It’s Time for Civil Disobedience

The $3.5 trillion-dollar spending bill I warned about the other day is revealed as a communist takeover in this excellent article. No one in this audience is fooled by the idea of elections, knowing the method for years, unveiled in the 2020 election because of the desperation of the left. It might startle some of those less attentive, however. Your Republican senators are willing to vote for this, which shows the contempt they have for not only the American people, but the American process, the republic itself.

Understand, this is at a time when Joe Biden’s approval is at 42% of likely voters and 52% disapproval. On the border issue, Biden’s approval in the largely Hispanic border counties is at 39%. There is no mandate to do things like $3.5 trillion Green New Deal legislation that secures Democrat elections forever and still, Republican representatives and senators are waffling around, unable to vote against it. This is a time to hammer this back down the Democrats throats and refuse to vote for anything that is not America First, and still they won’t do it.

So, the question then becomes what can be done about a pack of jackals in the seats of power who have thrown off any restraint whatsoever, who cynically nod and smile about elections, but are really just gaslighting and coercing donations? Knowing what “should” happen is not the question, that’s a word that means nothing, because it suggests that the obligation to act rests with someone else.

The problem with the entire right, is that it seeks solutions to problems, whereas the left only seeks the optics of solutions, the end game always being the destruction of the present in favor of their better future (communism). Each side gaslights its people in order to coerce what money they have not taxed out of their pockets to be forfeited under threat from the other side. But there is no “other” side, it is all one side and it is all communist.

The tendency to seek a restoration of the republic, while commendable, is either impossible under the current system, or impossible all together. Instead of clinging to what was, it would serve everyone better to define what will replace the communist government once it utterly fails as it must.

If Rioting and Looting are 24/7, How do They make Their Point ?

People riot and loot to make a point. Whatever you think of their “points” or tactics, this is their claim. “We’re protesting racism. We’re protesting income inequality.” In order to make a point, rioting and looting cannot become a 24/7, everyday event. If rioting is the norm, and not the exception, then what are we to think? So my question for woke supporters: If looting and rioting are NEVER, EVER going to stop, and are to become a permanent part of human “civilization” — then what the hell is your point?

A House Divided Against Itself Cannot Stand

I haven’t slept very well since last Wednesday…

Our country is facing one of its biggest challenges in decades. From censorship to domestic terror concerns, America is rattled to its core.

An actual attack on our Capitol building took place last week. This is something I would have considered unthinkable in our nation. I mean, sure… in Caracas, Venezuela, but not here… not in the United States of America.

We’re at a crossroads unlike anything we’ve seen in our lifetimes. The coming days, weeks, and months will prove critical. We must preserve our democracy… our country… and our freedom.

I’ll never be OK with the use of violence to justify a political outcome. I’m a real conservative in that way… just like I didn’t condone the 2020 violence from Antifa or BLM activities. Looting and rioting are not the answer.

I believe in law and order. It is only through a proper legal framework (the U.S. Constitution) that we can resolve our differences. Most importantly, when the courts – in this case, the Supreme Court – make a decision, we must recognize it. Otherwise, why even have the courts if mobs can rule the day?

Unfortunately, the Left has effectively been handed a massive political opportunity and has the so-called “cover” it needs to push a liberal agenda… an agenda designed to help it grow its base and extinguish competition.

Even our friend and contributor here at American Consequences, former Texas Congressman and noted civil liberties champion, Ron Paul was targeted by Big Tech this week. (For what it’s worth, Ron Paul is actually a noted Trump critic.) Big Tech shut off access to his Facebook account earlier in the week with no explanation… no citation of an offending post. He was, effectively, censored for no reason.

If Ron Paul – who advocates for a strong economy and middle class through a return to the gold standard – can be shut off, what about the rest of us?

It’s a crucial question, one that I dug into both with Ron himself… and with my esteemed colleague, the celebrated free-thinker, writer, and Editor in Chief of American Consequences P.J. O’Rourke.

I joked with P.J. that our conversation felt, in some ways, therapeutic. The two of us poured through all of your questions and it was so helpful to understand what you’re thinking. Thank you for that and please keep them coming.

Bottom line, it was clear to me that so many of you who, (like me) had supported much of the Trump administration’s policy efforts and appreciated at times (though certainly not always) his candor when dealing with the criticism from the liberal media, are very disappointed.

We all want to see the success of our great nation for the sake of ourselves and future generations. So, with that in mind, now what?

After all, won’t driving the conservatives underground through de-platforming efforts just embolden them more?

Why does the Left want to create a so-called martyr out of the president? And hasn’t the answer to “bad” speech always been “more speech?”

That’s part of what differentiates the U.S. from the rest of the world. In Uganda right now, they’re holding “elections” with a dictator that has already been in charge for 35 years. Twitter, the social media giant that just permanently banned the current president of the United States, just issued a statement urging freedom of speech in Uganda.

So which is it? Ron Paul says the government and Big Tech have become the same entity and corporations are running the world. P.J. and I agree that while there cannot be militias and hate-groups looking for violent uprisings formed online, we also need to do all we can to protect our first amendment rights.

The Republic Has No Clothes: Some Lessons from Storming the Capitol

At the sight of a tattooed, horned men loping around the US Capitol, and some jester squatting in Speaker Pelosi’s chair, it would take a man with a heart of stone to witness it all without laughing. To paraphrase Oscar Wilde.

Wait. What did Zmirak just say? Doesn’t he realize that a bunch of goons getting rowdy in the people’s own house is The Worst Thing Ever to Happen in America? That it discredits populism, Donald Trump, and the Christian credentials of every person who ever supported him? That it proves all the shrinking violets of the NeverTrump sorority Beta Dogma Stigma were right to snipe at everything Trump did from beneath their pink velvet fainting couch for the past four years? That in fact, it’s evidence of terrorism, as Joe Biden just claimed?

Never mind all that shrieking and preening. There was real tragedy at our nation’s capital. Just as in ancient Greece, the comedies honoring the horned god Dionysus were flanked by tragic tales. Dramas where the good and the great got destroyed.

Ashli Babbit, Rest in Peace

First and foremost, of course, was the needless death of USAF veteran Ashli Babbit. From the video available and eyewitness testimony, she was unarmed and posed no threat to anyone. If she’d been a sexual assault suspect like Jacob Blake who wielded a knife at police, her death might have caused the burning of cities. Democrat mayors would shrug at the violence, and CNN describe it as “mostly peaceful.” Her parents might be lobbying even now to speak before Congress, as Blake’s shameless clan is doing. They will likely get what they demand.

But Babbit served her country instead of sexually violating someone, and got carried away in protesting election fraud. So she is dead and it’s all her fault. Except for the fault that can be smeared all over Donald Trump, of course. And onto you and me. “If you people were more compliant, we wouldn’t need to keep shooting you” should replace “In God We Trust” on American money. Maybe under the Bidenist Occupational Government, it will. That would at least have the merit of candor.

Your Ballot Is Now Zimbabwean Money

But there’s a broader and deeper tragedy too. Half a country has lost faith in its power to enact peaceful change, or defend its rights under law. I was raised to see our ballots as somehow sacred, our share in the sovereignty which God grants the government. We are now learning to view them as Zimbabwean $20 billion notes, which may or may not buy a loaf of bread by the time you get to the bread line.

Hundreds of thousands of citizens whose media lie to them, who fear that their votes were thrown away, or canceled out by fake votes, whose own party has largely abandoned them, peacefully marched in Washington. What were they hoping would happen? Their faces were mostly bright and full of faith. Did they really think Mike Pence, who sold out religious liberty for Christians in Indiana at the first hint of LGBT outrage, would do his constitutional duty? The thought makes me sad. God bless them, they believed America’s press release. Think Clearly About the Political, Economic and Moral Issues of Our Day.

Our efforts to demand an honest election were thwarted at every turn, like a hero in a Sophocles play trying to dodge his own destruction. The Deep State, like the Fates, slams the door and nails shut the window, then sits back and mocks its victims as they scramble. But to us that poignant spectacle of Americans defending their votes should evoke both terror and pity. For our countrymen and our families.

Pay No Attention to the Deep State Behind the Curtain

Back to the laughter. (“Indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter,” as famous perjurer Christine Blasey Ford once squeaked, in her fake baby voice.) When I saw those goofballs (perhaps mixed with Antifa provocateurs) break into the Capitol, my first reaction was not hysterical outrage. I wasn’t detached enough to think, “This is bad PR. David French will be kissing this video on his mauve iPhone right up through his last dying breath.” I didn’t foolishly think, “Maybe we can stop the Steal by force, via a couple dozen unarmed citizens taking selfies.”

No, I felt a certain anxiety and excitement, as you do when a secret’s exposed. In this case, the secret was, “The Republic has no clothes!” A government founded on free and fair votes of the people loses its legitimacy when the vote is profoundly corrupted. When its institutions collude to perpetuate the fraud. The Capitol loses its sacral quality, and becomes just a big pretentious building, like Caesar’s Palace in Vegas. Seeing some fool clown around in Pelosi’s chair was, in that sense, the perfect symbol of the joke that democracy becomes under such conditions.

Laugh Them to Scorn

Just so, the Emperor and his courtiers in the fairy tale were outraged when some feckless child announced he was naked. In the story, the people laughed the ruler and his flatterers to scorn. That’s what we should do too, and especially laugh at “conservatives” who treat “the assault on the Capitol” as something like Kristallnacht.

But then we must mourn the dead: Ashli Babbit, and our democracy which she served in uniform. We at least know that Ashli will rise someday.

Hold the Line Patriots: January 6th was the Glorious Beginning, not the End

Did you feel it, Patriots? Did you feel your heart swell with an indescribable emotion at that moment when the real patriots walked reverently into our Capitol building and suddenly, for one glorious unforgettable moment, their elected “representatives” cowered and ran from We The People. For one glorious moment, it was our House again, our voices were heard in its hallowed halls. Watching on YouTube and Twitter, I thought my heart was going to explode!

Stick with me as we explore what really happened yesterday and hey! Hold your heads up high, Patriots! Hold the line! Yesterday had like many glorious moments and it was only the beginning.

Once upon a time, millions and millions of patriots were summoned to Washington. They dropped everything and went because their lawfully Re-Elected President had never let them down and by George! they wouldn’t let him down. Come Hell or high water it was Washington or bust!

So they scheduled vacation days off work, struggled with recalcitrant airlines and inhospitable hotels and left their warm comfortable homes because they’d be damned before they missed being part of history in Washington D. C. on January 6th.

Predictably, there were dark forces at work too. Busloads of paid (on record) Antifa in MAGA outfits were rushed to the Capitol. Trump warned of it on Twitter. On January 5th, one day before the Save America Rally, Missouri congresswoman Cori Bush had already drafted verbiage calling for the expulsion of Republican congressman for inciting violence…violence that had not occurred yet.

Busted! But I’m getting ahead of myself. More about those bastards later.

The dawn’s early light revealed a sea of innumerable patriots already assembled. They prayed the Lord’s Prayer together, pledged allegiance to our flag together, sang our national anthem together and cheered together. It was torture for Michael and me because we were at the hospital and couldn’t watch it in realtime. Later at home, we caught up!

The electric rhetoric of Don Trump Jr. (Trump Jr 2024, anyone?) gave me goosebumps on my goosebumps and President Trump laid it on the line (as he always does) and the crowd ate it up!

Goosebumps gave way to nausea as we watched Mike Pence host treason in Congress. Did you feel physically ill too?

I guess that’s why the sound of shouting outside the chamber was music to my ears. Of course, the livestream was cut, returned, cut out again. The next thing we knew, our brave elected Representatives were diving under their desks, cowering under their chairs from We the People like 1960s schoolchildren during the Cold War.

Antifa started it. They stormed the Capitol working with the encouragement of the Capitol police. They broke in, some of them ripping off and discarding their MAGA gear when their vandalism was complete.

The patriots held back, reluctant yet magnetically drawn to our Capitol. The police beckoned them, taunted them, played their part in this False Flag perfectly.

When I saw Patriots milling and happily sight-seeing in the Capitol Building, to quote Patton, “God help me, I do love it so.” We belong there. The corridors of power belong to us and I loved it to my bones! It was just what Patriots needed. We found out that we are wildly more powerful than cowering traitors by sheer dint of our numbers! It gave us the most tremendous boost.

Then an unidentified man (perhaps not police!) murdered Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed fourteen year Air Force veteran who served four tours in Iraq, in cold blood. InfoWars caught it all on camera.

Ashli was executed. Murdered for carrying out her oath, “to defend and protect against all enemies foreign and domestic.” She is a hero. She is a martyr who died for her country not on foreign shores but in the Capitol building her elected representatives also swore to “defend and protect.” Ashli is the first casualty in restoring our nation to how it was conceived and dedicated by our Founding Fathers.

Congress cowered while Ashli was murdered. It doesn’t get much lower than that.

With cell phone service intermittent at best, the patriots had lost their comms. They had no way of reporting the truth to us nor any way of knowing how the events were instantly and premeditatedly spun by the fake news media.

Meanwhile, President Trump was reportedly already winging to Texas per Lin Wood and the airtraffic realtime maps, to the National Defense Command Center in Abilene, TX.

While the MSM spun and spun, the Patriots lived the truth of their peacefulness. As afternoon gave way to evening, they wandered calmly towards their hotels. No buildings were torched. No Molotov cocktails thrown. No cars vandalized. The patriots warmed their chilled bones in their hotel lobbies and rooms, chatting among themselves, enjoying dinner and having a drink to unwind. Not the behavior of the violent, the guilty nor the worried.

Nor should they be. They did nothing wrong! The Capitol belongs to us not to the Cowardly Congress who so thoroughly sought to shame us when they slunk back into the Chamber to complete their treason.

Did you notice what changed? Congressmen and women who had previously claimed they would object to the vote, suddenly used the so-called “violence” as an excuse for standing down. Kelly Loeffler and even Rand Paul funked it, reading speeches that were curiously too pre-prepared, too wordsmithed to have been hastily dashed off in fear in a lockdown scenario. Personally, I thought their manner screamed of bad acting: Rand Paul a little too animated while Kelly Loeffler had the manner of a woman either in deep guilt or in deep fear.

Conspicuous by its absence as the use of the name of the so-called President-Election. Even his own part rarely mentioned his name:Joe..Joe…nope, I can’t bring myself to say it either!

I smell either a bribed and/or threatened rat or a very carefully coordinated charade to lull traitors into completing their treason. Remember, you can’t catch and convict a traitor until they actually commit the treason.

At the very witching hour of 3:33 am CST the lot was cast and that’s when something strange happened. A gentleman I have yet to identify took Mike Pence’s hand ostensibly to give him a handshake only to palm a gold coin into Pence’s palm.

Pence was visibly surprised to find himself holding what appeared to be a Robert M. Gates Secretary of Defense challenge coin. Either it was commendation for Pence playing his role in the great charade perfectly or a warning or a little reward from the Deep State. (Click here to see photos.)

After catching a few hours of sleep, the Patriots were back online this morning. Some have finked but the main Twitter accounts I follow and depend on for sterling news haven’t turned a hair. They’re not whistling to keep up their courage. They’re not even flustered. Not in the slightest.

Lin Wood, General Flynn, @tom2badcat, Dr. Charlie Ward, @doqholliday, @VincentCrypt46 and many others knew this would happen. They predicted it. It had to happen. Trump couldn’t act until it happened. You can’t catch a criminal until they commit the crime. Yesterday wasn’t a loss. The trap the White Hats set was finally sprung and the Black Hats did it to themselves despite being warned and offered mercy time after time by Donald J. Trump.

But you’ll never hear that truth from the MSM.

The coming weeks will be, um, interesting to say the least. Regardless of what the MSM tells you, Trump has not, cannot and will not concede. Listen to Trump’s exact words very carefully, very literally. Never assume. Listen to what he actually says and keep your ear on the Emergency Broadcasting System. Soon it may be the only way for our beloved President to communicate with us. He predicted that as well!

Yesterday was not as crying’, lyin’ Chucky Schumer said, “A day to live in infamy.” NO!

It was Patriots taking our country back. We found our voice. We discovered our incredible strength in numbers. And indeed there was a shot heard round the world but it was not fired by us. Ashli Babbitt became a martyr for the country she loved. Congress has blood on their hands and we will never, ever forget.

America isn’t gone. On January 6th she began to rise again! She will return and she will be glorious, just as January 6th was glorious, seventeen ways from Sunday!

The Wisdom of Henry David Thoreau

The authority of government, even such as I am willing to submit to,—for I will cheerfully obey those who know and can do better than I, and in many things even those who neither know nor can do so well,— is still an impure one: to be strictly just, it must have the sanction and consent of the governed. It can have no pure right over my person and property but what I concede to it.
Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience” [1849

First Thoughts on the Breach of the Capital by Trump Backers. They will now elect permanent hegemony.

1. The obvious: violence and property destruction all summer by the left—still continuing in Portland et al.— tolerated by politicians and ignored by most of media which is now outraged by the breach of the Capitol. Sedition!! Insurrection!! How quickly they forget all the violence by the left, including the riots in DC before, during, and after Trump’s inauguration. Imagine the rioting if Trump had won. It would have made what happened at the Capitol seem like child’s play. And the media and the left would have talked about “mostly peaceful” protests.

2. With control of Congress (assuming Ossoff wins, which seems like a done deal), the Democrats will make victory permanent by adding DC and Puerto Rico as states, giving amnesty to millions of illegals so they can vote, ramp up legal immigration, and finish the demographic revolution ahead of schedule.

3. Big Tech will ramp up censorship, and Congress may well enact “hate speech” laws with prison and fines for the dissident right, which Biden will be only too happy to sign. Websites like this one may well be targets. If SCOTUS strikes down such laws, they will pack the Court. Or maybe just pack the Court anyway, as seems to be mainstream among Democrats.

3. A large percentage of the right believes the election was stolen (it was). I don’t think this attitude will go away, and when they realize they can’t win elections because of what the new government is doing, all bets are off. The left will use violence from the right to rationalize left authoritarianism, and with all that media power and political hegemony, they may succeed; again, fines and prison for rightest dissenters. There may well be very serious secession movements by Red State America. In any case, it’s not over until it’s over.

4. Ultimately this has come about because of the anti-White demographic revolution set into motion by the 1965 immigration law and the gradual increases in numbers of legal immigrants and illegal immigrants whose children become citizens. There’s no way that Georgia would vote for leftist radicals like Ossoff and Warnock without the demographic shift. The revolution was rationalized by the leftist media and academic culture which is now preaching Critical Race Theory aimed at inducing guilt in Whites and convincing Whites to punish other Whites who dissent from the new —what is called altruistic punishment by evolutionists (White people are particularly prone to this—long story). It’s redundant here to point out the outsize Jewish role in all this, but suffice it to say that this is the endgame dreamed of by the activist left for the last century. Their take-home message from the 2016 election was that Trump’s populist rhetoric was popular with a majority of Americans and if given enough time could have been enacted into policy. The policies Trump enunciated in 2016 had the prospect of at least slowing down the White demographic disaster, especially if these attitudes became even more entrenched with four more years of Trump and followed by someone with fewer rough edges, more political skill, and more of a mandate to do what needs to be done. The implicit mantra on the left was “Never Again,” and they pulled out all the stops to defeat him—not only the election fraud but also but the huge boost from most of the media in ginning up Trump hate and bogus impeachment Inquisitions while ignoring (mainstream media) or censoring (Twitter, Facebook) anything bad about Biden. Most notably Hunter Biden’s scandalous deals in China and Ukraine, with a cut for the “Big Guy.” Of course, there may well be a Democrat Plan B to get serious about Biden corruption and impeach him in favor of Harris.

5. There will be a big fight in the GOP over Trump’s legacy and whether Trumpists will be the future of the party. The neocons will try to make a comeback and the Chamber of Commerce types never left. But IMO there’s no way they can get a majority of the GOP behind them. The GOP is a populist party now and it’s not going away.

6. But like I said, it’s not over until it’s over. It’s just that the hole we were in, already deep, just got a whole lot deeper. But remember, when the Roman Republic ended, there was no great regret because the Republic was dysfunctional. It’s increasingly obvious that the US is dysfunctional. Which suggests that ultimately there will be an authoritarian government of the left (more likely right now) or right. Or secession.

Addendum: Conservatives on FOX News are saying things like “It was a bad election, but we have to fix that by changing the laws and going to court, not violence”—e.g., Trey Gowdy. The problem is that the left realizes that this could happen and that’s why they will do all they can to make it permanent. “Never Again.” As always, principled conservatives are happy to go down believing in the principles.

Addendum 2: I get the argument that storming the Capitol will strengthen the left. But should Trump supporters have just gone home when they sincerely & not without reason think the election was stolen? The left wouldn’t have. Stealing election is the ultimate political crime in a democracy.

How Did America Become A Lawless Nation? “Gradually, Then Suddenly”

A Bronx judge cut a teen murder suspect loose, only for him to allegedly slash a young woman in the stomach — and then get sprung again by the same jurist, The Post has learned.

Supreme Court Justice Denis Boyle freed 16-year-old Jordon Benjamin without bail for the more recent December knife attack, allowing him to roam the streets despite the two pending cases for violent crimes.

His alleged victims and their families are now furious over the kid-gloves treatment.

“This is crazy,” Tynisha Smith, the mother of slashing victim Amya Hicks, said Monday.

“We thought he was still in jail,” said Smith, 33. “She doesn’t have an order of protection or nothing. He’s local. He hangs out two blocks away.”

“Nobody called us,” she said. “I’m going to ring her now and tell her to get home. They didn’t give us a heads up or nothing. This is ridiculous. He can hurt another person.”

The first case against Benjamin is from Christmas Eve 2019. Sixty-year-old Juan Fresnada was walking with his roommate when police said the pair were assaulted by a group of teenagers — allegedly including Benjamin.

Video of the brutal attack shows that Fresnada was stomped and pounded with a garbage can. He died from his injuries three days later at Lincoln Hospital, police said.

The teens got away with $1.

Benjamin was initially confined to the Crossroads Juvenile Center in Brooklyn on a manslaughter charge but freed by Boyle in March due to concerns over the coronavirus behind bars.

Benjamin then allegedly slashed Hicks on Intervale Avenue in the Bronx on Dec. 14, not far from his Hall Place home.

He was arrested three days later and charged with felony assault and attempted assault, and misdemeanor weapons possession — but released without bail at his arraignment.

Hicks spent two days in the hospital and underwent surgery, her mother said.

juan fresnada-web

“I’m shocked,” Bayron Caceres, Fresnada’s roommate, said Monday when told that Benjamin remained free.

“It’s injustice,” said Caceres, 30. “I thought he was on trial. I thought he was in jail. It is unbelievable to me, the injustice.”

Fresnada’s building is just steps away from where Benjamin and his friends regularly hang out — and where he continues to hang out.

“I can’t believe they let him back out here,” a neighbor told The Post. “Now I gotta keep looking back over my shoulder.”

The lawyer who represented Benjamin in the murder case did not respond to a call and email seeking comment Monday.

Boyle did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

But in a statement, the state Office of Court Administration said Boyle followed the law.

“Judges follow the law and the law clearly states that the least restrictive alternative should be the preeminent driver in bail consideration,” OCA spokesman Lucian Chalfen said in the statement.

“Once released on his manslaughter charge, this defendant returned to court for all subsequent appearances, and the expectation is that that will continue with the new charge,” Chalfen wrote.

We Don’t Need to Accept the “New Normal”

Listening to the media today, one sometimes hears the phrase “new normal.” The dictionary defines normal as “conforming to a norm or standard.” That means it is society that determines what is normal and what is not, depending on what is happening in the country.

As we begin 2021, with the usual hope and optimism, we must reflect on the year which has just passed, for 2020 also began on an extremely positive note. The economy was roaring, factories and jobs were coming back to America, the stock market was doing well, and unemployment among minorities and women was at the lowest rate ever recorded. Then “the plague” struck at the end of January, and subsequently, our world came crashing down around us; a situation which was only aggravated by George Floyd’s death.

All of us have seen and heard things during this past year that would have been unimaginable in 2019, but which today are almost a daily occurrence. We call these transformative events “the new normal.”

Examples of the new normal are all around us and affect all aspects of our lives. Defunding the police while crime skyrockets is the new normal. Prisoners being released back on the streets, while hairdressers and restaurant owners are fined and sometimes jailed, is the new normal. Big tech and mainstream media shutting down all voices opposing their agenda, while extolling the virtues of democracy and free speech, is the new normal. A CNN reporter describing demonstrators as “peaceful protesters,” while behind him the skyline burns, is the new normal. Closing down all restaurants, houses of worship, and small businesses while allowing protesters to burn, riot, and loot in the name of “social justice” is the new normal. Prisoners in certain states receiving the COVID vaccine while vulnerable seniors must wait is the new normal. The latest COVID Relief bill, which included only a paltry sum in relief for tens of millions of desperate Americans, while granting billions in foreign aid, is the new normal.

Apparently, our elected representatives in the House and the Senate believe the Sudanese national debt and the education of women in Pakistan are more important than their constituents. The late publisher William Randolph Hearst addressed this very issue nearly a century ago, on May 7, 1924, when he wrote: “The day when this nation ceases to shape its foreign policy primarily for the safety and welfare of the American people will be the day on which its national doom is sealed – and its international doom too.” These are only a few of the many examples of the new normal that assault and numb our senses daily.

If there is one issue that stands out in terms of importance, it would be defunding or re-imagining the police, for no civilized society can function without order, safety, and security. It is no accident that the “peaceful protesters” have made the police the number one target for vilification. This is especially true in blue states and cities where state and local governments, along with radical district attorneys, have acquiesced to all the protesters’ demands, refusing to prosecute them for their crimes and allowing them free rein to do exactly as they wish. This has resulted in their states and cities sliding even further into chaos and anarchy, as their tax base continues to move away in ever-increasing numbers.

Any normal person would stop and re-think their failed strategy but not these people. If anything, they double down on their ideology. Some might conclude they are irrational, but there is a method to their madness. It is a method that has been used before.

During the heyday of the Cultural Revolution in China, mobs of Red Guards rampaged through the streets of Beijing and other Chinese cities unencumbered by any police restraint. They assaulted anyone they deemed counter-revolutionary. Bloodied and beaten, with placards hung around their necks denouncing them for their crimes, these hapless individuals were hauled before a forum called a “struggle session” where various individuals, sometimes even their own children, would take turns denouncing them for every imaginable offense, up to, and including, “thought crimes.” The actual number of people killed during the Cultural Revolution is unknown, but it is believed to be in the millions. The purpose of all this was twofold. The first was to solidify Mao’s position as absolute ruler of China. The second was to cow an entire population into submission and obedience through fear, terror, and intimidation. It is a very effective tactic. Every single totalitarian state throughout history has used similar methods to ensure its continued rule.

The U.S. is on the verge of becoming a country in decline, ceding to China the position of dominant world superpower. One could say that this is part of the ebb and flow of history. Every single great civilization from the Greeks, Egyptians, and Romans in ancient times to the Aztec, Inca, and Mayan civilizations in our own hemisphere has gone through this process. Even the once-mighty British Empire, which at one time controlled a third of the world, and of whom it was said, “The Sun Never Sets On,” has withered away into near obscurity.

If you were to “time warp” back to Moscow in 1990 and tell the first Russian you met that within a year his country would implode, he would look at you as if you were crazy. The collapse of a great civilization can occur slowly over time as it did with Rome and Britain, or it can happen suddenly, as with the Soviet Union. Great civilizations go through an aging process and right now, ours is looking very old.

However, aging doesn’t mean dead. We can buck the historic trend. It’s true that we have forgotten the ideals that once made us great, and replaced the “old normals” of liberty, individual responsibility, equality, and unity with the “new normals” of identity politics, wokeness, cancel culture, and critical race theory.

In a speech on May 14, 1920, over a century ago, President Warren G. Harding warned the nation that: “America’s present need is not heroics but healing; not nostrums but normalcy; not revolution but restoration.” It’s time again for Americans to assert normalcy and restoration. And then, yes, America can and will be great again.

2020, 2021 & the Prospect of a Post-Republic, Post-Constitutional America

Well, here’s the thing: If we DON’T oppose the Electoral College, then 75 million Americans will now be disenfranchised forever with no possibility of putting dissenters in office. It’s over. We are under one-party rule, forever. And if Biden supporters and RINOs carry the day, they will have 75 million REALLY PISSED OFF AND PERMANENTLY NONCOMPLIANT subjects to contend with. Sorry lefties. But when you practice fraud and deceit, as we know you’re about to do in Georgia again, you create a lot of problems for yourself. This will be a war, and there’s no getting around it. Not with rigged elections. We will not roll over and accept a dictatorship.

It will take a lot more than turning the calendar page for 2021 to be better than 2020. In order for 2021 to be better, the vast majority of us will have to embrace rationality over feelings; common sense and reason over the herd; resistance over compliance; independent thought over the mindless ravings of celebrities; personal responsibility over victimhood; and unapologetic freedom over tyranny. In other words: THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF EVERYTHING MOST OF US DID IN 2020.

George Orwell wrote that abuse of language led to dictatorship. “War is peace, slavery is freedom”. Ayn Rand went deeper, and said that the obliteration of concepts–the uniquely human method of cognition–would bring us dictatorship. And what do we see today? Exaggerated hysteria — mass obsessive-compulsive disorder — falsely labeled “science”. Government propagandists falsely called “doctors”. The imposition of an open-ended totalitarian regime worse than what Orwell or Rand projected as a way to “be safe”. When you wipe out the capacity for rational thought, you create the basis for tyranny. Well done, tyrants. You have turned America into a dystopian mecca of mask-wearing morons. Good luck with the results.
