So here we have the spectacle of millions of people waiting at home, refusing to send their kids to school, refusing to eat in restaurants, go to movies, go to sports games or simply TO LIVE LIFE. They’re all waiting … to see what everyone else does.

In logic, I believe that’s called an endless regression. In psychology, we call it circular thinking. “We can’t be sure until everyone else is sure.” And nobody else can be sure until … everyone else is sure.

The dead end? Nobody’s ever going to be sure. And everyone is looking to everyone else for guidance on what to do. Nobody else knows what to do. As for the media, and tyrant politicians … good grief, they know less than anyone what to do. And they care about nothing except their own narcissistic and sociopathic quest for endless power.

In exchange for ZERO risk in accepting ANY risk for a virus that likely will not kill them … they willingly, even gladly, accept a living death. It’s truly mass insanity.

God Save Us from Educated Youth

When I was a university student, the liberals’ motto was a quote attributed to Voltaire: “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” The liberals used this quote as permission to deconstruct the family, society, religion, and the belief system that held the diverse American population together.

Today liberals want to silence and even to arrest everyone who disagrees with them. Social media deplatform and cancel all who step outside official explanations, even experts, members of Congress, and the President of the United States. Amazon, Apple, and Google force alternative social media out of existence by denying service. Americans lose their jobs for being Trump supporters and even for using gender pronouns unapproved by woke idiots. We have arrived at the point in university life that an ignorant quota admission “student” has more authority than a distinguished scholar or scientist and can get the scientist or distinguished scholar investigated and sanctioned by his own university. A total non-entity can cancel a person of lifetime accomplishments simply on the grounds that the non-entity is “offended.”

This is the Western world today. Who is left to defend it? To die for it? And what is it? The values are gone. The belief system is dissolved. Propaganda focuses us on Russians, Chinese, and Iranians. The real threats to our existence are in charge of our life. We live in the Matrix of their self-serving lies.

Clear evidence that liberals have created a new Dark Age is the demand of Harvard students that the university revoke the degrees of Trump supporters. All reason has departed university life. Reason is replaced with blind hate. Emotion rules. Truth-tellers are “enemies of the people.”

Ayn Rand on Moral Judgment

One must never fail to pronounce moral judgment.

Nothing can corrupt and disintegrate a culture or a man’s character as thoroughly as does the precept of moral agnosticism, the idea that one must never pass moral judgment on others, that one must be morally tolerant of anything, that the good consists of never distinguishing good from evil.

It is obvious who profits and who loses by such a precept. It is not justice or equal treatment that you grant to men when you abstain equally from praising men’s virtues and from condemning men’s vices. When your impartial attitude declares, in effect, that neither the good nor the evil may expect anything from you—whom do you betray and whom do you encourage?

But to pronounce moral judgment is an enormous responsibility. To be a judge, one must possess an unimpeachable character; one need not be omniscient or infallible, and it is not an issue of errors of knowledge; one needs an unbreached integrity, that is, the absence of any indulgence in conscious, willful evil. Just as a judge in a court of law may err, when the evidence is inconclusive, but may not evade the evidence available, nor accept bribes, nor allow any personal feeling, emotion, desire or fear to obstruct his mind’s judgment of the facts of reality—so every rational person must maintain an equally strict and solemn integrity in the courtroom within his own mind, where the responsibility is more awesome than in a public tribunal, because he, the judge, is the only one to know when he has been impeached.

The precept: “Judge not, that ye be not judged” . . . is an abdication of moral responsibility: it is a moral blank check one gives to others in exchange for a moral blank check one expects for oneself.

There is no escape from the fact that men have to make choices; so long as men have to make choices, there is no escape from moral values; so long as moral values are at stake, no moral neutrality is possible. To abstain from condemning a torturer, is to become an accessory to the torture and murder of his victims.

The moral principle to adopt in this issue, is: “Judge, and be prepared to be judged.”

The opposite of moral neutrality is not a blind, arbitrary, self-righteous condemnation of any idea, action or person that does not fit one’s mood, one’s memorized slogans or one’s snap judgment of the moment. Indiscriminate tolerance and indiscriminate condemnation are not two opposites: they are two variants of the same evasion. To declare that “everybody is white” or “everybody is black” or “everybody is neither white nor black, but gray,” is not a moral judgment, but an escape from the responsibility of moral judgment.

To judge means: to evaluate a given concrete by reference to an abstract principle or standard. It is not an easy task; it is not a task that can be performed automatically by one’s feelings, “instincts” or hunches. It is a task that requires the most precise, the most exacting, the most ruthlessly objective and rational process of thought. It is fairly easy to grasp abstract moral principles; it can be very difficult to apply them to a given situation, particularly when it involves the moral character of another person. When one pronounces moral judgment, whether in praise or in blame, one must be prepared to answer “Why?” and to prove one’s case—to oneself and to any rational inquirer.

The man who refuses to judge, who neither agrees nor disagrees, who declares that there are no absolutes and believes that he escapes responsibility, is the man responsible for all the blood that is now spilled in the world. Reality is an absolute, existence is an absolute, a speck of dust is an absolute and so is a human life . . .

There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil. The man who is wrong still retains some respect for truth, if only by accepting the responsibility of choice. But the man in the middle is the knave who blanks out the truth in order to pretend that no choice or values exist.

Morality is the province of philosophical judgment, not of psychological diagnosis. Moral judgment must be objective, i.e., based on perceivable, demonstrable facts. A man’s moral character must be judged on the basis of his actions, his statements and his conscious convictions—not on the basis of inferences (usually, spurious) about his subconscious.

A man is not to be condemned or excused on the grounds of the state of his subconscious. His psychological problems are his private concern which is not to be paraded in public and not to be made a burden on innocent victims or a hunting ground for poaching psychologizers. Morality demands that one treat and judge men as responsible adults.

This means that one grants a man the respect of assuming that he is conscious of what he says and does, and one judges his statements and actions philosophically, i.e., as what they are—not psychologically, i.e., as leads or clues to some secret, hidden, unconscious meaning. One neither speaks nor listens to people in code.

One Week in, the Biden Administration Shows it Exquisite Cruelty

Joe Biden was inaugurated a week ago, and like the dictator his handlers have long yearned to install, his has started out as a cruel administration. His 22 executive orders so far, more than any other president in history, have already sent tens of thousands of jobs down the drain with coldhearted carelessness. He stopped construction of the Keystone XL pipeline with the stroke of his pen. He has put all those who were working on the border wall out of work. As all those who opposed his candidacy suspected, he is doing China’s bidding. Of course he is; the Chinese own him. Every single person he has appointed to his Cabinet is aligned with China as well. It is quite likely that Biden has no idea how catastrophic the E.O.s he has apparently signed have already been for blue-collar workers across the country.

Biden’s handlers are leading him around by the nose, putting the words they compose on his teleprompter, which he has difficulty reading. It took the Obama administration a year to do this much damage. This crowd, believing they have absolute power in every sense of the phrase, have set about implementing the transformation of the U.S. from a democratic republic to a communist oligarchy. In a flash, there is no more freedom of speech or assembly. This new regime is about to make the COVID vaccine mandatory. Medical treatment cannot be mandatory. President Trump got the vaccine up and running, but now we must wonder how many Chinese scientists were in on its design.

Every American most likely realizes that filling D.C. with military troops for the inauguration was a farcical performance of political theater and a costly one at that. The horrific treatment of those troops is typical of the left; leftists have long loathed our troops, whom they view as virtual slaves, instruments of the wars leftists initiate for financial gain. They were made to sleep on the ground of a parking garage. They were given toddler snacks to eat.

So confident in their new fascist control over us all, leftists are suddenly unafraid of overtly demonstrating their contempt for those of us not members of their superior class. Now that they hold all the cards, no need to pretend they care about “we the people.”

So along with Biden’s dictatorial executive orders comes Schumer’s plan to further constrain our freedoms due to the “climate emergency.” But there is no climate emergency. It’s just another hoax, a fear-mongering ruse to create a global government. The planet has survived all manner of climate changes. We humans can no more affect the climate here than we can on Mars. And even if we could, we are not responsible for the irresponsibility of nations like China and India re: filthy air. The Paris Climate Accord is only about making U.S. taxpayers pay billions of dollars to those nations to equalize the quality of life on the planet. Not a single prediction of the Gorist climate alarmists has come true. Snow still falls from the sky; there are no more hurricanes than normal; polar bears are alive and thriving; droughts occur here and there as they have throughout the millennia. But the Biden administration is going to use climate alarmism to continue restricting the American population from living their lives.

President Trump energized our economy, made us energy independent. Biden has in the span of a week tanked it in order to make us dependent on Saudi Arabia again. He is about to ban coal-mining, too. What will happen to those miners? These green jobs he claims all those suddenly unemployed workers are going to transition to do not exist. The arrogant Buttigieg, the new transportation secretary, a job he is uniquely unqualifed for, when Ted Cruz asked what would happen to those people, snarkily replied, “They’ll get other union jobs.” Exactly where and when he did not say. He can’t. Those jobs do not exist.

This is a nasty group of radicals, this Biden Cabinet of now out-of-the-closet communists. They are wildly overreaching in a country that is based on individual liberty.

So drunk with their newfound power, the left’s pundits have let loose with the vitriol they really feel for us peons. Katie Couric thinks we all need to be reprogrammed, and she is not alone. That PBS lawyer thinks our children should be confiscated and re-educated. New press secretary Jen Psaki wants to disallow all conservatives from W.H. press conferences! How’s that for the end of our democratic republic? And DHS is about to surveil all conservatives as potential domestic terrorists. They’ve done this without a shred of evidence or threat. It is clear that they hope to incite a few militia types to make their case for eavesdropping on us all.

Within one week, this new and illegitimate administration has revealed itself to be the most fascist, the most illiberal in U.S. history. These people intend to continue to use COVID as a weapon, the vaccine as a weapon, a second faux impeachment as a weapon.

Where is the mass press conference attended by every Republican in Congress? Why are they not on every cable news program decrying what the left is doing? We must be grateful for Cruz, Hawley, Johnson, Jordan, Gaetz, et al., who are the precious few doing what each and every one of them should be doing: fighting back as if our lives depended upon their fighting back. This new administration is destroying America as founded faster than we can say “Constitution.”

Where are the rest of the elected Republicans sent to D.C. to represent us? Cowering in their basements? It seems so. If they are not going to fight for us, why are they there? It appears they are there to become part of the get-rich-quick swamp. That is why they hate Trump so much. He was already rich, and he did fight for “we the people.” He exposed them all for who they really are — self-serving jerks.

The Wisdom of Ayn Rand: Goal-Directed Action

Only a living entity can have goals or can originate them. And it is only a living organism that has the capacity for self-generated, goal-directed action. On the physical level, the functions of all living organisms, from the simplest to the most complex—from the nutritive function in the single cell of an amoeba to the blood circulation in the body of a man—are actions generated by the organism itself and directed to a single goal: the maintenance of the organism’s life.

When applied to physical phenomena, such as the automatic functions of an organism, the term “goal-directed” is not to be taken to mean “purposive” (a concept applicable only to the actions of a consciousness) and is not to imply the existence of any teleological principle operating in insentient nature. I use the term “goal-directed,” in this context, to designate the fact that the automatic functions of living organisms are actions whose nature is such that they result in the preservation of an organism’s life.

That’s All Folks

As they used to say at the end of all those wacky Looney Tunes cartoons, that’s all folks! The show is over. Literal Russian-Asset Hitler, the Latest Greatest Threat to Western Democracy, the Monster of Mar-a-Lago, Trumpzilla, Trumpenstein, the Ayatollah of Orange Shinola, has finally been humiliated and given the bum-rush out of Washington by the heroic forces of the GloboCap “Resistance,” with a little help from the US military. The whole thing went exactly to script.

Well … OK, not quite exactly to script. Despite four years of dire warnings by the corporate media, the Intelligence Community, Hollywood celebrities, the Democratic Party, faux anti-fascists, fake-Left pundits, and pretty much every utterly deluded, Trump-obsessed liberal with an Internet connection, there was no Hitlerian “Reichstag Fire,” no Boogaloo, no Civil War II, no coup, no white-supremacist uprising. Nothing. The man simply got on a chopper and was flown away to his Florida resort.

I know, you’re probably thinking … “Wow, how embarrassing for the GloboCap ‘Resistance,’ being exposed as a bunch of utterly shameless, neo-Goebbelsian propagandists, and liars, and hysterical idiots, and such!” And, in any other version of reality, you’d have a point … but not in this one.

No, in this reality, “Democracy Has Prevailed!” Yes, it was touch and go there for a while, as there was no guarantee that the Intelligence Community, the military-industrial complex, Western governments, the corporate media, supranational corporations, Internet oligarchs, and virtually every other component of the global-capitalist empire could keep one former game show host with no real political power whatsoever from taking over the entire world.

Still, Trump’s failure to go full-Hitler, or even half-Hitler, was somewhat awkward. I mean, you can’t whip millions of people into a four-year frenzy of fear and hatred of a clearly powerless ass-clown president, and portray him as a Russian Intelligence asset, and the Son of Hitler, and all the rest of it, and then just drop the act cold and laugh in their faces. That would leave them feeling like total morons who had just spent the last four years of their lives being lied to and emotionally manipulated, or like members of a cult, or something.

Fortunately, for GloboCap, this was not a major problem. All they had to do was produce a cheap simulation of “Trump going full-Hitler.” It didn’t even have to be convincing. They just needed a semi-dramatic event to plug into the official narrative, something they could call “an attempted coup,” “an insurrection,” “an attack,” and so on, and which millions of credulous liberals could hysterically shriek about on the Internet.

The “Storming of the Capitol” did the trick.

They held a dress rehearsal in Berlin last August, and then gave the real performance in the Capitol Building (this time it was for all the money, so they went ahead and got a couple people killed). It wasn’t very hard to pull off. All they actually had to do, in both Berlin and DC, was allow a small fringe group of angry protesters to gain access to the building, film it, and then pump out the “attempted coup” narrative. It made no difference whatsoever that the “domestic terrorists” (in both Berlin and Washington) were a completely unorganized, unarmed mob that posed absolutely zero threat of “staging a coup” and “overthrowing the government.” It also made not the slightest difference that Trump didn’t actually “incite” the mob (yes, I put myself through the agony of reading every word of his speech, which was the usual word salad from start to finish). We’re talking propaganda here, not reality.

The so-called “Violent Storming of the Capitol” set the stage for the main event, which was the show of force we have all just witnessed. Someone (I’m not entirely clear who) ordered in the troops, tens of thousands of them, locked down Washington, erected fences, set up road blocks and military check points, and otherwise occupied the government district. It looked like any other US-military post-“regime-change” occupation, because that’s what it was, which was precisely the point. As I have been repeating for … well, for over four years now, it was always going to end this way, with GloboCap making an example of Trump and reminding everyone who is really in charge.

Look, let’s be clear about these last four years, because there are all kinds of crazy theories going around (not to mention the official GloboCap narrative), but what actually happened is pretty simple. Here’s the whole story, as concise as I can make it.

Back in 2016, the American people, sick to the gills of global capitalism and its increasingly oppressive woke ideology, elected an unauthorized, narcissistic ass-clown to the highest office in the land. They did this for a variety of reasons, but mostly it was just a big “fuck you” to the establishment. It was an act of rebellion against a government which they know is owned by unaccountable, supranational corporations and oligarchs who openly detest them. It was an act of rebellion against a system of government they know they have no influence over, and are not going to have any influence over. It was an act of rebellion against global capitalism, the unopposed, global-hegemonic system which has dominated the world for the last thirty years … whether they realized what they were rebelling against or not.

This act of rebellion happened on the heels of Brexit (another such act of rebellion) and in the context of the rise of assorted “populist” movements all throughout the world. When Trump actually won in 2016, the global capitalist ruling classes realized they had a serious problem … a “populist” rebellion in the heart of the empire. So they suspended the Global War on Terror and launched the War on Populism.

The ultimate objective of the War on Populism was to neutralize this “populist” rebellion and remind the public who is actually running things. Think of the Trump era as a prison riot. In any maximum security prison, the prisoners know they can’t escape, but they can definitely raise a little hell now and then, which they tend to do when they get really tired of being abused and neglected by the prison guards. Most prison riots run out of steam on their own, but if they go on too long or get too ugly, the penal authorities typically respond by shooting a few prisoners (usually the ringleaders), and reminding the inmates that they are in a prison, and that the owners of the prison have guns, whereas they have shivs made out of spoons and toothbrushes.

This, basically, is what we’ve just experienced. The global capitalist ruling classes have just reminded us who is really in charge, who the US military answers to, and how quickly they can strip away the facade of democracy and the rule of law. They have reminded us of this for the last ten months, by putting us under house arrest, beating and arresting us for not following orders, for not wearing masks, for taking walks without permission, for having the audacity to protest their decrees, for challenging their official propaganda, about the virus, the election results, etc. They are reminding us currently by censoring dissent, and deplatforming anyone they deem a threat to their official narratives and ideology.

In other words, GloboCap is teaching us a lesson. I don’t know how much clearer they could make it. They just installed a new puppet president, who can’t even simulate mental acuity, in a locked-down, military-guarded ceremony which no one was allowed to attend, except for a few members of the ruling classes. They got some epigone of Albert Speer to convert the Mall (where the public normally gathers) into a “field of flags” symbolizing “unity.” They even did the Nazi “Lichtdom” thing. To hammer the point home, they got Lady Gaga to dress up as a Hunger Games character with a “Mockingjay” brooch and sing the National Anthem. They broadcast this spectacle to the entire world.

And the lesson isn’t quite over yet … it won’t be over for a while. The “War on Populism” will simply morph into the “New Normal War on Domestic Terror,” which will become one more theater in the “Global War on Terror,” which has been on hiatus, and which will now resume. As I have pointed out repeatedly over the past four years, we appear to be headed toward a dystopian future in which there will essentially be two classes of people: (a) “normals” (i.e., those who conform to global-capitalist ideology and decrees); and (b) the “extremists” (i.e., those who don’t).

It will make no difference whatsoever what type of “extremists” these “extremists” are … religious-fundamentalist extremists, Islamic extremists, Christian extremists, right-wing extremists, left-wing extremists, white-supremacist or Black-nationalist extremists, virus deniers, anti-vaxxers, conspiracy theorists, anti-maskers, recalcitrant transphobians, anti-transhumanists, pronoun resisters, defiant oppositionalists, or whatever … the names don’t really matter. The point is, conform or be labelled an “extremist,” a “domestic terrorist,” or some other type of “antisocial person” or “social deviant,” or “potential threat to public health.”

I don’t claim to know every detail, but one thing seems abundantly clear. We are not going back to the way things were. GloboCap has been explaining this to us, over and over, for almost a year. They couldn’t have made it any more explicit. When they warned us to get ready because a “New Normal” was coming, they meant it.

And now … well … here it is.

The Trump Years…Just a Nice Dream

The Trump years were just a dream, it seems. The powers-that-be prop up the ghoulish, decrepit Biden and he issues tons of executive orders reversing all of Trump’s actions. The only thing left standing are tax cuts, which the Democratic Senate will surely reverse and Trump’s judicial appointments which–well, we see how useful those turned out to be. I suppose it just goes to prove that you must first change a culture before you have any lasting impact through government.

Culture refers to things that non-leftists gave up on decades ago–media, schools, universities, even churches. Joe Biden is like a sick joke, leering at the unreformed and nonbrainwashed, as if to say: “Look at what defeated you. We won the culture war, so we can now easily rule you with THIS.” Ultimately, irrationality and evil only have the power given to them by the rational and the good, by refusing to stand up to them, or by refusing to resist them in any way. How this all plays out, in that regard, will tell the tale.

Words of Wisdom

“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not: nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not: the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”

Calvin Coolidge
