Some points to ponder on the Constitution:

1. When the Constitution called the federal government into existence, the federal government was not vested with omnipotent powers. Instead, the federal government’s powers were limited to those that were enumerated in the Constitution, which were few.

2. The Constitution called into existence a limited-government republic, not a national-security state. If the Constitution had proposed calling into existence a national-security state, there is no possibility that our American ancestors would have approved it. In that case, the United States would have continued operating under the Articles of Confederation, a type of governmental system in which the federal government’s powers were so few and weak that it didn’t even have the power to tax.

3. Under America’s limited-government republic, there was a small, basic army. For more than a century, there was no Pentagon, military-industrial complex, foreign military bases, CIA, NSA, or FBI. Our American ancestors were fiercely opposed to “standing armies,” which was their term for a national-security state. See “The Dangers of a Standing Army.”

4. The Bill of Rights did not grant any rights to the people. Instead, it expressly prohibited the federal government from infringing or destroying the preexisting natural and God-given rights and liberties of the people. The federal government was prohibited from destroying freedom of speech, freedom of the press, religious liberty, freedom of association, and the right to keep and bear arms. It was prohibited from depriving people of life, liberty, and property without due process of law or trial by jury. It was prohibited from inflicting on people cruel and unusual punishments, indefinite detention, and torture. 

5. The reason for the limited powers in the Constitution and the restrictions on powers in the Bill of Rights was that our American ancestors knew that federal officials would exercise dictatorial and tyrannical powers if they were not expressly prohibited from doing so. Our American ancestors believed that the greatest threat to their rights, liberties, and well-being lay with their very own government, not with some foreign government. 

6. After World War II, the federal government was converted to a national-security state. The national-security establishment — that is, the Pentagon, CIA, and NSA — was called into existence. For the first time in U.S. history, federal officials were vested with omnipotent, non-reviewable, dark-side powers — the same types of powers wielded and exercised by communist and other totalitarian regimes. These included assassination, kidnapping, torture, indefinite detention, mass secret surveillance, coups, state secrets, military tribunals, invasions, wars of aggression, foreign interventionism, sanctions, embargoes, alliances with dictatorial regimes, and regime-change operations. Over time, the military-intelligence establishment established a veritable empire of military bases, both foreign and domestic. Budgets for the new national-security branch of the federal government began soaring and ultimately threatening America with national bankruptcy. It was all done without even the semblance of a constitutional amendment.

7. Neither Russia nor any other foreign regime has destroyed the rights, liberties, and well-being of the American people. Instead, it has been the Pentagon, the military-industrial-congressional complex, the CIA, and the NSA that have destroyed the rights, liberties, and well-being of the American people. There is no way that people can be considered free who live under a government that wields the omnipotent, dictatorial, dark-side powers of assassination, torture, kidnapping, indefinite detention, mass secret surveillance, foreign interventionism, coups, alliances with dictatorial regimes, regime-change operations, entangling alliances, sanctions, and embargoes.

8. If Americans are to regain a free, prosperous, harmonious, moral, normal, and peaceful society, their focus must not be on Russia, China, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, terrorism, communism, Islam, or any other supposed threat. Their focus must necessarily be on the entity that has destroyed their rights, liberties, and well-being, and that is currently pushing them closer to nuclear devastation, not to mention national bankruptcy — the national-security state that was unconstitutionally and illegally brought into existence to fight its Cold War racket. Does the Will of the Biden Regime Trump the Constitution ?

The entire justification for the U.S. government is its willingness to uphold individual rights, specifically the Bill of Rights.

It’s the whole moral justification for any proper government: to UPHOLD the inalienable rights of the individuals within a society. Government exists for the sake of the people; NOT the other way around. That was the exact premise of America’s original Constitution and Bill of Rights. That is the polar opposite of today’s governing regime in Washington, DC, and in most of our states.

When a U.S. President and Congress use executive orders to replace legislation; openly threaten peaceful citizens with the full force of the military, including nuclear weapons, should they resist forthcoming gun confiscation (as Biden has done); openly spy on the social media posts of private citizens and order the companies who sponsor those posts to censor them; shut down virtually all human activity (with the exception of large corporations) whenever the flu breaks out, or whenever they feel like declaring an “emergency”; pass laws nationalizing all procedures in state and local elections to favor only one party; and force people to subsidize government schools and universities that actively teach in favor of tyranny and overthrowing the whole concept of the Bill of Rights … this is way, way more than enough to conclude that government has lost any claim of its legitimacy.

Somebody has to say it. We can’t go on like this, and it’s really the Patriots, the conservatives, the (authentic) Republicans, the individualists, the liberty-lovers and the libertarians who must face the truth. The left is getting everything it wants, and need not face any consequences of any kind — other than the evil and irrationality of their own depraved views, something most of them will never do.

Most of the good guys, for now, put their hopes in the next two election cycles, restoring Donald Trump to the Presidency in 2025, to the promise of God, faith, country, the flag and all the rest. I sincerely wish everyone well with these goals. But at least in the back of your minds, you have to accept what will happen if none of this works, and if the bad guys keep winning every single cultural and political battle — as they have, to date.

It’s Time for States to Start Nullifying Federal Law

As we all know, the last election was a “tipping point” election on many different levels. An election won with the use of illegal last-minute changes to state election laws has led to a rogue regime that threatens the very foundations of America. This is being achieved through highly questionable executive orders, the decimation of the concept of national sovereignty and an attack on fossil fuels, the lifeblood of our economy. Moreover, Biden is converting our military into a social justice agency and transforming our intelligence services into witch-hunters for conservatives who dared to protest a stolen election.

More alarming is the left’s goal to make its political power permanent by granting amnesty to 20-30 million illegal aliens, granting statehood to D.C. and Puerto Rico, expanding the Supreme Court, and normalizing the censorship of conservatives, not to mention the institutionalizing of election fraud, especially in key swing states.

There is little doubt, if history is our guide, that should the left achieve permanent political power, future elections will just become “show” elections, our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights will be diminished, if not gutted, and our economy will become permanently stagnant as with all other socialist economies in the world. It will be the beginning of the end of America as we know it.

Our Founders, however, were extremely wary of federal power and thus created a number of checks and balances to counter it. One of them was the ability by the states to “nullify” federal laws and even Supreme Court decisions. As most conservatives know, nullification is when a State decides to not abide by a federal law, regulation or even a Federal court ruling by simply refusing to enforce it. This concept is rooted in the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, which plainly states that if the states, who are the creators of the federal government, have not specifically given them authority, that authority rests with the states and the people of the state:

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Over the last 150 years or so, liberal legislators and judges have violated the Tenth Amendment by illegally expanding the scope and power of the federal government. We know that Federal power is limited because such powers were actually “enumerated” or listed in Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution and include actions such as “To lay and collect taxes,” “coin money,” and “raise and support Armies.” The federal government was not given any role in education, health, welfare, transportation, energy, or even with maintaining secure borders. All those issues were left up to the states to decide. If our founders wanted to expand the federal government into every area of our life, they would not have specifically listed the very few powers they granted it.

Conservative constitutional scholars such as Thomas E. Woods, in his book, Nullification, How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century, documents that our Founders believed that if a “law is unconstitutional and therefore void and of no effect, it is up to the states, the parties to the federal compact, to declare it so and thus refuse to enforce it.”

The left will scream about such nullification efforts, but they have been engaged in nullifying federal laws for years. For example, all state laws legalizing marijuana are illegal since they’re in conflict with federal narcotic laws, but states have simply refused to
enforce these federal laws and so have “nullified” them. Likewise, states controlled by the left have allowed various cities and counties to become “sanctuaries” in which they refused to abide by federal immigration laws. And no, the Marines were not sent in nor did any state or city even suffer the loss of federal funding.

It is time our side use this tactic as a way of protecting our constitutional rights. Here are some of the issues that could be affected by the concept of nullification:

  1. Nullify all 1st Amendment Restrictions. States should refuse to enforce all federal edicts and Supreme Court rulings that impinge upon the 1st Amendment protections of our religious freedom, such as efforts by radical gays to force churches, faith based adopting agencies, religious schools, colleges, and businesses to carry out a radical gay and transexual agenda.
  2. Nullify all federal efforts to undermine the 2nd Amendment. States should nullify all federal laws that compromise the 2nd Amendment such as those being proposed by the Biden team.
  3. Nullify open border policies. With Biden announcing his intent to grant amnesty to all illegal aliens, combined with his hostility to border security, expect the border to get out of control. Already, migrant caravans are heading to the border. States should nullify such pro-open border policies and use their resources to stop illegal immigration. The reality is that states were originally involved in setting immigration policy and indeed, used to detain and deport illegals prior to the existence of a Border Patrol or ICE. The only mention in the constitution regarding immigration is “to establish a uniform Rule of Naturalization.”
  4. Nullify the anti-police agenda. During the Obama regime, his DoJ hamstrung city police departments all over the country with phony “civil rights” investigations, resulting in cities hesitant to arrest or prosecute violent thugs. With anti-police activists surrounding Biden, his administration will do the same, thereby empowering leftist rioters in our cities. The founders never gave the federal government a law enforcement role as they thought this responsibility best be carried out by local police and sheriff departments. States should resist and ignore all federal anti-police regulations and DoJ harassment of local police departments.
  5. Nullify all federal efforts to preserve fraudulent voting procedures. Conservative states need to immediately take action on election fraud and pass comprehensive voter ID laws, which, of course, will be attacked by Biden’s DoJ as a “civil rights” violation. States also need to remove the estimated 2-3 million illegal aliens from its voting rolls. Indeed, a fact check site has documented that the millions of illegal aliens are currently voting and may have thrown the election to Biden. States need to stop disenfranchising its legal citizens and also purge from its voter rolls dead people, repeat registrations, and those who moved out of state.

Of course, states will be reluctant to invoke nullification but the alternative would be to watch our constitutional rights be trashed by leftists. The MAGA movement in the Red States needs to became active in urging legislators and governors to start reclaiming their constitutional powers and begin nullifying illegal Federal law.

Once states are engaged in nullifying federal laws, I believe we will witness what I call the “great migration” in which conservatives will leave blue states to live in red states and vice-versa. And yes, this could lead to a peaceful balkanization of America in which the Red states become redder and the Blue states become bluer, but this is not our fault. It is the left that is assaulting our constitutional rights and if conservatives desire to live in states that protect their rights, then so be it.

Already, we are seeing some movement in the states on the nullification front. The Arizona Senate passed a bill that declares it will not enforce federal gun control laws. Oklahoma, South Dakota and North Dakota legislators have all introduced legislation that nullifies Biden’s executive orders.

Nullification is simply returning America to its original system of governance in which most governmental authority is decentralized to the states and counties. The federal government can’t do much about it other than to cut federal funding for some state programs, but perhaps the time has come for states to do away with these federal handcuffs.

Say Goodbye to the America We Knew and Loved

My generation believed in the United States. We believed in its respect for the individual, in its Constitution, in its status as the only benign superpower in history. In other words, we believed in American exceptionalism. “Traditional American values are worthy of a passionate defense,” said author and TV commentator Monica Crowley. Referring to these values as “the American project,” Charles Murray, author of Coming Apart, defined it as the continuing effort “to demonstrate that human beings can be left free as individuals and families to live their lives as they see fit, coming together voluntarily to solve their joint problems.” If you boil it down, what makes our society unique in world history is the respect accorded the rights of the individual citizen. The Constitution was written as a restraint on the power of the government to interfere in our lives.

All that seems to be changing. As we move into 2021, to borrow from Shakespeare, something is rotten. It is difficult to pinpoint the origin or the exact nature of America’s disintegration. It developed a head of steam when a man who hates this country, Barack Obama, was elected president. For eight years, we watched his concentrated assault on our values. Obama and his fellow Democrats have introduced some new concepts into our vernacular: democratic socialism, identity politics, social justice, diversity, inclusion, political correctness, Critical Race Theory, cancel culture. They were intended for the express purpose of destroying everything that is laudable about America.

If you wanted to destroy the USA, how would you do it? “America will never be destroyed from the outside,” said Abraham Lincoln. “If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev said the same thing in 1961. “We do not have to destroy America with missiles,” he said. “America will destroy itself from within.” Were they correct?

In February 2019, astute Canadian psychologist Jordan Peterson made this observation: “[t]he political debate between the right and the left seems to be moving forward in a manner that indicates the fundamental robustness of the institutions of democracy in the U.S.” Peterson’s observation is no longer accurate — our democratic institutions are anything but robust. The political debate is flirting with civil war as progressives in Congress and on social media gang up to censor conservative viewpoints. Citizens have no confidence in their elected representatives, the legal system, the media, or each other. Public officials encourage disrespect for the laws they are sworn to defend. Our cities are being torn apart with rioting, looting, and arson as mayors and governors encourage the breakdown of civil order.

There is no doubt that our government does not run the way it was intended. Congress seems incapable of doing the country’s business. What has it accomplished in the last four years aside from the ridiculous impeachment of the president and sending our tax money to countries that call us names? Using the coronavirus as an excuse, government is trying to insinuate itself into every facet of our lives. As we allow the government to tell us when we can leave our homes, when we can go to work, and under what circumstances we can run our businesses, we relinquish more and more of our independence.

The worst shortcoming of our government is its failure to maintain election integrity. According to the US News & World Report, U.S. elections from July 2012 through December 2018 rated “lower than any other long-established democracies and affluent societies.” The source is a 2019 report published by the Electoral Integrity Project, an independent project based out of Harvard University. This revelation should make all Americans clamor for improvement.

The 2020 presidential election has brought us even lower on the ladder. We have more than a thousand sworn affidavits attesting to massive voter fraud: suspension of signature verification, violation of state election rules, non-verification of mail-in ballots, backdating of ballots, double-voting, dead people voting, hiding ballots under the table, refusal to allow poll-watching, and vote-switching by machine systems. “People are going on the record under oath and risking being canceled, doxed, and even accosted, to tell what they have seen about this election process,” said Rep. Michael Cloud. “The apparent lack of action from the Justice Department regarding a number of anomalies, statistical improbabilities, and sworn accusations of fraud is troubling.” It may be troubling, but it is consistent with partisan activities of the DOJ, the FBI, and the IRS. FBI Director James Comey’s refusal to indict Hillary Clinton, Obama’s weaponization of the IRS against conservative groups, and inaction from the Durham investigation have destroyed the public’s confidence in our justice system.

In spite of the media’s efforts to hide the truth, the public knows what is going on. Actor James Woods tweeted, “70,000,000 Americans are outraged about this befouled election.” “We don’t accept this fraudulent result.” Whenever the president tries to expose the fraud, the media poison the airwaves with the same mendacious phrase: “Trump’s baseless allegations.” It makes my skin crawl every time I see this lie repeated by CNN, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. The media are no longer free to express conservative viewpoints and have abdicated their role as the republic’s watchdog.

What kind of nation are we bequeathing to our children? Unless we wake up soon, it won’t be pretty. Perhaps Aldous Huxley, author of Brave New World, was correct when he predicted “a dictatorship without tears … a kind of painless concentration camp so that people will have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing.”

Why Do Democrats Cheat ?

There is ample evidence for those who care to see it, that the Presidential election was stolen.  Peter Navarro’s report, entitled “The Immaculate Deception: Six Key Dimensions of Election Irregularities,” is also a must read. 

My question is: Why is the fraud always on one side?   Why do Democrats cheat? 

The population has never been more polarized. Conservatives and regressives (they are not progressive and they are not liberal) no longer worship the same God, share the same values, honor the same heroes and history, or agree on the meaning of human existence.  We also no longer share a view of the nature and purposes of government.  

This country was founded on shared Judeo-Christian beliefs.  Even without a common religion, we still shared basic beliefs that our rights and responsibilities are ordained by Almighty God.  It’s spelled out in our Founding document, the Declaration of Independence:

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.– That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

Those of us who respect the Founding Father’s understanding of God-given rights respect their vision of limited government that follows from that. Our rights come from God, not from government.  It has become clear that Democrats do not believe this.  Democrats believe that our rights come from government.  Therefore, government can decide what rights we have, can grant new rights and take away rights at the will of those in power.  Take the “universal right to healthcare” for example.  This is not a right in the sense that we believe in rights. God does not operate a healthcare system and grant universal access.  God-given rights do not impose burdens on others.   Government-granted “rights” force people into involuntary servitude in order to provide them.

Once you come to grips with this moral divide it becomes easier to understand why Democrats cheat.   For if you believe that rights come from government it is a very short jump to “the ends justify the means.”  If what you believe is that more government power and control means more rights it becomes understandable that for Democrats anything goes and win by any means necessary.

A Call to Arms for All Good Patriots to Come to Aid of Their Country

Our Founders were visionaries and provided ways to resolve disputed Presidential elections. Constitutional law expert Attorney Jenna Ellis, a Trump legal team member, outlined this procedure. The most straightforward solution is for the six contested states’ legislatures to convene on their initiative by a simple majority vote without being called into session by a reluctant governor. Then by a resolution by a simple majority vote, reclaim their state’s electors pledged for Biden and appoint electors for Trump before Congress meets Jan. 6, 2020.   

Patriots in the contested states should immediately deluge by phone, fax, and email their representative to demand the retraction of the electors pledged to Biden.  Warn the representatives there are 74 million disenfranchised voters who voted for Trump who are not going away, “. . . come back with your shield or on it!” Links to representatives in AZGAMINVPA, and WI.  While not yet time for pitchforks and shovels, this has been done before.  Shortly after WWII, Tennessee citizens faced a similar vote fraud by a corrupt government in McMinn County, “The Battle of Athens, Tennessee 1946.”

Nov. 3, 2020, a new day of infamy, devious covert attack shook the United States of America to its core. This attack was worse than Pearl Harbor or 9/11. The perpetrators were our elitist aristocracy and political class that reject the concept of self-governing by We the People. Complicit were our unelected administrative state, the Deep State, the mainstream media (MSM), Big Tech, The New World Order (Globalists – The Great Reset), and hostile foreign governments, specifically China. This evil coalition seeks to subvert the People’s will by undermining our core beliefs, sovereignty, and overthrowing our government as created by our founders. As President Lincoln said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.

As President Trump said, this coalition stole the 2020 Presidential election to prevent a duly elected President from serving a second term. This action was yet another coup to conceal the many past criminal acts of these perpetrators, e.g., treason, misprision of treason, rebellion or insurrection, and advocating the government’s overthrow. Including violating the People’s civil rights under the First, Second, Fourth, and Fifth Amendments and many other serious federal felonies that so far have gone unpunished.

This coalition’s collective actions are a criminal conspiracy or a criminal enterprise, as defined in RICO, as I wrote previously in this article.  See this article by Glenn Reynolds (AKA, Instapundit), a University of Tennessee law professor.  Our law enforcement and other government agencies covered up these crimes – the Secretary of State, Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Central Intelligence Agency, Director of National Intelligence, and others. They all went rogue and failed to defend the United States against all foreign and domestic enemies.

Is Joe Biden a compromised Manchurian Candidate? A puppet used by dark handlers to implement the radical agenda of the Leftists and Marxists?  Their manifesto is the antitheses of the People’s rights, “. . . endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,” as declared in the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution – the free will of men and women. These allegations pose severe national security consequences from China to the United States should former Vice President Joe Biden serve as President.

Before the election, organized domestic terrorist organizations would magically appear that committed acts of murders, riots, arson, insurrection, and destruction of both public and private property (BLM and Antifa).  These organizations are akin to Hitler’s Brownshirts. These organizations have ties and are funded by the perpetrators. The MSM colluded with outright lies and disinformation to suppress the vote in support of Biden. Big Tech censored social media to thwart the free flow of information and discussion of these issues.

COVID-19 mandates for masks and lockdowns were and are a sham. The hysteria generated was used to suppress the vote and to facilitate vote fraud. Whether accidentally released or not from a Chinese viral lab, China knew this virus was in the wild but hid this fact with the WHO’s assistance. China banned travel from Wuhan within China but allowed international flights from Wuhan to continue. There is evidence to suggest China created COVID-19 as a bioweapon. The intentional release in either manner was an act of war.

The Hunter Biden investigation was kept secret from the voters for over a year by the DOJ and FBI.  Evidence from this investigation contained exculpatory information that was withheld from the defense in President Donald J. Trump’s sham impeachment trial. The DOJ should have disclosed this evidence no matter what its policy was. The People’s interest far outweighed the DOJ’s policy of nondisclosure. The co-conspiring MSM refused to cover the Hunter Biden story.  Instead, they called it Russian disinformation until very recently. Twitter de-platformed the New York Post that broke the story. Why?

The Dominion vote system is a well-known corrupt vote tallying system within the cybersecurity community. Dominion was used to flip votes at will (herehere, and here). A forensic analysis of the voter machines in Antrim County, Michigan revealed “. . . [were] not the result of an error by the Republican clerk, as claimed, but ‘machine error built into the voting software designed to create error.’” Dominion has been accused of being financed by hostile governments. At a news conference in Georgia on 12-02-2020, Attorney Lin Wood accused both the Governor and Secretary of State of Georgia of taking money from China (YouTube at 11:40).

Where are the DOJ and the FBJ?  Late out of the gate again — like 9/11?  Why? Time to pay the piper, either do your job or get off the pot. Time for real police work instead of playing to the media with dog and pony shows, e.g.,  the NASCAR garage door noose. The FBI’s NASCAR response is the type of action necessary to root out and prosecute this conspiracy to commit organized and systemic vote fraud across many states in this election. The FBI has the Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTF), Fusion Centers, and the forensic financial and cyber resources to confirm these crimes were committed and identify the perpetrators.

At stake is whether our country survives as a constitutional republic from this covert, insidious attack both from within by the aid and comfort by elected and unelected officials and others owing allegiance to the United States and by the assistance of hostile foreign governments and The New World Order.  As Benjamin Franklin said, our government is, A republic, if you can keep it. As explained by Richard Berman, “. . . democratic republics are not merely founded upon the consent of the people, they are also absolutely dependent upon the active and informed involvement of the people for their continued good health.”  [My emphasis] We must preserve the rule of law and put an end to this unequal system of justice — rules for thee, but not for me.  As John Adams said, “[We are] a Government of Laws, Not of Men.”

How Progressives Are Dismantling America’s Foundation

Undergirding the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution is a set of philosophical principles that are under assault by Progressives.  These founding principles, derived mostly from the Federalist Papers, provide the lens through which we read and understand the Constitution.  Without this lens, the meaning of the Constitution and American law becomes putty in the hands of every special interest group.

Progressivism seeks to replace the founding principles with a new set of doctrines based on the tenets of social justice — a system which elevate the rights of “protected classes” (non-whites, LGBTQ, women, etc.) by subordinating  the rest of society.  This so-called “just society” is not the kinder, gentler America that Progressives promise, but a dystopia where the rights of the many are trampled, dissenters are punished, and government has nearly unlimited power and scope.  The examples that follow are selected from my recent eBook, The War on America’s Founding Principles: How Progressives Are Dismantling America One Plank at a Time.

Inalienable Rights.  The assault on America’s Founding Principles begins by dismantling the inalienable rights upon which our nation is built.  An attack on these rights, which are endowed by God rather than the state, is an attack on our entire constitutional system.  The first inalienable right, according to the Declaration of Independence, is the right to life — the right to exist.  Legalized abortion on demand, which Progressives promote with fanatical zeal, is a complete rejection of this inalienable right.  Progressives have further embraced this rejection by elevating abortion access to a fundamental human right and insisting that the government fund abortions.  Ironically, this renders government, which is charged with protecting inalienable rights, complicit in violating the inalienable rights of the most powerless members of our society. 

Abortion is the first logical step in demolishing the American system of rights in order to construct a Progressive society with new rights, focused almost exclusively on protected classes.  A philosophy draconian enough to seize the most fundamental right from the innocent without due process will not hesitate to curtail or confiscate other rights, even if they are guaranteed under the Constitution.https://lockerdome.com/lad/9371484590420070?pubid=ld-8832-1542&pubo=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.americanthinker.com&rid=www.americanthinker.com&width=692

Liberty.  American liberties include freedom of religion; freedom of speech (and, yes, that includes hate speech); freedom of the press; and the right to bear arms.  The principle of liberty restrains government power, preventing it from unduly interfering with or denying our divinely endowed freedoms.  Except where authorized by citizens through the Constitution, government does not have the authority to limit these freedoms (Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments).  Accordingly, every action of government should strive to protect liberty and should be weighed by this principle.

But we find an opposing inertia at work on the left.  Progressivism commences with an authoritarian, regulatory-minded impulse that restrains the freedom of citizens.  Government power is used reflexively to limit personal freedoms by regulating businesses, markets, consumption, education, speech, religious conscience, etc.  All of this is necessary, according to Progressives, to create a “just society.” 

Examples of this authoritarian impulse include the House-approved Equality Act (which severely limits religious freedoms in order to accommodate LGBTQ “rights”); the Affordable Care Act (which attempted to force religious ministries and schools to cover the insurance cost of abortion-inducing birth control drugs); federal zoning laws (which are intended to destroy the suburbs by merging them with large cities); onerous gun control legislation; and the relentless attempts on social media, in corporations, and on college campuses to limit or deny the free speech of conservative speakers.  

In all of these examples, forced conformity to achieve a “just society” is valued by Progressivism above free thinking, individual liberty, conscience, and self-determination.  This stands in stark opposition to the goal of the Founders, which was to minimize government interference in our daily lives — the right to be left alone — allowing us to pursue our own happiness. 

Private Property.  “Government is instituted to protect property of every sort,” said James Madison, including conscience, “the most sacred of all property.”  The founding principle of private property is not limited to real estate.  It encompasses the natural rights of all individuals to create, obtain, and control their possessions, beliefs, faculties, and opinions, as well as the fruits of their labor (Fourth and Fifth Amendments). 

Progressivism subordinates the protection of private property to the goals of social and economic equality and environmental justice.  Equal outcomes, or “equity,” as it is often called, can be achieved only by reallocating wealth through centralized planning and control, government coercion, confiscation of private property, and limiting individual economic freedom.

One of the primary vehicles for achieving these goals is excessive taxation, which is used to redistribute wealth through massive federal programs.*  Though Progressives are not seeking to abolish private property outright, they believe that their vision of a just society warrants government confiscation of private wealth and property to whatever degree is necessary to implement “economic justice.”  Effectively, the purpose of government is to appropriate private property rather than to protect it.

Not only do these policies violate the natural right of private property, but, as history has shown, attempts to heavily regulate and control businesses and markets, and to redistribute wealth through taxation, end in widespread poverty, shortages, and even starvation (e.g., the Soviet Union, Cuba, China, Venezuela, etc.).

Limited Government.  The principle of limited government maintains that citizens are best able to pursue happiness when government is confined to those powers that protect their life, liberty, and property.  History is littered with innumerable examples of “absolute Despotism,” to use the words of the Declaration of Independence.  The lesson is clear: tyranny grows in proportion to power, threatening individual liberty.  The Founders had a realistic understanding of the human condition and its tendency toward corruption and control.  “It will not be denied,” warned James Madison, “that power is of an encroaching nature and that it ought to be effectually restrained from passing the limits assigned to it” (Federalist 48). 

Progressivism, on the other hand, originates from an entirely different set of assumptions regarding government power.  Progressives, as evidenced by their compulsive dependency on government, maintain that government should be as large and as powerful as necessary to implement social, economic, and environmental justice.  The government, especially at the federal level, is viewed as the first resort in resolving social and economic problems such as health care, education, unemployment, housing, poverty, and the environment.  

The Green New Deal, which will cost trillions of dollars, is the largest, most expensive proposed government expansion in history.  It would use federal control to restructure utilities, transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, society, and the economy.  Similar proposals include taxpayer-funded health care, taxpayer-funded childcare, taxpayer-funded college education (at state colleges), a minimum guaranteed income, slavery reparations, and even taxpayer-funded internet service.  These programs promote an uncontrollable dependency on government that is diametrically opposed to the Founders’ vision of America.

The fatal flaw in the Progressive project is not just the expansion of government with its 430-plus federal  agencies, but the failure to connect this growing government power with increasing tyranny.  Progressivism has no limiting principle to restrain the growth of government because government is regarded as a benign agent of the people.  But this is a naïve delusion.  As we have already seen, a number of our constitutional rights are in jeopardy as government inches toward authoritarianism.  Innumerable examples across the globe, especially from socialist and former socialist countries, also give proof to the Founders’ belief that tyranny and corruption always grow in proportion to power.  

Though Progressives, like most Americans, believe they are defending and preserving our democracy, they are actually undermining and replacing American democracy with something radically and dangerously different.  The threat extends far beyond the principles of limited government, private property, liberty, and inalienable rights.  Progressivism, in its relentless attempt to delegitimize our historical foundations, also endangers the rule of law, due process, consent of the governed, and federalism, among other principles, as explained in my book.  This sweeping demolition of our founding principles renders Progressivism the most dangerous existential threat America has faced since the Civil War.

*Though citizens have a moral and civic duty to help those in need and improve society, it is not the prerogative of the federal government to coerce philanthropy.  State governments, which are closer to the people and whose powers are more general, may, as the Founders believed, undertake such relief as a last resort (e.g., to help children, the disabled, the destitute, etc.).  Thomas Jefferson, for example, co-authored the Virginia “Bill for Support of the Poor” in 1779.

The Blinds are Wide Open

The silver lining to this COVID virus is that we are experiencing lockdowns similar to police-state rule. We have lost our freedom to assemble (except to burn and pillage) and our freedom to worship.  We have experienced empty grocery shelves and long lines as seen so often in socialist countries; it is why socialism always fails — one set of rules and outcomes for the peons and others for the leaders who never obey their mandates.  The Great Reset has knocked on our door, and it isn’t pleasant.

In addition to the little tyrants flexing their mini muscles, we are experiencing suppression and manipulation of the truth by meddling technocrats, the moronic blue media, intel traitors, and money-grubbing politicians in bed with the Chinese Communist Party. Globalist all, and proponents of the Great Reset. How many of the goons mentioned above have been bought by communist China? It is time to follow the money.

Some may consider this abbreviated glimpse of the Great Reset (a more palatable name for Global Socialism) as a potent warning. On the other hand, proponents of socialism see the crisis as a catalyst to push their vile ideology.  Is it any wonder why they promote the idea of lockdowns? They are banking on the unsustainable wreckage and destruction of millions and millions of lives to give them the space to waltz in and burn down the whole system and replace it with a socialist Gulag.  And make no mistake, the Great Reset’s end game is to get rid of capitalism. It is of little wonder why the Godfather of globalism, entitled billionaire Bill Gates, wants bars and restaurants closed for the next four to six months.

Constitutionalists have never successfully exposed Americans to the truth that socialism brings economic strangulation and strangulation of our freedoms. Our youth, the future leaders of America, whose minds are infected as early as fifth-grade world history classes with the “flowers of socialism,” have had the most challenging time complying with government control. And why wouldn’t they? Our youth, more than any of us, thrive and grow with social contact.  When this ugly chapter of our history takes a pause, will they understand the conflict between their indoctrinated thoughts and their desire for freedom? Lovers of liberty and freedom can only hope that the anti-Constitutional dictatorial actions imposed on Americans have been an antidote to extreme academic and political indoctrination imposed on Americans.
